  1. Bills should go all-in to win it all next year. Even if it means a few 1-yr "prove it" deals for key roles
  2. Yes. Watching Brady that way would have been lot more enjoyable
  3. How can you possibly enjoy Brady do this in yet another Superbowl? Much as I dislike the Chiefs for what they did to the Bills, no way I can enjoy Brady play with another team in a superwbowl
  4. No matter who you cheer for, this is a terribly uncompetitive and boring Superbowl
  5. "I"? Are you speaking as a Bills Fan and implying they should have shipped off Allen? I really hope I am misunderstanding you
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if Beane tries to trade him. In the draft, you look for the NFL equivalent of a college graduate degree. Bills shoukd not be in the business of putting players through college and hoping they graduate to be job- worthy in time for a second contract. Especially first rounders
  7. My premise is that if you want to prove you can be an effective running team (when you need to grind out the clock, give your D a break, get a critical 1st down, in the RZ etc), then we need to do it on a more frequent basis. Simply saying it and doing it on a few occasions is not adequate. Secondly, our run pass ratio ranking is #11 (just below KC) but we had to pass close to 70% of the time in the playoffs as opposed to 61.7% overall. This has to change starting with the regular season. This year, you can point to the Pats** game and perhaps another couple where we really established the run but on average, we couldnt run when we needed to in the playoffs (notwithstanding your stats below). Your last para is a good example of effective running but there is no magical switch. We have to run on a consistent basis with more runs sprinkled into the overall O game plan. Else next season, teams are going to look at our 3 Playoff games and devise an effective plan to neutralize the O. Yea, sorry. I didnt proof read my post You are correct. I have no illusions - the O runs through Allen's arm (now dont knock me for my grammar 😀)
  8. Imo, the Bills cant prove that they are effective in their running if they dont run more in the next season. We ofcourse will never be a pass-first team with Allen at the helm, but our percent & YPC by RBs *has* to increase. Else the threat wont be real. An effective run game and sustained higher run/pass ratio will create more big play opportunities for Diggs. His total yards may drop compared to this year but that is acceptable if it means we are better balanced to beat the Chiefs
  9. With so many QBs reportedly coming available via trade, there may be a "run on QBs" starting soon. I think the OP's point was that due to this sudden market movement, all QBs will be over-valued. Much of this hoopla is due to Tannehill's success with the Titans, ignoring the fact that it is quite rare for a discarded QB to find good success with his second team.
  10. I will PM you. I had enjoyed your Kim Jong QB thread and hence pulled you in. I wasnt aware of any sensitivities.
  11. Perhaps McD has learnt that process may only get you so far. To win the big one, you need some nasties and if one of them comes with an ego, so be it. I think there is sufficient team spirit around to dilute JJ's ego. I am not saying it will happen, but i feel that we were one of the 4 best teams. Our target is now the Chiefs. We have to add the few missing pieces to beat them. JJW fills one of the holes.
  12. Oh I fully agree. Save for that one superbowl season where he basically babysat a superstar roster to the Lombardi, he hasnt had much coaching success. Yet he happened to be revered around the league. After gutting much of the roster and re-building it per his needs, the results are under-whelming. He should have built the team around Carr. But next season will be his year of reckoning.
  13. Not denying that Gruden will try to get rid of him. If not for anything else, it buys him 2 more years of excuses.
  14. Paging @4merper4mer
  15. Imo, he is neither. In the couple of games I saw this year, he seemed to show flashes of the talent he displayed in his first couple of years. But something is off now and I couldnt place my finger on it (and I dont have the inclination to re-watch Raiders games). Not supported by stats, but I feel he could still serve as an adequate starter if the rest of the team is above average. Or as a bridge QB. I for one am not ready to relegate him to the scrap heap yet. But I do think Gruden is very optimistic if he thinks he can get 2 x 1st round picks for him
  16. Yes we do. D scheme may be one thing but the coaches can only scheme around talent till a certain point. When you are down to the four best in the league, the flaws in personnel showed up. We need more talent at key positions
  17. So Goff and Wentz both feel out of favor with the team that drafted them high. Unprecedented.
  18. I really wouldn't be surprised if he makes a player-for-picks move (or two). Such as (not saying this exact player) Edmunds for a couple of picks
  19. How did you come to that conclusion while quoting C.Biscuit's post ?
  20. I understand and appreciate your view and you make a cogent argument. My question was related to an undercurrent of dislike for Whaley because he did not succeed as a GM for the Bills. As you did, its fair to questions his credentials as a game strategy evaluator but simply dismissing his views due to his job performance is not the right way to look at it. Imo, if Whaley had prioritized and taken a good QB early in his tenure, his stay with the Bills would have been viewed far more sympathetically. Beane has built a good team overall but truth be told, he has not really hit on many of his high picks. As examples, the performances from Oliver, Epenesa, Knox, Singletary have been underwhelming related to where they were picked. I dont want to hijack this thread in that direction but wanted to make a point that picking a good QB covers up for a lot of other draft mistakes
  21. So, setting aside these two points : - most on here dislike Whaley (agree that he was not a good GM but not a bad person) - Beane is a better GM (which I agree with) are there specific area where you guys disagree with Whaley ? why does his sub-par job with Bills disqualify him from expressing his views on the game and coaching ?
  22. I was talking to a colleague who is a Chiefs fan and he didn't quote numbers but thought that they may have to cut a few good players in the off-season. He and I both agreed that their window to win a second one is now.
  23. No way. Not Brady, Not Belichick, not the Pats.
