Did you think the D played well against the Colts ?
-
Yep. Can't go into next season believing that Star was the sole missing piece. He may help but could turn up Friday, too light, too unmotivated or all of the above. It's that thing opposing QBs complete cos our D doesn't get sufficient pressure 😁
-
Statistically, perhaps you are correct. But they got man handled in the playoffs. The goal post has clearly shifted. Getting to the playoffs or AFCCG is no longer enough.

Bills re-sign Levi Wallace

Would you be really upset if the Bills selected a hybrid S/LB with one of their top 3 picks ? I think its an emerging need on the team and wouldnt mind it. -
Yes he is
-
Also shows how fast and far a #2 overall pick has fallen. $2.5 MM is ridiculously cheap
-
I have a few of his games and didn't expect him to sink to backup status so fast. Clearly an upgrade to the QB room

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]

Not sure of this dude's credibility, but now that we have Trubisky, this deal can be done. -
Out of T&A, at least he chose the right one

You and several others here are assuming Cam will be the starter next season. The money he got was backup level. I will be very surprised if the Pats** go into next season with the same QBs. They can still pull off a trade it draft a QB who resembles the early Brady in his skill set. From afar, it looks like that team is being built to stop the opposition and provide a team in which a young QB can succeed. The OP's question is very much valid. At many points, the Bills have struggled to cover 1 good TE. They better have a plan to cover 2 Scared? Being concerned about a division rival's moves doesn't equate to fear

The Brown of 2020 was less impactful than the 2019 Brown. Could be due to Diggs taking over as #1 but the offense in 2020 needed him less plus he was injured for several games. The O effectiveness did not drop in his absence but we do need a speedster. Imo, Sanders' being more available and lot of experience should help the O more than Brown would have. Guys, don't fixate on the delta dollars. We slightly over paid for Sanders but he provides more value

Bills sign Emmanuel Sanders

A couple of years later than I hoped for but glad he is here. He is a vet and will help the offense a lot. Good signing. Now we need a dependable TE and the receiving corps will be one of the top ones in the NFL -
Breaking: Daryl Williams signs 3 year extension

Much of what you are saying is predicated upon hope. Unless a FA is available, I think adding an OL high in the draft is required. I rather not leave this to the chance that a full TC, Ford returning from injury and more emphasis on the running game will somehow make the O more balanced. -

I meant in the playoffs but teams next season will pick up on the Bills offensive struggles in the playoffs. We have to keep progressing and morphing else that same record won't be possible -

Bills cannot go into the next season with the same OL and RBs and expect different results. Unless the brass believes in Ford at G will be the difference. I am not convinced. A C/G option has to be added . What's the basis to believe that they are good enough? What exactly will change next season with the same personnel on the OL? Of course they need help on D line, TE . Probably not at RB if the OL changes . -

We have now locked in both tackles and C. The situation with guards is still fluid but we cannot go into next season with the same plan as this year. There has to better run blocking as the scheme won't change with Daboll continuing as OC. I don't see Beane spending a pick on another RB till late in the draft.. So the options are Feliciano and Ford as G . But a lot depends on the coaching staff a belief in Ford. If his struggles wee due to injury and changing positions, then they may ride with these two. But I would like to add a road grader G/C in FA or high in the draft. We better have a plan for balanced O next season and not depend on Allen to always come up with magic. The playoffs showed that the strategy will only take you so far. -

Cam About To Re-Sign With New England
Fan in Chicago replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO, if you have to think real hard about something, it isnt common sense. Cam was quite terrible last year and paying that amount for a backup who cannot be relied on to win without an excellent team and coaching, just smells of desperation at best and bad roster management at worst. I understand that as a fan you want to feel good about it, but trust the guys on this board. We were on the other side for a decade and know how reality conflicts with fan dom. -
Thanks. So it will be a one-time hit this year. But the cap hit is pretty large Thanks, Hopeful
-
I havent read the entire thread and am not a capologist - How does the impact on our cap change if he is traded (assuming for a moment that we do find a willing trade partner)? Maybe throw in a 6th or 7th rounder along with him to sweeten the pot.

Thoughts on a Marquise Goodwin reunion?

Looks like John Brown was released
Fan in Chicago replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks to John Brown for his time and the best for his future. His release makes a lot of sense for the Bills from a financial and availability standpoint. While the O didn't really underperform with him off the field, we need another speed option (and not as brittle as Glass Goodwin) to take advantage of Allen's arm and keep defenses honest.
