  1. Problem is that there is no choice for this game. Just slow the game down and grind it out.
  2. I think I have finally turned the corner on EJ. unless he turns it around quickly, he is toast
  3. So you are down to beating up on EJ for a game he hasn't even played yet?
  4. Hughes, Bradham and AWilliams had a great 2015 season. If they are suddenly not smart enough, it is more a commentary on Rex's stubbornness than who Whaley built the roster with.
  5. Something is off with these previews. Can't tell you what exactly. I get a sinking feeling this is going to be as underwhelming as #1 and #2 were.
  6. I can pick nits about his drafting but no GM hits on all picks so am going to ignore that for a moment, IMHO, his biggest failing is the choice of coaches. Marrone followed by Ryan is one disaster after another. Ryan is looking terrible for (1) his complicated and ineffective defense (2) lack of discipline manifesting itself in the chronic problem of penalties, and (3) didnt know where to assign blame but it appears to me that there are more injuries this season than in the past two. Strength and conditioning ?? (4) Crossman - known in Detroit for his poor STs, he did fairly well with Marrone. What happened this year ? I had pointed out early in the season that there are some disturbing patterns emerging which would be glaring once the 'honeymoon period' was done. Needless to say, we are there now. Whaley has to take the credit (Roman) as well as blame for this coaching staff
  7. In which case, it's a good thing we don't win much
  8. Though last year his squad was not that bad. What happened this year? One parallel I see is that in both cases, the HC was known to have a highly penalized team overall.
  9. If he gets a reason to stop, that is
  10. There is no way Pagano can explain that away. No way. You pin the Pats* deep with the punt. Not pull the stupidest play ever from that field position against the offense of the Pats*
  11. Get well soon, Bill !! Post-games are not the same without you.
  12. Link ? even if it is thrown past his high point and just barely hits his fingertips at full stretch ?
  13. So what would you recommend he do besides get open when he is on the field ?
  14. Good work. Thanx. Will be interesting to see these same stats for EJ under Roman (if he starts a meaningful number of games). I would think that Roman will tend to use the middle a bit more with EJ in there.
  15. For a moment, let us forget Carucci's article. If you have watched the games, do you really get a warm fuzzy feeling from our defense in general ? They have looked great against the Dolphins and much of the second half of the Giants game. But that is inconsistent. I recall a very smooth transition from Pettine to Schwartz's defense even though the latter was different. We have a slightly better roster now (with Darby) but are left making excuses for a near-bottom pass D. A truly great D is supposed to give fits to even great QBs. Ryan has historically had success against Brady** but the defense looked inept and on their heels throughout the second game. This is NOT a hallmark of a supposed great defense no matter what point of the season we are at. With the talent we have, we should have been giving nightmares to opposing Defenses. As always, we have looked tough to plkay but easy to beat.
  16. Actually he said everybody would do push ups not just the culprit And he took this long to figure out that the team needs more discipline?
  17. Succinctly written and reflects my thoughts also
  18. I am with you. In the two losses, this team was indisciplined and unprepared. Good thing was that the D adjusted in the second half. But, the issues with this team seem chronic. Penalties, getting gashed at inopportune times, inability to adjust on O. Somehow, a guy considered a defensive guru has managed to take a more talented roster and make them look befuddled at times against Brady and the first half yesterday. Very concerning
  19. A vertical game will help. Open up some room at the lines. We are too conservative
  20. Is Goodwin back? If he plays, I would say McCoy. Else we need Sammy more due to the Giants very good CBs
  21. Tomlin made some very poor in game decisions today. He needs to look in the mirror first
