Mike Williams emerges -- (update: Signing with KC)
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I clicked this topic cos I thought it was about the OL Mike Williams. Never mind, carry on. -
IMHO, we do need a big possession type WR. In last offseason, we had speed in Gooodwin. Watkins may not be a burner but appears to have game speed. Marshall would have been the missing piece. Your point about dropsies is well taken but overall the watkins-marshall-woods combo would have been the right mix of skills. Be that as it may, Harvin with his limited availability still has no place on this team even at an incentive laden contract. Given that we don't have a lot of depth, we cannot afford Harvin

For those who think stats are everything...

You don't think the difference in career percentages between 63% and 56% is significant regardless of the factors ? -
Bills restructure Kyle Williams

I am the first to lament about depth but don't know what Parrish... Err.. Glass Goodwin is till doing on this team. What specific action by the Bills regarding KW would have escaped your criticism? -
Bills restructure Kyle Williams

But an indispensable member of it. Fair to question his exact fit in Ryan's defense, but he has proven to be flexible and selfless enough to make any DL role fit him -
Nigel Bradham's comments about Rex Ryan's defense

Bill,I am totally in agreement on Ryan and Whaley but disagree about Brandon. Simple reason is that the man is paid to market the team and he has done so very successfully. Even now, with early signs pointing in the wrong direction for 2016, season ticket sales are doing very well. Whether we like it or not, that's what he is paid to do IMHO -
Exactly how many players will we be replacing through the draft? W have lost a lot of depth in the past few days. Oh yes the 'free agency is young' argument is still out there. And he's worked so great in the past. Whaley said he will not be a big player in free agency and will keep our own. At least one thing was true. Edit - I am not advocating that the Bills should have matched the Pats* offer sheet but at some point they have to start thinking of signing a few replacements before the dumpster gets rolled out

Wise words, dog. Very wise.
-
Do you also disagree with the suggestion that Ryan should have benched Mario for poor preference?
-
Besides the obvious irony in saying 'knucklehead' and a request for moderation in the same sentence, did you just call Bill a knucklehead? Really?
-
That was not what you said before. You said ' there were no other bidders' which was a half truth. There were clearly other suitors for his services but the Bills didnt give them a chance to put in their bid. Which is NOT equivalent to having no bidders.

I doubt it. He may have been asked to restructure but you don't let 15 sack guys go without a serious discussion. As it stands, the relationship had soured being repair and MW had to go. I am not a fan of the circumstances that led to this and wish him all the best

Kraig Urbik cut (update - signed with Miami)
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me neither But at what cost? Slash type OL players are tough to come by. Urbik was one and his price didn't sound too onerous. I wonder what the replacement plan is and why it was felt that he wasn't good value. As we have seen over the past decade, said talent is very very difficult to come by. -
Brady Extension, Could play 20 years with pats
Fan in Chicago replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can the Bills use their cap space and pay him to retire ? That will make playoffs more likely than the addition of any one player to the Bills roster -
Just catching up with this thread and TBD in general. But, this PC by Whaley has me confused. He says the Bills have done a good job with the roster??? I thought the narrative at the end of another disappointing season was that the coaches are fine but the players weren't good enough for the schemes, especially on D. So which is it now? What caused the terrible 2015 season? It seems like Whaley thinks that fan memories and perceptions fade in 2 months. This doesn't smell good at all especially when we have a rather terrible cap position.

NFL.com: Fred Jackson wants to keep playing
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he should hang up his cleats and start coaching. I think he will be a good coach. -
It has ti be instinctive. The effort needs to be present. He just looked skittish and tok stunned to react. I think if he immediately tried to recover the ball, he may have affected the location of the ball. This particular play just culminated a terribly lackluster game from Cam. After the first few minutes, it just looked like the heart, desire and fire weren't there. Which is why Denver didn't even try hard to get a first down in the fourth quarter and was just using each possession to knock 2 minutes off the clock. I pictured a Brady or Rodgers in place of Cam and imagined how they would have approached the game after being down. Did Cam's ddmeanour and effort come any where close to that picture? Not in my mind. The game and the PC after the game showed a very immature side of CN, something which shows up way too often for him to be the face of that franchise. Remember 'Donkey Kong Suh' and that juvenile dancing on the sideline in pre season? Dude has all the skills and abilities but is immature.
