  1. Must be something about the process that we don't understand
  2. In spirit, I agree that the Bills have made some head scratching personnel decisions in this past off-season which is seriously hurting their chances to win this season. On my list (and I know you dont agree on all of these) are Watkins, Darby, Woods, Gillslee, Williams. I do see that McD has his team prepared for the game and his in-game decisions seem pretty sound, esp for a rookie head coach. BUT, he is severely handicapped by personnel decisions. What I dont know, howwver, is where to lay the blame. Is this McDermott's ego or Beane's ? There is no question Glenn is a better LT but I am not sure Dawkins has fared too badly. There should be a way to get both on the field together if Glenn is healthy. Badol, the frustrating part is that for one reason or the other (draft picks, scheme fit, money), the Bills failed to retain much of the talent which could have made this current season far more successful. I am always against getting rid of players before their replacements are proven capable. Right from the days of Spikes, London Fletcher and all the way to Hogan, Watkins I have lamented how the Bills continue to create holes and never seem to develop a team. I would have liked to think this is why Whaley was fired but not sure Beane and McD are doing anything different. Mortgaging the present for the uncertain future is a recipe for disaster. Age, contracts, QB all are huge problems and some of them could have been avoided with a more savvy personnel department.
  3. Please clarify what you mean. I will be glad to defend my position
  4. I fail to see the pleasure being derived here by some fans due to Watkins' struggles. He did not demand a trade or become a locker-room cancer. Whatever you think of his injury frequencies, it wasnt a deliberate part of his game. It is fair to see how he is performing on another team, but the context needs to be an evaluation of the Bills FO decision, not to find reasons to spite Watkins. He was traded rather uncermoniously by McD/Beane. Again, no fault of his. That he would be more useful on the Bills than the Rams is debatable but is trending in that direction
  5. IMHO, the Bills have to pick a QB high in next year's draft no matter how Peterman plays, if he plays at all. I dont believe in sacrificing a season to evaluate a 5th round QB who doesnt have a strong supporting cast around him. We won against Denver and the Falcons playing mistake free on Offense and solid Defense. COnsidering the team that we have right now, that is the only way we can win. Putting Peterman in risks the 'mistake-free' part big time.
  6. Good post. Things could get really really ugly if you start a rookie QB with a weak(ish) arm and serious lack of WRs (especially any experienced ones to bail him out). I am no TT fan for sure but do recognize that he needs to be the starter for now.
  7. With lack of receiving threats though, that is easily defended against. Zay Jones needed to get his act together this past game and he did not. he had a great grab near the EZ but the ball was uncatchable inside the lines. His impact has been woefully absent. But without him, who do the opposing D's have to fear for catches ? Just stack the box, play contain and spy on TT.
  8. I would also prefer having old posts available in some fashion but its not a huge deal if you dont want to. Also, keep the format of the board simple. I understand some people may like embedded pics and videos but those shouldnt clutter the page. I personally come here for the text content and save for the pics of All-22 , I dont see any value in the memes etc.
  9. Or if we are in a playoff race with the Raiders come December
  10. Rather poor choice of words but the point being made is a good one. Mcd understands the significance of ball security and also that he sweats the details.
  11. Nope slightly overthrown and to the outside. Could have hit him between the DBs
  12. Hanging with the offensive powerhouse. There were opportunities but overall , close and we kept it close
  13. Thanx. Would have been good to have him today. Oh well, Dareus will make up for his absence
  14. Did I miss something ? What happened to Lawson ??
  15. You are a Bills fan and manage to stay calm ? Whats the fun in that ?
  16. 1. Shady to have a good ground game. Their D interior is soft right now, show that we can exploit it 2. ZayJ to have a decent game. Not asking for a huge game. Maybe 5 catches for 60-70 yards would be a nice climb into the NFL 3. Contain the Falcons passing game. Shutting them down is too tall an order. They will get their yards - just limit them and TDs. Restrict them to FGs in the first half and I can see them not able to come back 4. Pressure on Ryan and 3 sacks That we hope for a win is obvious
  17. This is a reality check for the Bills. Are they really an ascending team as the Broncos game would suggest ? Which game was the aberration - the Carolina one or the Broncos one ? This Sunday will give us a good idea regarding the answer.
  18. Wouldn't blame the Bills too much on this . Word was we preferred von Miller but Dareus was the consensus next best pick.Though I agree on his contract. Mistake
  19. Part of being a HC is dealing with headaches. There are some they can influence and some are lost causes. Some are prima Donna's and some are quintessential team players. Cutting bait to head off problems is a lazy solution. Hope this is what you were saying, apologies if I misunderstood.
  20. Dareus has reached the end of the rope. He has used up all excuses. His contract is the only reason he is here.To your point, I think KW plays out 2018 and then retires. MD likely cut/traded (!!) Next year and Bills eat dead money. Next draft will be interesting due to some of these uncontrollable circumstances and self inflicted wounds (Watkins, Darby)
  21. Especially if quarterbacked by Mahomes
