  1. Yes. Agree So what were the other players not named Darby doing on a regular basis. Have you totally bought into the spin that MarioW was to blame for the failings of the defense ? Yes he underperformed. But he was not the only one, more than one occasion the unit as a whole looked out of position.
  2. Considering the chances of the #1 defense not even making it to the superbowl, versus the likelihood of doing so with one of the elite QBs, I would without thinking twice, choose Rodgers.
  3. I now think Stafford's career will soon be done too, unless the Lions draft a good replacement. Stafford has consistently underperformed. Anyway, good luck to Megatron in his retirement
  4. Way too many assumptions in this post. First, he has to maintain production in his second year. Second, there is the entire issue of him able to see and use the full breadth of the field. Thirdly, the money being paid to him is on a 'show-me' contract. Then there is the experience with a Fitz-type contract made too early. Finally, 'most sought after in decades' ? That is entirely your opinion. I get that you are one of his strongest supporters but paying someone with the fear that he will fee disrespectful 14 months from now is way too un-businesslike.
  5. Yep. This Harvin argument is similar to the ones used for Spiller "if he catches in space he is deadly/he needs to be used properly/he can break the big one" or for Parrish/Goodwin "can run by anybody/cant be caught from behind". Flashes of brilliance, but ultimately too limited by one factor or another to be meaningfully useful.
  6. Of course the DC would want to remain anonymous. Wouldn't want to proclaim his ignorance to the world. Kap is inaccurate and no amount of'scheme' or coaching will overcome that on a season-long basis. I am guessing said DC may be Dave Wannsteadt
  7. I don't agree. A decision should be made based on what the player does or does not bring to the team. Based on his history, the FO should not give him a contract hoping all will go well. This is a Fred Jackson type decision in my mind- the FO believed that he is well over the hill even though he was not too bad in the previous season. They cut Fred which opened up the thought process to bring other replacement. Sorry but in my mind, the risk of an unavailable Harvin is far more than the reward when and if he plays.
  8. With Harvin, it is either attitude or health or in the present case 'we don't know' (per the Bills). If K and A Williams are half way healthy, do you think they would stay off the field ? That they wouldn't tell the Bills whats up with them ? Sorry, but there is just no comparison in my mind. Its not fair and its rather unrealistic also. We are not in the middle of the season, we are in the off-season. The choice will NOT be between Harvin and a crappy player. We will have plenty of opportunities to address the #2 WR spot through existing players whose desire and heatlh history is better or via the draft. I am taking an extreme position, but this is not an area where the Bills should spend money and pray.
  9. You are comparing the history of Kyle Williams to Percy frikkin Harvin?
  10. If those are your only choices, maybe Option 1 is better but there will be other WRs becoming available. My major issue with having a #2 WR with injury/other issues is this - an offense is planned around the personnel. Injuries do happen but a #2 WR is more critical to an overall season's plan than a #3 or lower WR. I hesitate to go into the season planning around Harvin as the #2 because, in this case, history is an indication of the future. If the Bills say they have no idea whats up with Harvin, it is a terrible sign. His employers have to be totally aware of what issues he has so that they can plan accordingly. I am tired of players whose chance of playing a full season, heck half a season, are very very low. I would rather give the money to a cheaper, less spectacular but more reliable WR.
  11. I am all for this hire but as much improvement as the STs need, Ryan is in more dire need of QC.
  12. I know I am thinking vicariously but man it would be great if an Andy Reid coached team were to beat the snot out of the Pats** in their own stadium
  13. Very insightful entry by Rodak
  14. Havent seen Boldin play this year. Does he have a couple of good years in his tank ? Bowman would be nice.
  15. Any good 49er players we want on the Bills? Get them trades ready ...
  16. That must be a pretty sad guy who's wife cheats on him with BB More likely a distraction for another innovative cheating method
  17. Lol. (Should I be laughing?)
  18. Just when I thought I had gone full cynic, here comes some good news. Loved him as a player and believe he will be a great coach. DB coach today, DC in the future?
  19. He didnt have smart players who could count.
  20. But he hasn't been good at his job as a DC. just yesterday, someone argued with me that RobR is not being hired to be the DC and I said it's only a matter of time. Little did I realize that the time span would be so short. His claim to fame is being a DC for several years and his squad being half way decent against the pass for 2-3 years. Rest of the time, his run D and overall D have been terrible. Since he was let go, RobR was sitting around. He was not called for any DC position. Yet just days after he is inexplicably hired by Buffalo, it looks like the DC spot may open up for him. What exactly are you defending in this situation?
  21. Fine. Then fire Bobby April III and name RobR as his replacement.
  22. But on the flip side, how does his qualification of having being a good LB coach in the distant past makes him the ideal candidate for Asst HC/Defense ? In general, organizations create new positions when a great candidate becomes available but they don't have an existing spot for that person. Is this action implying he was that 'dying let him get away' candidate?
  23. Not understanding the decision = bitching??
  24. I was questioning why his credentials make him qualified to be Assistant Head Coach/Defense
