Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.
Fan in Chicago replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honest question - was it a cannon in the context of a High School ? One of the reasons he dropped is apparently due to a average arm. -
I doubt that, or maybe i hope not. McD could not have made the switch based on the past two games alone. Almost all QBs have bad games and you could theorize that it was just chance that 2 happened to be in a row. But that could not have been the evaluation - McD must have gone into this season trying the best to make TT work in Dennison's offense. TT had couple of good games, couple of so-so games and two absolute stinkers. He was trending downwards due to issues which were chronic and not going away. Without doubt you get a QB in the first round next draft. Two good QBs are better than none.

Reading all these posts makes me wonder why NP dropped to the 5th round. What gives ? Can't have just slipped through the cracks.

My Closet, Losman Article, and Madden

You, sir, are a fine man and a balanced poster. For me, JP was the last straw and I have been getting increasingly skeptical of every new QB. When we actually find a good QB, it's going to take time to accept that fact. Cant wait. Hope it's NP but there is no way to tell yet. -

We will see what happens but TT was getting worse as the season went on. I even disagree that he had a good game against the Jets. Even after getting a lot of weapons around him, he couldn't do a competent job of keeping the offense competitive. Lot of the comments on that Twitter link are focusing on the poor run D against the saints. But few commenting on how the O couldn't stay on the field, couldn't sustain drives. As bad as the D was, the O was maddeningly frustrating. Forget winning - at least look half way competent and competitive. TT bears much of the blame in not being able to play from the pocket. This is a chance that had to happen. Hope NP doesn't make the O worse. -

Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game

Closer situational comparison would be Russell Wilson though it remains to be seen if NP gets to be even half as good as him. -
Every Dareus hater, APOLOGIZE
Fan in Chicago replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good coaches can work with players with imperfect attitudes McD on the other hand has this attitude of dumping anyone who doesnt fit his process and system (whatever those are). Dareus was not pulling his weight but whatever little he was doing seemed to hold up our run-D. -

Rather rough wording of your post, but I will freely admit my opinion is trending towards being wrong. Yep you did. I disagreed with you and so far, it looks like I was wrong with the expected (non) effect on the Bills run D/ -
Another case where stats dont tell the whole story. TT has very little in-game consistency. He has had that problem every year. Even in the Jets game, he could not control the momentum of the game for the better part of 3 quarters. That the scores came late was no help. This is not new. He displayed this same maddening trait in each of his first years with the Bills. Yet, true to form, the supporters forget the in game performances, focus on the stats and think that TT is some dynamic playmaker who the Bills can win with. Frankly he is a backup QB in the league. I was supporting him for this year, but now think that Peterman should start the rest of the way. And no matter how he plays, we should draft a QB high in the next draft.

I was trying to be cute. If you have two second opinions, one of them is a third opinion. :-) -

Why did our D suck so bad tonight?
Fan in Chicago replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So besides the penalties part, you are laying the entire blame at the feet of the D ? What about the O where the run game was non existent, passing game was inconsistent at best, there was inability to keep a drive going, taking deep shots, scoring ..... -
Whether this was just an off night for the Bills or if the real team showed up, will become clear in next few weeks ofcourse. But this is a silly hypothesis. With an entirely new coaching staff, several new players, scheme etc. Ryan has zero inside information. And even if he did, the dumb dude wouldnt know what it meant.

Good post, as usual Virgil. It is always productive to evaluate a loss, as it is to evaluate a win. You have to know what the team does best and what its weak points are. The team should not get in a funk, sure. But that is not to say they cannot learn from a very bad night I am not one to pin the loss on TT but he was a huge reason for the loss too. In the couple of times where the camera angle was correct, you could see a receiver or two streaking right across from him and he hesitated. Guy just doesnt trust his own eyes and thinks way too much. He has shown signs of improvement this season, but yesterday's game was a return to last year's form. The problem is that the stat line will show he had a great game but as happens way too often with him, the game's direction is clearly decided by his limitations.

I know this thread is about the D, but the O wasnt doing them any favors last night. Horrid Offense last night -
Talent and/or character
Fan in Chicago replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every team has to have a blend of playmakers and role players who 'fit the scheme'. Besides the obvious QB position, there needs to be at least one star for positions such as DE, CB, WR and T. I agree we are undertalented at several of these positions Another aspect is leadership - besides KyleW, I will be hard pressed to identify who the clear leaders are in the locker room. Maybe several are too new to the team but we need a few of them. I am hoping yesterday's game was an anomaly and we get back on track in 10 days. -
Bellichick reportedly getting ready to retire
Fan in Chicago replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel that way too. The Bills should beat his team a few times in a row and by huge margins before he retires. I want at least one game where the Bills run up the score and go for it on 4th down when up by 30.
