Its not that i dont know what im talking about... its an opinion and i had a freudian slip on the last name. I dont commit everyone in the drafts name to memory so I apologize for that. Still its my opinion as well as yours. I do understand what your talking about but because someone doesnt know the name i do not discount them. But when they know nothing about the player I do. For ex at work this Patriot fan ( i live in NE so im surrounded by them) was talking to me about the Bills problem is the QB JP and we needed to get rid of him. I stuck to my convictions I have had about JP before we Drafted him yet my coworkers lack of knowledge of him irritated me and towards the end of the season he retracted saying I was right about JP. Im not an expert on anything I was just offering my perception of the team I have loved for 17 years.

I have been reading alot of posts and over the past years there have been some well thought out opinions on this board but this year i am not seeing it heres why. First lets touch on Mcgahee and the Facts. He has never been happy with the fact that we drafted him and didnt pay him what he felt a 1st rounder was worth. He wasnt happy because he felt his TD incentives werent going to be reached because the team wouldnt use him in the red zone. He wasnt happy with Buffalo stating he wanted to go to a warmer environment and mentioned many of times over the last two years about his contract and wanting to be traded. He never looked to be on the same page with JP over Jp's starting tenure. Worst of all he could not be counted on in 3rd and short situations. He doesnt have the break way speed he had in college and his hands were not that great. JP did great dumping to the RB when the RB was Anthony Thomas. Now that we have traded him every wants us to waste our 1st rnd pick on a running back in a draft that none of the RBS are worth drafting in the first. Jauron has the right plan this year and that is running back by committe and Anthony Thomas is definately one we need to resign Im not sure about the rest of you but I seen him run harder than WM evry time he touched the ball there was a game where on 10 attempts WM had a 1.5 average while Thomas had a 10 yd avg and i wondered why they didnt keep giving him the ball. So to compliment Thomas we need another runner injury prone or not Chris Brown is the best option. Spikes isnt being as actively Traded as WM was and based on on my understanding of comments Spikes will be with us this upcoming season leaving us a MLB and 2 CB to be replaced and there are two great options that should be available to us in the First round and that is Leon Hall and Patrick Willis and to be honest with you after watching Marv smirk when he said he had options of trading into the first round leads me to believe he is going to try and Draft both of these players. Youboty is not ready to be a starter maybe a nickle back but not a starter and the Bills are aware of this and Hall looks like hes ready to start immeadately. The other position of need after that is a FB and i dont see where they are going to get some one or who is left the might be targeting the could be adressing this in the draft or not. So essentially I see them drafting on the first Day these positions of need. 1A Leon Hall-CB 1b Patrick Willis-LB 3rd Rd(frm baltimore)- Darius Walker-RB Overall I am not as uncomortable witht he moves that are being made. Our offensive line is a huge improvment over any of the past 5 years regardless of how much we paid them. Essentially we should be able to run thte ball well regardless of who has the ball and be able to protect the QB. The defense needs to get younger and faster and there is no way i would have spent 10 mil a year on Clements hes not a TY Law Champ Bailey type of player. QBS have never been intimated at throwing in his direction and Bellichek really degraded him last year when talking about him and hes considered the defensive genious. The Fact is players leave every year every team in the leaugue has this problem and big name siginings does not equal playoffs just ask the Redskins they havent made the play offs and the sign and trade for every marquee player available. Its teams like the Patriots who build there team through the DRAFT and sign free agents that fly under the radar for the most part. Im not down on this upcoming season. I will see how the rest of FA goes and especially the Draft and once I get a look at our product on the field then I can determine where we will be. Last year I was only two games off and they played even better than I expected them to hanging around in close games they could have won only to lose a heartbreaker. The fact is the team is an improved product even without fletcher/clements and Mcgahee hell our defense gave away atleast 4 games last year so there is definately a need to improve in this area. But the main point is this it typically takes 3 years for a new Gm/Coach to rebuild a team that is going to compete for the playoffs and in that aspect they seem to be ahead of the pace because they could have a team on the field this year that could be on the brink if not this year they are definatley on track for Next year being a play off year. We need to have realistic expectations and be happy when we are being talked about in playoff contention with 2 weeks left in the season knowing if we got in we wouldnt make it out of the first rd. We need to improve on that this year.

our first 2 picks are going to the defense cb and lb.

