  1. Maybe Pat's***are the ones who are tanking
  2. Totally disagree. Ryan is taking like an average Joe off the street. What is he adding to the broadcast? At least Gruden has a personality and talks Xs and Os
  3. On the touchdown run by the Broncos "there is a lot going on down there". Well, Rex, for those of us not named Blokestradamus, can you spell out what that 'lot' is?
  4. Not only is he sounding sleepy, he is lulling me to sleep. Ryan's color commentary is a lackluster disaster. It cant last long. I am willing to bet ESPN relieves him of his duties. The lady ain't doing too bad though its taking me time to tune to the female voice calling a football game.
  5. Because it gives me an excuse to get into my basement undisturbed for 3 hours a week
  6. Too funny ! Graham's catch radius required a micrometer to measure
  7. Nice !! Long time since we had one of these.
  8. This thread and some responses leave a lot to be desired.
  9. Washington would be a huge surprise. I expect him to be a Bill for a long time.
  10. Ya but if used in 2018, it would have a 5th rounder value or lower depending on our desperation.
  11. I read iron clad to mean that its not possible to break out of. I was hung up on semantics and also commenting that there is pretty much no contract which cannot be broken. The issue is the price (as in Dareus's contract).
  12. Setting aside the fact that there are no iron clad contracts, would you have given one to Rex Ryan ?
  13. Are you serious or have McBean possessed/brain washed you ?
  14. And yet they prove the point that tanking is a terrible strategy
  15. Which is the last team that tanked and this set themselves up for long term success ? Tanking, mini or full blown, is a totally stupid strategy in today's NFL.
  16. Bottom line is that really wasn't a market for him, GG. Cutler wasn't ready to retire and taking up a booth job was confirmation there weren't any options out there for him. Cutler+ Gase is the best possible scenario for the Dolphins after the Tannehill injury. Gase will limit Cutler and win on D. I think they will end up #2 in the AFCE and sneak into the playoffs.
  17. Stop it else BTM will ask you to shut up too.
  18. That is true because Gase is the head coach and gets the best out of Cutler. This is the best possible situation for Cutler.
  19. Only if he keeps his mouth shut, his jersey tucked, Twitter account disabled and runs the designated routes. Too much to ask?
  20. Exactly. He saying he is annoyed certainly rankled me and even a few days later, I cant get over it for the reasons you stated. He has proven nothing as a GM so far. Poor press conferences are something that Whaley used to regularly get trashed for. Beane's start is no better and the pressure will get worse if the team underperforms. He needs to understand the public aspect of his job real soon.
  21. But, McD and Beane did have a choice. Yet they started off by not exercising that right. They got rid of few players they did not have to, not cos their contract was up, not cos they were over the cap. Their hand was not forced and yet they chose to exchange for decidedly lesser players today. I am all for roster building but you have to start with what you have, work out the rookie kinks (HC and GM), learn to manage the game, show small successes and then go on to become more ambitious. Starting off handicapping yourself on the talent side is tantamount to voluntarily chopping your hand off without needing anyone to tie it for you.
  22. It is too early to make a firm proclamation but the early actions of McD make me suspect he is a control freak like Greggo than a passive personality like Jauron, Beane saying that he is 'annoyed' by the tank suggestion is NOT a good start for him. If this is getting him upset, he has a lot more coming and he better learn to control it and manage his communications. This too is not too alike Levy. I do agree that not valuing the super-skilled players seems to be similar in concept to Jauron/Levy. I am firmly of the opinion that you do need playmakers & leaders on both sides of the ball and the team rounded out by above average players who fit the scheme.
  23. Welcome to GM-ing in the NFL, Mr Beane.
