  1. I have no idea who this guy is. Hope he amounts to something
  2. On a related note, Leroi has been pretty quiet too
  3. But adding one of the best at any position is important, no ? I dont think the dollars are really that onerous and it appears that the TT contract freed up fair amount of cap space. Lets see what unfolds over the next 2 months before pre-emptively panicking.
  4. The off season is young. You have to appreciate the fact that the new staff is showing definite signs of continued commitment to the run game. Without a proven potent passing attack, this is absolutely required. Get a RT and couple of WRs and watch us climb the Offensive standings.
  5. So you have one less reason to bi*** about Whaley
  6. Yep. Sounds like a great deal for the Bills. Also means that there wasn't much of a market out there for TT . For all the talk of him not wanting to restructure and he can go to one of many teams and be a starter, here he is back on a team -friendly contract. Having said that, this covers the Bills on the low side and ensures they don't have to panic in the draft. They can take a QB they like if the value is there in 1st or 2nd round. So, in short, bash Whaley if he 'goes rogue' and bash him if he agrees with his new coaches' evaluations.
  7. There is a lot of sense in this post. And this coming from a guy who is not a TT fan. I can see both sides of the argument regarding TT considering not many are arguing he is a franchise QB. If they don't retain him, they better have a damn good plan, one without the initials CJ.
  8. Good. The Bills do get another shot at him if another team decides he is worth more. Sounds like a fair strategy to me. Not sure why you are so upset
  9. So what happens if another team gives a higher offer to MG? Do the Bills get a chance to match that offer? Or is MG gone if he accepts that competing offer?
  10. I don't know about other teams, but that is what the Bears are thinking as well
  11. With a lack of a Brady and a Matt Ryan, Buffalo needs to rely more on the run game than those teams. I am not totally disagreeing with your sentiment to spend very moderate amounts for the RB position but those two are not good comparables for the Bills.
  12. Did I not concede that I am not sold on his drafting record yet ? Whether you blame or praise him entirely depends on point of view or the argument you are trying to make. If the argument is that he made the picks without the HC's input or acceptance then Whaley is alone to take blame or credit for the picks. If you think he was trying to give the HC what he wants, he is partly responsible (he still is in charge of the talent evaluation). Last point I would like to make in this discussion is that 2018 December/2019 January is the right time to make a decision on Whaley. At that point he floats or plummets based on the Bills' record. I have no idea what you are implying here
  13. So you would believe only the reports that fit your narrative ? I do agree his record on drafts is not good to date but it takes time to judge drafts. I am not yet ready to write off the 2016 picks.
  14. All that proves is that LaCanfora achieved his purpose. On the one hand, posters are ready to bash him for creating false news. On the other hand, during slow news times, they use his posts for endlessly long threads (yea, feel free to point out that I am contributing as well).
  15. Frankly, much of the consternation is a result of losing. Do you really blame Whaley for not being in sync with Ryan ? I can also twist this argument to say that Whaley did not agree with Ryan's personnel decisions but followed his lead to allow Ryan no excuses. I think McD was recommended by Whaley and he will sink or swim with that decision. Imagining a rift between the FO and the new coach is just creating a story where one does not exist, especially as evidenced by the source
  16. But the OP is about this report, correct ? You are entitled to your opinion about Whaley but using this 'report' as a discussion point is mighty weak, IMHO
  17. So a few of you are working yourselves up into an anti-Whaley frenzy based upon a 'report' of questionable authenticity ? Is that a good summary of the last few hours of posts ?
  18. Of course the medical staff has to clear him. But I wouldn't give him any guaranteed money to guard against boo-boo-footitist
  19. With minimal guarantee money.
  20. Good job with the stats, bandit. I am of the opinion that Gilmore is a top-10 but not a top 5 corner. I would like to see him stay as a Bill because we have way too many other needs esp Safety and WR. I think he stays.
  21. To your points 1 and 3 - I have been saying this even when it comes to TT. That the structure of our O will be refelective of what Dennison and McD want to do going forward. i like McCoy but can understand him being let go/ traded if the O is going to be the type you describe. I would love for us to get a pick for McCoy and his value should be fairly high right now (for a RB that is). Only thing I worry about is that the Bills will spend a high draft pick to fill the gap. While Gillislee may be good, I dont think he can be the feature back. And not sure yet about JW as we havent seen much of him. I like the fact that McD is quiet about all this. The next month will tell us a lot about the future direction of the O.
  22. I agree. Especially a new regime needs all the leaders it can get.