I agree with you toatally. As much as I would have liked to have kept clements the truth is this team cannot afford to pay one player 80 mill. Essentially we got 3 players in return for 75 mil and mostm of our draft pool of 5 mill which is another 6-7 players for the price of one. I think it was smart for our team we finally adressed the weak offensive line. People who know this team knows we let go of our high priced corners and we plug in rookies to replace them such as clements, winfield, mcgee. People seem to also forget the impact sam cowart had a ML whn he was a rookie unti he tore his achilles. They are sppending smart to give us a competive team Just because a player isnt making 10 mil a year on our team does not mean we are going to suck.

I think there is too much HYPE for the Bears the team to beat. Ok so i asked the question who have they beaten-Detroit-Greenbay-convincingly but so has other teams thru the first 4 weeks. The y Bear-ly got by Minnesotta-We did beat them too. The most impressive win Was against Seattle-but was it without Sean Alexander-maybe-or not. What i know are two things-CHicago is not unbeatable and the teams the beat really arent that impressive and when things dont go there way they will collapse. I also know that I have seen the Bills-the major underdogs this year outplay all of there opponents this season thus far and could just as easily be 4-0 as well. But our reality is we are still learning to win and have ateam of players that want to prove it to themselves more than anyone else that they are as good as the beleive they are and will try and make the mark in the Loss column for the Bears and going above 500 for the first time this season. This team has grit and a no give up attitude which is what t has been lacking for years. The will fight it out to the las minute. IF they do lose it will be the same as the other 2 losses rookie mistakes. All in all this team is impressing me. Though i have no real expectations this season except that the get better. Thus far they have exceeded that by plying dominating football and they have only beaten themselves. The other team got the win but they have been able to capitalize on out rookie mistakes. Hopefully they walk away with this one.

Little bit of right with a little bit of wrong
Poeticlaw posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have has some time to ponder this offseason acquisitions and trades and I am going to break it down in two parts hates and revelations. I wasnt keen on th idea of Marv at the helm and he has proving me right in soo many ways, the overpaying of salries to the 2nd 3rd tier players, too overpaying for the reaches in this years drafts. Im not going to state he got the wrong players after careful review of all the acquisitions I had a revelation but I will get to that in a minute. Whoever is doing the contract negotions with these players has really fumbled, I dont remeber where i saw it but we have paid out the most in signing bonuses this offseason for relatively second tier guys and no real star potential. THis is my biggest gripe because this is a salary cap sport that you have to compenste based on skill not on gut. The only reason I hate this draft is not becasue of the players we drafted but the price we are paying for it. Top 10 $$ for a guy we could have traded down to 11-13 still got him and another later round pick. Moving up into the first again and Paying First round money and losing a 3rd round pickfor a guy who would have most likely been there when we picked again at 2, IF not we could have traded up in the 2nd rd not the first The value here is shot not only in dollars but who would have been that 3rd pick we lost. However, the biggest grip I have had on this "value system" is only a 5th round pick for Moulds, Really now he should have been a 3rd this year or a contional 2-4 next year based on performance this has definately been a Scott Norwood superbowl replay of the offseason for value for me. AHH but my revelation is this.. as pestimistic as i have been this offseason about all the things that have occurred, I have found a glimmer of hope that Marv does know something it might not be the $$value of the player but looking at all the players we have acquired FA and Draft we have something now we havent had in a very long time. DEPTH. I have stated in the past the only reason the Pats have won 3 superbowls is DEPTH because their players are not that good for the most part of the roster but they all play. The type of players we have will play and we have good depth. Now it just comes down to the coaching on Sundays but if these guys can coach them right and the players play their best It could be a surprise season especially since we will be clearly under all the radars. Just had to put that out there. -
Well looking at some of the replies i think i need to propse another question, since they are going to a cover 2 and jauron has stated you need 5 or 6 good corners in order to be successful how many will the keep in the DB/FS/SS slots typically this is a 5-2-2 with WR at 6 if they bum it up one or 2 what position will get the hit. I think WR will only get 5 with one on the practice squad. and wihter corner or safety will have an extra spot. Also wanted to note that Duke Preston is either going to start or back up at center but could also fill in at guard which is why hes seen on the guard depth chart but hes not going to be a cut. WR- i think the first 4 might be a lock with Evans, Price, Reed(he is a solid slot receiver) and Parrish(hes also a return man keeps his value up) Leaving 1 spot to fight for between davis aiken and smith but also the 6'4 nance(option for practice squad too). Aiken hasnt impressed me his entre time here and davis is only an injury away from being cut but I think Davis is the Lead here since he could be 3rd on the depth chart if hes healthy(based soley on his potetntial). IF any lind backer gets cut above stamer I expect it too be Posey for salary cap reasons. But i see them keeping al the line backers above stamer. DT- Honestly I dont see Tim Anderson being too safe here. Which would only leave one more hard decision here. However, i think its always a hard decision to cut players.

