  1. You of course realize that your paragraphs can both be true, right?
  2. Maybe this one take is simplistic but it is the body of criticisms that amount to a single fact - that TT is just not a very good QB. His skill set is very limited and his defense always sounds very very Spiller-esque in nature. Needs a very narrow set of circumstances and supporting cast to be effective. With that limited a window to be effective, his job as a starting QB is never going to be secure. Spiller too bounced around a bit till it was conclusively proven that he just wasnt a good starting RB. My hot take is that the same thing will happen with TT in Cleveland. Hard working, good guy, team mate, nice deep ball - but ultimately not a good QB with his major claim to fame being the limited turnovers. Not going to win a lot of games if thats all he has going for him.
  3. Hope is not a strategy. As Hapless said, they were well positioned in a QB rich draft and blew it. Prepare for the Colts to be bad for a very long time.
  4. Please stop. Your opinions on people's weight is irrelevant to this thread, no matter how you twist your words and try to make an issue. Continuing to proselytize is more than a little annoying. If you feel so strongly about this topic, go to OTW and yap all you want.
  5. But, how can you ban something you cannot recognize? Could be a harmless herbal supplement from the Amazons (the forest) or a new designer PED.
  6. If this is a serious post, Allen's arm is not the immature one around these parts.
  7. I dont see how a third round pick conclusively moves Steelers from contender status (even if I choose to disagree that they are contenders just yet). Him specifically talking about a guy who was picked to be his successor points to his comments beyond just a hope for team improvement. Does he agree with each and every pick the Steelers have made in the past ? As they say, the optics (and I hate that word) on this are just not good. And a QB's public face is largely that - image management.
  8. Again, not my point. Are you excusing Ben's quotes ? I am not understanding your position on this point.
  9. I kinda like Benoit but this logic makes little sense. He really doesnt comment on Rudolph's potential, if he was worthy of a 3rd round pick. I bet that if Rudolph was picked in round 1 or 2, they would have been criticized for reaching. As for Big Ben, what a totally self-centered way of looking at the draft. He should have taken the classy route and mentored Rudolph for couple of years and ridden off into the sunset. Not saying he wont do it, but this is not a good way to start a guru-disciple relationship. Guy has been hobbling for a while and there is no way for even him to know if his skills can last 3-4 years. Even for his own sake, he should be focused on one more Superbowl and leaving his legacy as a Steeler team with a solid QB for the future. Instead he blew his chance for that positive first impression.
  10. YOU are going to school NoSaint? ???
  11. Exactly as it should be. Passing league, high cost of good DBs on the open market, possibility of most turning out average at best, we were short DBs ...... I firmly believe every draft should include at least one DB.
  12. Red flags existed on each of the top 5 QBs. There was no clear consensus that any of them is a cant-miss prospect.
  13. Do you seriously believe this ??
  14. How ironic that a Pats** fan posts a reasonable post in a sea of pessimism.
  15. I wasnt looking to him for opinion on the pick. I think it was nice to post a supportive tweet.
  16. Was thinking about this a couple of weeks back - for all the pissing and moaning a few years back about the lack of good QBs , a fair amount of talent has entered the league over the past few years. Wentz, Goff, Cousins, Prescott. Watson (Maybe Trubisky, Mahomes) and now this class. If 3-4 of the big 5 from this year turn out to be good, we can look forward to a decade of some pretty entertaining football. But I can readily sacrifice that competition as long as Allen is the one who does great
  17. Love Eric Wood. I wonder if he has the smarts to come back as a position coach.
  18. better compared to who ? And why ?
  19. Lamar Jackson still on the board !
