  1. I am going to go on a limb and say that this does not change the Bills draft strategy. If they land the QB they like at the pick position they want, they will take him. Then Jones and Yates can fight out for the 2nd/3rd spot.
  2. I can argue that said hungry kid may not be near as talented. Sherman in an immediate impact player who changes the nature of our currently woeful secondary. We all know how important QB pressure and secondary coverage is, in a conference with Brady. I am setting emotions aside when I say that this will be a good trade if it costs us a second or a player-for-player deal.
  3. I watched the video before my posts today. He answered that question. You claim he didn't because it won't fit your narrative.
  4. What on earth are you jabbering about ? Which questions did Pegula not answer?? And I find your statement quite ironic when you have not answered oldman's simple question. Twice
  5. That is a fair point and well argued. I don't think the Bills should attempt to revolutionize anything. For much of the past decade and especially these past few years, the Bills have left themselves with little margin for error. They should make safe picks esp with the top 2-3 picks and not go for boom-or-bust and 'project' prospects.
  6. Are you claiming to know the selection process of all Superbowl winning teams ? I sure have no clue about any other team's internal workings. All I know is that there are few organizations which are consistently successful due to one person making all strategic, marketing and execution decisions. Most major decisions are made with collaboration, though it still needs a leader to guide the process and make sure it is a balanced decision. I dont know if you are claiming otherwise.
  7. Personally, I prefer that no one person has absolute authority. Whaley will scout but McD has to decide which players fit in his schemes the best. Do you prefer this or a person on an ego-trip like Donahoe selecting McGahee or 'run to the podium' choice CJ Spiller ?
  8. This makes the most sense and something that several in here had said might be happening. But of course it is way too boring to the LaCanforas and Sully's of the media world and the Whaley detractors on this board. Leaks seem to be plugged, they are all in on the 'one voice' philosophy and have hired an image consultant. If there is to be one voice, better McD than Whaley.
  9. I feel like sniping at you but really dont know where to start. So just for simplicity - what did you want to say in this post ? McD should have won games without ever having been a HC ? That he should emote like Jack Nicholson to be truly called a good coach ? Nobody expects anybody to be 'sold' on a rookie HC till at least the second year.
  10. I have been told that my humor is only exceeded by my football knowledge.
  11. Probably doesn't want to pay for the extra long phone line for the modem
  12. You are being kind. More like 5+ years
  13. Please tell me you are being sarcastic Yep. That interview just confirmed what several of us believed for a while - that RR is a lazy, egotistic bum who is entirely incompetent to be an NFL head coach
  14. I dont think so, Hapless. I still think the Bills will draft a QB with one of their first 2 picks and go WR with the other (then D the rest of the way). They kept a known devil in TT being fully aware of his limitations. No other QB out there would have provided this to the Bills at this time. Once the rookie or CJ is ready, they will play if better than TT. The Bills avoided a desperation pick like EJ was. This gives them the luxury to get the value guy at their pick.
  15. Let me help re-structure your question. While the thought of trading McCoy sounds outlandish, the concept of a player-for-player trade or a Player+pick = Sherman may not be a bad discussion to have. What would the Bills give up to bring an aggressive DB into the fold ? Against Brady (with Cooks) on the other side, an strong secondary would be a good strategy. What other chips are we willing to use to sweeten the pot ? Wood ? Clay ? In any case, this discussion should be merged in the larger Sherman thread.
  16. I have no idea who this guy is. Hope he amounts to something
  17. On a related note, Leroi has been pretty quiet too
  18. But adding one of the best at any position is important, no ? I dont think the dollars are really that onerous and it appears that the TT contract freed up fair amount of cap space. Lets see what unfolds over the next 2 months before pre-emptively panicking.
  19. The off season is young. You have to appreciate the fact that the new staff is showing definite signs of continued commitment to the run game. Without a proven potent passing attack, this is absolutely required. Get a RT and couple of WRs and watch us climb the Offensive standings.
  20. So you have one less reason to bi*** about Whaley
  21. Yep. Sounds like a great deal for the Bills. Also means that there wasn't much of a market out there for TT . For all the talk of him not wanting to restructure and he can go to one of many teams and be a starter, here he is back on a team -friendly contract. Having said that, this covers the Bills on the low side and ensures they don't have to panic in the draft. They can take a QB they like if the value is there in 1st or 2nd round. So, in short, bash Whaley if he 'goes rogue' and bash him if he agrees with his new coaches' evaluations.
  22. There is a lot of sense in this post. And this coming from a guy who is not a TT fan. I can see both sides of the argument regarding TT considering not many are arguing he is a franchise QB. If they don't retain him, they better have a damn good plan, one without the initials CJ.