How This Draft Can Be An A+ Draft
Poeticlaw replied to Ozymandius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
(3) Finally, regardless of need and the idea of building teams inside-out, the Bills had a great draft if they drafted four or five really good players. Forget not focusing on the lines enough. If Whitner, McCargo, Youboty, Simpson, and Williams all turn out to be good players, then it's an A+ draft because that's an excellent batting average. Typically, with your first five players drafted, you're probably looking at two good players, two average players, and a bust. If I had to guess right now, Whitner will be a star, Simpson will be very good and a steal in the fourth round, McCargo will be an underachiever, Youboty will be inconsistent and unreliable, and Williams will be completely average. But if they all turn out good... So yes, the draft day grades are preliminary. We'll wait to see how it all shakes out. I think that is fair. 680084[/snapback] I think that most people on this board are missing the reasons why they Bills have a low grade of D and I think that is being nice. The Fact is that we could have gained a pick in this draft with a minor trade down out of the top 10. Instead now we have to pay our new unproven saftey top 10 draft dollars that ifhe doesnt pan out theres another MW typ dollars sitting on our roster and even if he does pan out would he still be worth that type of money. I hate to state it so matter of factly but that has been the theme this offseason overpaying for second/third teir talent. Thats my main prblem and many of the experts drafting him at #8. Secondly, we lost a 3rd pick to move up for another shot in the dark to overpay this player as well as losing out on another key player in the third round. Im sorry but I have to agree with the experts, play the hand see if hes there at the number 2 spot and keep both number threes because the odds were gighly in the favor of him still being there. This is not a Willis mcgahee type of gamble. So not only did we waste first round money on a guy projected to go in the 3rd but we lost a third round pick. This draft and the offseason moves off overpaying for under acheiving talent is like we are putting together a college team to compete in the NFL. I disagree with another post stating the Bills will have the number 2 pick in next year draft, I have become convinced this team for the first time in My 17 years as a fan the Bills will be selecting #1 overall next season. This is the worst team on paper I have ever seen wih a reject to coach them, Im usually optimistic and the more this off season pans out the more I am not looking forward to next years disaster. -
Gotta trade back into the first round
Poeticlaw replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No now they are going to trade our 2nd round pick for a 4th rounder then both of our third rounders for a second rounder since they are all to senile to realize the value of their spot in the draft. -
Round 1 (#8): Selection: S Donte Whitner
Poeticlaw replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only does it look like we blew the pick, but look at the money we have to pay this kid Top 10 $ there goes another MW waste to our roster. Isnt the first round the best PLAYER availible and this by far is reach considering they have the Cowboys taking him at 19 -
Another teacher accused of having sex
Poeticlaw replied to erynthered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im a little confused by this article of facts 1. Student is 19 years old=Adult able to make own descion. 2. Student not believed to be student of the accused. 3. Dont believe it happend on school property. 4. Accuser is only 3 years older than the alleged victim. Since the victimn is an adult and not known to be their student in waht appears to be a small county, how do we know that these twoo didnt just hook up at a party and some one his having bad feelings. It doesnt appear by this article that the women should be facing any felony charges. -
Who will be our starting QB this year?
Poeticlaw replied to chetsap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only did we give RJ longer RJ was also in the leaugue for three years with 4 games under his belt before coming to us and couldnt hold off and old short man from the starting Job. JP has all the tools, he did not have the right situation last year at all. Lets face it all his naysayers are pretty much gone, (Moulds, Adams, Malloy) the only one left he has to beat out is Holcomb. Im sorry I believe in Holcomb backing up games But i didnt like his style of play at all and his favorite target is no longer on the roster. I think the new set of Fast receivers and hopefull returng of our TE Everett and using Mcgahee more out of the back as a screen will definatley help his play. The 2 things that he needs to help him is a LT and a strong back up runing back so its not so obvious we are runing the ball. Lets face it the offense last years was so predicitable that somebody who knew nothing about footbal could probably see what we were going to do next. Mcgahee is in=Run Mcgahee is out=Pass 2nd and 6-9=Pass 3rd down=pass pass pass Red zone=pass Real good running philosophy -
IMO it appears as though its very easy how the WR are going to layout. Lee evans is number one Price is number 2 the only one on the team with convincing experience to that fact with reed as number three leaving 4/5 between parrish and davis I also agree Holcomb is out hes getting the starting reps this past mini camp to see if he really has a shot over nall and JP, with mould gone holcomb doesnt have his cushion where JP hasd already proven his ability to spread the ball, hes just got to get better with his effiency. The race is between Nall and JP which I like Jps ability and dont know of Nall makes JP a favorite for me.

