  1. Well said, Dave.i think back to Phil Jackson and the Bulls. He had to manage an ego maniac like Michael Jordon, a horny weirdo like Rodman and the nice boy Kerr to win multiple championships.
  2. The issue (one of them) is getting rid of players without an adequate contingency plan and lack of effort in securjng credible alternatives. You can reconcile away individual players such as Darby and Dareus but they chipped away at the roster. Goodwin, Woods and Watkins all together were very good. We should have retained at least two of them. They would have undoubtedly helped Allen and eased his learning. This point cannot be debated against.
  3. I get that they were trying to build up cap space but why sacrifice an entire season to get there ? I am no capologist but surely there are less painful ways to get there. And how did getting rid of AJM/keeping Peterman fit into this logic ? It does not. What about preaching performance yet continuing to hang on to Crossman ? I have been all about patience but it ran out sometime during the Jauron/Gailey years.
  4. Last year's team did very well but overachieved only in the sense that they got to the playoffs. Be that as it may, the success should have been a launching pad for a better 2018 season yet it is obvious that the team as a whole regressed. There really is no logic to loading up on defense at such a serious disregard for the offense. You are willing to excuse that as a 're-build' but I say there really was no reason to do that. A more balanced approach and a less "not drafted by me syndrome" would have been a practical way to go. How many new coaches are credited with over-achievement only to follow it up with a bad next season due to the lop-sided talent loading ? Getting at least one OL, getting a receiver like Crabtree would have been totally doable in this past offseason. Then there is a mis-judgment of the QB situation despite ample proof from last year that IntercePeterman will never ever be good enough to be on a roster. The trading of AJM was a monumental mistake. I am not willing to write it off as the price of such a re-build. Much as I disagree with BADOL, I am with him on this point that we kept getting this bill of goods in the package of a "re-build" when there is little other evidence that it is a strategy which is a winning one in the long run. It makes me sad to see the turn around by teams like the Rams, 49ers when we continue to wallow in mediocrity.
  5. That hit should have been called . Wasn't fate as much as a cheap shot on Allen
  6. What kind of answer are you getting right now with Allen? What exactly is he learning? I don't mind drafting another QB but any rookie should get at least 2 seasons before giving up on him. Goff is the most recent good example of taking a huge step up after a terrible rookie season. McBeane had set up the O for failure. The least they can do is minimize the damage
  7. Interesting thought to just sit him the rest of the season. Here is the problem though. I see McD as a stubborn and over confident coach not particularly great at judging QB talent. (Should never have traded AJM without seeing IntercePeterman in real game action, particularly when he knew what happened last year). He will continue to try tell Daboll to scheme around NP' weaknesses and set an all time record of QB rating. Anderson has not been around long enough but maybe he is smart enough to pick up the offensive playbook (playpage?) Adequately enough to get by. Even if he protects the ball and plays small ball, it will be better than what NP offers. Still need another QB though. NP had been on the roster 10 months too long. Sorry for the rambling. I am pretty disappointed in McBeane's handling of the Offensive side of the roster.
  8. If we had a choice, any choice, Peterman should be let go tomorrow. Sickeningly horrific performance. I was elated at the TD throw and thought he may have turned the corner. Dude should be out of the league. Trading AJM was too premature
  9. No shortage of bullets to shoot ourselves in the foot
  10. You think it wouldnt help if Zay made that catch??
  11. The Wr are doing no favors for the struggling rookie. This is where lack of veteran Wr hurts
  12. The day that Crossman gets fired will be 3 years too late
  13. While I love Shady, I wouldn't mind parting with him in a player for player trade that brings help on O. Ivory has been running pretty hard
  14. This line of thinking is really annoying. I am critical of the roster in general but do appreciate maximizing what we have. The fact the Allen didn't panic, fumble, throw an ill-advised pass or miss the easy throws . All while draining the clock in the process must be given kudos. Yet, many in here and in the article above lament what amounts to Allen not measuring up to an established QB. Sure the coaches don't trust him yet but does anyone really want him to gun it to the likes of doink-Holmes or dropsie-Benjamin and risk an interception ?
