Who was GM when Jason Peters was dealt?
Fan in Chicago replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Parker did what he was paid to do. OTOH, the Bills set a value for both Peters and byrd. In Peters case, they were wrong but they were correct re:Byrd. -
Depends on how you define winter severity. Some people equate it to snowfall and not temperatures. Chicago certainly gets a lot colder (speaking from experience and not statistics) but there is no comparison of the snowfall quantities. Of the two "evils", I prefer a place with less snow as cold is easier to deal with when you have cars in the garage and trains to commute to work. When it snows, everyone is affected negatively.

Shady throwing shade at Bills O lineman
Fan in Chicago replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is virtually a given that adding good OLinemen will help the running game. But what we don't know is if Shady will suddenly become a big weapon behind a better OL , older by 2 years compared to 2017. We should add another RB with our 3rd or 4th round pick -

I should try using that logic with my wife when I see another pretty woman. ? -
There is only one game this weekend where I care about who loses. No prizes for guessing which one.

Bills fire ST Coach Danny Crossman

Finally! Better late than never -
I had just started working and was back in Buffalo to hang out with friends who were still at UB. Game was blacked out, and we went to this little breakfast joint near the Amherst campus, where the $1 theater stood before. That place was greasy, messy but served an egg, 2 toasts and 2 bacon, sausage pieces for $1!! Coffee was $0.60. anyway, we were listening to the game on their radio ( yeah we used to go there for 'breakfast' after noon) and were frustrated at half time. But then the comeback started and we stayed there listening till the end of the game. Lovely memories!

2019 NFL Draft: Bills officially picking 9th
Fan in Chicago replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given a choice, I would choose a C. We need long term stability at that important position (for the QB) -

Fantastic news ! This the ideal QB stable for any team and a mix which I have been wishing for since JP got drafted. -

Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
Fan in Chicago replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you Kyle for showing everybody what dedication, hard work and positive attitude can help achieve. While we always hoped it will be "one more year" , it is totally understandable. Happy retirement. Thank you for your contributions. -
The Rosen Era Has Begun in Arizona
Fan in Chicago replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is clear that the FO did not help the rookie QB but if Benjamin and Clay had put in effort and performed, the results would be a lot better perhaps translating into a couple of more wins and a more fair chance of evaluating Allen. For that reason, I marginally hate KB and Clay - they did not earn a single paycheck. -
Chunk plays definitely need to be part of a successful offense. But I sorta disagree that the grind-it-out offense does not have a part in the success of a team. While passing game is the current and possible future, the team with a good run based offense has a better chance of winning. In situations where the opposition has had a long drive and our D needs a rest, we get the opposition on a quick 3 and out and need the opposing QB to sit and stew for while, sealing a game.... Having the benefit of a extended drive aided by running and short/medium passing game can help a team gain/keep momentum and frustrate the opposition. As always, a balanced team has a better chance but I do agree that all (other) things being equal, the one with big play potential will likely win.

Matt Barkley extended for two years
Fan in Chicago replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Evident from the responses in this thread is that the "you guys" are in an overwhelming majority. Sure his one Bills game will show like his career highlight reel but we do not know how the coaches will game plan if he is to start. Much of the responsibilities in case of Allen going down is how McD game plans. The solid team has a good defense and a run based passing game. We already have a solid D and if we add good O talent, I think that a Barkley can lead a team to win half his games. Given that many teams still struggle to establish starting QBs, a solid backup is also rare to have. You are entitled to your opinion ofcourse but I believe this is a good move. -
Matt Barkley extended for two years

Very good extension but truth be told, it wasnt like Beane actively sought him out early. We stumbled across him when we were woefully short on QBs.
