  1. It's funny the recurrent themes here from year to year. After this season everyone will be talking about what a poor coaching staff we have. lol
  2. Money's not the problem otherwise Teague would have been great. Fowler's getting $2.5M/year to play what, center? If we don't get near top preformance from him, then it has nothing to do with money. Talent is what we need. We don't have any. Fowler has been a backup. To have paid him that kind of money was retarded. Anderson got more money than Gandy too. Look at what happened there. Peters should simply learn how to play RT before they even consider trying him at LT. He doesn't even have a full season of OL starting under his belt. And annointing him the next House Ballard is premature to be sure.
  3. Let's just hope that doesn't continue to be a big mystery to our own coaching staff just as its been for a long time now.
  4. It may be nice, but it's not going to happen. Explain a few things; "but I do think ML and DJ have a plan and seem committed to carrying it out based on the draft and the types of players they have signed in free agency." What "types" of players would those be? What are their backgrounds, accolades, etc.? What is that plan, specifically? Describe the "types" of players drafted? In other words, what kind of experience do they have? How many years did they start in college? How old are they? What are the precedents for players' performances upon entering the NFL under similar circumstances? Your post and sentiment looks good on the surface, but simply "catching the league by surprise because our preseason rankings are low" isn't a smart thing to bankroll a wager on.
  5. Bledsoe
  6. 6-10? I could make a lot of money wagering on our record with people in here. LOL
  7. 2000 was the Pats only losing season in five years at the time. It was a blip, not a pattern. It happened mostly because Bledsoe crapped his pants that season. Regarding the Rams, I'd be a little more concerned with the trend of the Rams while Fairchild was coaching. But ya missed that part, huh. What's that you say, he didn't have the talent? I see. LOL
  8. OK, so how is this different from what Marv has done? Can you name a single GM that doesn't "talk a good game?" What are they supposed to say, "Sorry fans, but our team just sucks. It's gonna be a while before I can straighten this ridiculous mess out." Was Fairchild, Fewell, Jauron part of a championship team? Do they even have much experience relatively speaking? If you like Levy, you've got both feet in it again.
  9. Head Coach
  10. Didn't Derrick Burroughs or one of the other Houston Oiler WRs wear "00"?
  11. If the sun rises in the west tomorrow, should I go back to bed?
  12. OK there Pete! What I remember is a revolving door of offensive linemen. Drafting McGahee over Eric Steinbach while then drafting Sobieski in the 5th round, injured, and trying to sell Bills fans that Sobieski was really the glue behind the Iowa line. Trading up to draft Denney "because Pittsburgh wanted him." Selecting Kelsay the very next year with an early 2nd rounder. Trading away a slew of useful picks for Losman who barely played. and then of course last offseaosn's marvelous draft featuring Parrish and Everett, either of which has yet to prove that they can last in this league. Under Donahoe it was the "All Talk, no Walk" express. The Pittsburgh game to end the '04 season was his crowning achievement. The man simply didn't know what the hell he was doing. To pick out four players, all from a single draft in which Donahoe probably had his least involvement in from five years ago, and two of which are long gone and a third that has one foot out the door, isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
  13. Maybe they are taking out half the seats so that they can still claim sell outs this year.
  14. By the bye week everyone will be lambasting Levy and Jauron saying that they don't know what the hell they are doing.
  15. Maybe I should put up a website just asking people to send me money if these things sell.
  16. We had one key injury, no more. That was team wide and it was Spikes. We didn't lose a single other "key" player to injury. Not one starter elsewhere.
  17. "Coach Jauron is definitely a players coach --- very prepared and professional. I like him a lot. Coach Fewell is big on being prepared and he's very serious about us knowing our assignments and executing. He brings a lot to the team with his organization and preparation. " I sure am glad that we didn't get coaches that were unprepared, unprofessional, and weren't serious or organized. Phew! We sure avoided disaster there.
  18. That would have been his share. If all owners thought the way that he did, the Bills would have a lot less money too. I don't know how the new CBA has changed that.
  19. Right. So now their second-rate RBs will log 175 yard games against us. Good thinking.
  20. Just think though, after Villarrial, Fletcher, McGahee and Clements leave following the season, in two or three seasons we'll have one of the best secondaries in the league with no other talent. Doesn't that excite you.
