  1. I am not doing anything this afternoon.
  2. Strange - how do supposed personnel issues paint Whaley in a bad light. Sure, he hasnt hit on all of them but we have been suffering for the past 3 years from some dysfunctional coaching. And supposedly the coaching choices have been Russ (Marrone) and Pegula (RR). In any case, I am suspecting that Whaley may choose to not re-up his contract because frankly, his roster building has been seriously undermined by coaching choices seemingly out of his control. Perhaps he could visit the board here and do a townhall session. Probably will get better advice
  3. Gee, if you put it that way... I enjoyed it anyway.
  4. You are on top of the media much more so than me but here are a couple http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/21679/rex-ryan-doug-whaley-deserve-blame-after-bills-disappoint-again http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/12/17/bn-blitz-podcast-dec-17-examining-bills-disappointing-season-changes-ahead/
  5. That is an excellent article. I have just one question which seems to have been answered by some here earlier - who hired Ryan ? If he was Whaley's choice, then for sure he has to take responsibility and accountability for that decision. If it was Pegulas', then Whaley gets a clean chit for doing a good job on building the roster. Its not for nothing that media opinion pins Bills as one of the biggest disappointments of this season.
  6. Being an out of town fan and long term Sunday Ticket subscriber, I vowed to myself that I will NOT buy the ticket next season until the on-field performance matches the pre-season hype. I am and will continue to be a fan, but that doesn't mean I need to shell out several hundred dollars to prove my fanhood.
  7. Saw it last night. Very very good movie. Keeps the pace and feel of the original 3 movies. Story development is also excellent.
  8. Just go through that list and ask yourself - why did the Schwartz D do well with pretty much the same players. I doubt MarioW has been hurt as much as misutilized. In today's NFL, with the salary cap and free agency, the window to win is quite narrow. It is much better to design a scheme that takes advantage of your personnel than to build 'your team' over a 3 year time frame. This D was not bereft of talent. And yes - the HC has a large part in the number of penalties. It comes down to the level of detail and discipline which the HC demands.
  9. 95% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. What a relief that the good JJ Abrams decided to direct this movie
  10. But that seems to be the situation for more than just Mario. The only group that is excelling are the DBs. Both DL and LB are terrible
  11. Crossman was bad in Detroit but with the amount of attention paid to ST talent, did not do too bad last year. Above average I would say. This year, as with the D, ST have also regressed overall
  12. Which begs the question - is he a superlative DC who is out of his depth as a HC ? I am not sure if his bone-headedness has made this D regress or the possibility that he is wants to meddle in the D but cannot give it enough attention considering he is also the HC. I think it is the former. His inattention to details, poor game management and player indiscipline will hold him back as a HC. No matter how much the D is restructured, RR's basic issues will limit how far this team can go.
  13. The doctors better be real sure about his recovery and ability to take hits and the strain of playing. I am sure they know what they are doing, but man this is scary stuff. We will see and hope he has recovered enough to be in playing shape.
  14. I agree with re-signing him mid season 2016. Note that this pro-TT euphoria is after his best game as a Bill. He has earlier shown himself to be inconsistent and unable to consistently string together an entire game. More data is needed before pegging his value. There really is no pressure right now. I am willing to take the risk to having to pay more if he proves himself over 1.5 seasons . Call it the Fitz effect, but no reason to commit big dollars to him now or in the upcoming offseason. As someone else stated, RWilson was not extended till after 2 consecutive Superbowl appearances and not even after the one he was victorious in. Not sure there is enough data to support that position.
  15. Robert Woods always has a place on my team. On the condition that he ditches those cleats from Walmart's discount bin
  16. Good of you to stop by. Kudos for the 'lucky' win on Thursday. If only the Jets had lost, this would have been a perfect week. Hey, the NFCN is crazy this year, seems like things change every week. Keep trucking... I think Mr. Cam Newton may disagree with you (for good reason) Yep, oh what could have been but didn't
  17. A QB, any time a good one is available.
  18. You are not too bad yourself, unlike a few around here As you have volatility raised the level of OL analysis, I hold you to a higher standard. So take my criticism in that light.
  19. Your OL analysis is very good. I think if you had given a more solid response to why you chose to omit the negative TT plays towards the end of the game, the discussion could have gotten smoother. As you obviously put in a lot more work than me or most people here, you deserve kudos. But along with thoughtful analysis comes a burden of being totally objective regarding all aspects you are commenting on. As an example, no one would take you to task for defensive breakdowns as you do not analyze those. But when you specifically look for QB performance and in the past have taken pains to analyze both EJ and TT, it is only fitting that you look at the overall performance by TT. As another example, if memory serves me correctly, you had glowing reviews of his second half performance in the first Pats* game, which almost resulted in a comeback win. By that token, TT's performance should be judged till the final whistle in the Chiefs game as well.
  20. Which only us a case against his supposed genius in the defensive department. Schwartz came in for Pettine and our overall D got better. Ryan was supposed to do more with less but in fact is doing less with more. How is he a genius?
  21. I ask this with all seriousness - in what way? Our record isn't better, our D is worse, in game management is worse... All that is better is that press conferences are more colorful
  22. Didn't sound like he is taking responsibility for yesterday's coaching mistakes. And really, if you see his responses, they are the plain Jane, garden variety Jauronic answers just expressed more impressively. In short, he states the obvious but the following week is more of the same
  23. Like who? And I argue that TT isn't the type of QB to be a game manager either
  24. I ask myself this question several times and am sad at the answer 'Are we better today than we werea year ago?'I should stop talking to myself
  25. Carrington flashed some potential in the year before he left for Pittsburgh. But this is really his big chance. Also, on the flip side, given Mario's underwhelming year so far, it will be real interesting to see how the D performs without him
