  1. Did I not just apologize for disagreeing with the ones who said this ?
  2. Classy post and I agree with it word for word. Best wishes, Doug. If it means anything, this is the best thing that could have happened to your career. Hopefully you wont be part of such a messed up organization in the future. Hope the Steelers have a place for you.
  3. Well this was a fab way to start a Sunday. What a major major dysfunctional organization. I was and am a Whaley supporter despite some moves which I clearly blame him for. Those that wanted Whaley, go their wish. But be careful what you wish for. If the past couple of years are the way the organization is going to be run, we have definite reasons for pessimism. It is not as much as Whaley being fired but it is about how he was given the short end of the stick. He was continually saddled with decisions he had no say over but was axed for the results. And then there is the timing. What changed between January and now ? If he was to be gone, he should have been fired along with Ryan. It would still be the wrong decision, but at least the new GM would come in with the new coaching staff. This reeks of terrible terrible mis management. Finally, as BADOL immediately pointed out, if we replace Whaley with a Panthers staffer, be assured of an investigation into tampering. One we will lose, along with a pick or more. I absolutely HATE this move and the way it went down. Just besides myself with anger right now. I do owe apologies to (1) The BillsVets of the world who I constantly disagreed with regarding the dysfunction of the organization (2) Those who have been saying that Whaley will be let go after the draft, cos I said it made zero sense Did I say I am friggin pi$$ed ? If I get a warning over this, it will be well worth it.
  4. We get to help ourselves in multiple ways on Nov 26th.
  5. Just saw this post from the erstwhile Simon in another thread and just have to bow. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/193659-get-a-grip-people/?p=4355345
  6. He did use pretty much every cliche used on this board against the FO. So, I was giving him the benefit of doubt that he wasnt serious and was simply making a weak attempt at sarcasm. If he/she was sober and serious, no one can help him/her.
  7. Reasons to be optimistic for sure. A lot also hinges on how our sophomores perform this year. I really really hope Lawson and Ragland are, at a minimum, above average. In which case, we should have a great transition year.
  8. I hope the team is being prepared for a rookie QB to take over next year. Just as the Steelers did with BenR - stacked team which a talented young QB just had to guide to the playoffs in his rookie year.
  9. Your rare optimism is refreshing.
  10. Isnt that true of every draft pick ? I think that picking solid players who have extensive college tape (sorry SDS), who fill positions of needs, are highly graded by the scouts and who we did not lose picks for, is reason to be happy about. No ?
  11. College record starting for all three is encouraging. If Dawkins simply puts in the TC effort and is a wiling learner, he wont face much competition. Sure there will be learning pains (more for TT than anyone else) but we have already seen what we have from the incumbents.
  12. Just what we need in times like these - a kinder, gentler Simon.
  13. Note to self - dont attempt sarcasm when drunk at 3:21 am
  14. That info is the first post of this thread. And others have said now, he says trade back is distinct possibility with Mahomes in play
  15. On such things, I trust Leroi and Foster isn't on the bills top-5 list according to him
  16. Does this make him a 'system quarterback' ? I worry about what happens if the Bills change coaches as it limits either his future or the freedom to choose future coaches. Also, does he look like a kid who has demonstrated a good work ethic ?
  17. Threads regarding prospects have a lot of utility value (1) it allows for (hopefully) respectful debate among college football fans who may follow a few teams more closely than others (2) (more importantly) it educates non-college football watchers such as me regarding the top prospects. Belive it or not, I learn a lot more when I read posts from you, Blokes, DaveM etc so do keep it going and (3) its bloody good entertainment to the dispassionate observer None of this deserves some of the hand wringing seen here often.
  18. Jerry Sullivan still writing in 2030 ? That sure is one heck of a nightmare
  19. And that really makes sense. While I agree that we have to keep swinging to get a hit, there is still the question of how much to over-value the QB position. With all the evaluations, I really don't see any consensus picks in the top-10
  20. Earlier in this thread, Leroi had promised to report the Bills' final 5 for the #10 spot. This was that list. Interesting that there is no QB on that list. All those QBs they are looking at must be for the 2nd Rd pick or a tradeback into Rd 1
  21. Your premise itself starts this discussion off on the wrong foot. Not many share this point of view. The Bills are finally giving enough importance to the QB position to not be happy with that they have. They are taking a deeper look at a few and will pick one if the value is there. As Cardale has not played enough, we have no idea which trajectory he will follow. More options are better.