  21. Hey tennesseeboy, yours is a great post to pick on, so I will. No disrespect intended, really. 1. Your opinion offers no real basis for it. So it's just that, an opinion without any validation. 2. Many would use the term miserable. But the point is that it won't be nearly as strong as opposing defensive lines, which will make it miserable. Also, you suggest the use of lots of 2 TE sets. Where did you get this from? Have you heard the organization say this? Why all the emphasis on WRs and why did we hire Fairchild as an OC then? It doesn't add up. Again, pure opinion with little validation. 3. If McGahee didn't have "something to prove" this past season after two wasted seasons, then he won't have it this year. 3b. Again, why the overemphasis on WRs then? Why do we have Evans and two other WRs signed to big money in Reed and Price if only two are usually going to see the field? 4. Your opinion is based purely on how DJ interacts with ML and the players and doesn't account for the team's lack of talent at all. 5. All you did was to predict something, again, without much historical support as junior draftees rarely step up to produce in their first seasons, and without much reason otherwise. 6. This doesn't seem to coincide with the rest of your predictions. We probably won't win many road games as we only won one last year and this year's road schedule is also tough. I can't see us winning over two or three home games either, and that's only if the cards fall right. I see a lot of optimistic posts like yours, but the question that you have to ask yourself is why do you believe what you do and is that a solid reason for that belief or a soft indicator. Your views are all predicated on soft indicators, which isn't unusual this offseason. I'm not trying pick on you, but yours was a great post to illustrate the false reasons for hope for this team this fall or even next year. Someone in another post mentioned that our only key players were Spikes, McGahee, Schobel, Clements, and Evans. Probably true. But McGahee and Clements won't be here next season. Who knows how Spikes will come back. Leaving only Evans and Schobel to build around unless some other players step up to that level this season which doesn't appear to be very likely.
  22. You can disagree all you want to. As I see it you are also ignoring facts in favor of opinions based on very little other than simply being a fan and wanting it to happen. You can run out and buy a lottery ticket and the chances of winning are what they are, not what you hope. I would argue that my points weren't negative as you suggest, but simple indicators of reality. As to losing every game only if "everything goes wrong," not really. We suck. We're not good. Contrary to anyone's opinion, a handful of juniors out of the draft isn't going to help much this year, especially since most are in the secondary. If we can't stop the run, we can have a pro bowl secondary and it's not gonna matter. Why would anyone throw on us when they can average 5.0 rushing? When the DBs are forced to cheat up, you then throw the ball. Besides, a bunch of junior rookies aren't going to be at pro bowl level anytime soon. We aren't good meaning that just about every team on our schedule is better than we are with the possible exception of the Jets. Even Tennessee and Green Bay have improved. We sucked on the road last season and don't have an easier schedule on the road this year. So 0-8 on the road is a distinct possibility. I agree that it's nearly as impossible to go 0-16 as it is 16-0, but he didn't guarantee 0-16 and insist that we would be, he simply said that we have a legitimate shot at it. I think many of you are going to be surprised at how few games we win this season. It won't be more than last year. If we can win two at home we may be fortunate. As to our O-line being good, what is your basis for that statement? Because we flat out sucked on our OL last year, or weren't you aware of that. Our best lineman is a year older now and in his mid thirties. All that we did was sign a bunch of guys the likes of what we've been signing now for many seasons, other teams backups. I hope too that I'll be surprised, but I'm thinking here that the surprise will be to you and anyone else thinking that we're going to be better this year than last. There are far too many issues on this team the least of which is that we just don't have the talent to be anything other than bad. Few of our best players are in their prime anymore. Only Schobel, Spikes, and Clements are in it on D and we just don't have any on O. Evans is our only promising up and coming young player offensively. That's not a recipe for me to be surprised that we'll win games. It's a recipe that we won't match last season's 5-11 mark. I'd put up a friendly wager that says we don't win a single road game this season other than maybe against the Jets. I also can't see us beating the Pats, Fins, Jags or Chargers at home. I'm also not foolish enough to think that we win the other four home games. That's not a recipe for a good season.
  23. Talk is one thing, actions are another. Besides, WTH do you expect CV to say about Jauron, his new boss? Come on here. As to seeing someone else outplay him, it'd be a very sad testimony to our roster of linemen if someone can't. Unfortunately it may not happen, which speaks for itself. The Bills at present have one of the worst lines in the league.
  24. Same exact reason why Whitner and McCargo are penciled in as being great already.
  25. Part of it was executing an decent offseason too and that didn't happen.