There is a positive to a possible Bills move.
Poeticlaw replied to LevysEraII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets face some facts here people....if and when the team will be moved it will be to LA where they are promised a footabll team. The NFL would prefer not to add any more expansions teams. Thus the Team of Buffalo will be transplanted into a LA team of what name will not be know to us. The AFC east division will be realigned because I dont see the NFL making the division fly out to west coast. The would possibly switch our new LA team with ST louis taking us out of the eastern division. Then the good thing out of this is the Buffer LA team wins a superbowl in a differnet stadium, team colors and state and that is suppose to make a fan salivate. Look i dont live in NY I live in MA so i dont even know much about your state. What I do know is I am a BUFFALO BILLS fan the team that is in Buffalo and always has been. I have no broblem with the team moving as long as its still in NY since in my oppinion are the true NY football team not the Giants or JEts they are in New Jersey. But for anyone of Buffalo whos is known for tradition would be a fan of a west coast team out to be ashamed of themselves, but they do have the right to choose the team they want so be it. IF the Buffalo Bills team leeaves NY then I will become a fan of a differrent Team (just not NE) I have been a fan for 17 glorious years since the day i learned about football I have passion for my teams Buffalo bills and the Boston Red Sox I dought i would have the same passion about a new team, then again i woulnt have much passion for a LA team either. -
Promo I think we are now starting to see these points, but political pressure is not going to change the New CBA that has been extended for the next 6 years. It appears to me the main conceren is if the team is sold there is no revenue sharing. So as I replied on another post maybe Ralph is lining up a strategy, becuase as you stated and it is quite the shocker to myself is if the team is sold no revenue sharing so its going to make very difficult whether Ralph is alive or not for the next owner of the Bills. The political push hes doing now I think has a few things in the works, 1. The city holds the stadium lease with a simple buy out plan, maybe hes working a plan with the city while he is alive to sell the team to them through the lease of the stadium or other hidden accounting means so he can distrubute the funds to his heirs and conviently leaving out of the will pertaining to the Buffalo Bills leaving the team to the State of NY. No proof of sale team belongs to NY and stays in Buffalo....ok that is a huge reach but still a minor even if miniscule possibility. 2. Maybe Ralph is informing the city that the only way the team will be able to stay in Buffalo is if he Moves the Team, Not the name BUffalo Bills to LA and they attempt to copy the succes of the Browns moving to Baltimore as the Ravens and leaving the Cleveland Browns as an expansion team of the near future. The only way it appears the Bills will stay i Buffalo is that way. The team might not be around for a few years but expansion teams are not treated the same way as a team that has been sold, Buffalo gets a fresh start team and rebuild again faster and quicker under the same guide lines as the rest of the NFL leaugue owners have now. Though I am reaching on this it seams to be logical choice. 3. Really reaching here, the leugue states only of sold no revenue sharing so if the team is inheirted does that count for this ill assume no for now. He leves the team to Jim Kelly and has some hidden accounting where Jim is actually Buying the team but the NFL will never find out because Jim gives the money to a secret charity of the heirs family or some other accounting way of Jims personal Money made form the team. Again really reaching on this but seem like 3 possiilities overall. Final possibily Ralph dies family sells team new owner realizes he he/she/they dont have revenue sharing with the nfl and looks like they will be bankrupt in 3 years, or uncompetive always because all they can do is draft and sign undrafted free agents and Moves us to a bigger market whter its LA or not.

If the Bills moved to another city
Poeticlaw replied to flyingant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LA Bills Sounds good? I have been an avid fan of the BUFFALO BILLS since 1989, I like the Name, I like the Buffalo emblem. If this team was moved to LA and Name the LA Bills which they should have no right taking the name, there would be No more Buffalo on the helmet what would it be dollar bills the reason why the left. Sorry, my allegiance to the team would be done the moment the team left Buffalo!!! Then I would have to pick a new alligience to a New team and being a Fan in New England I could not be a Patriot fan since I would be seen as a band wagoner because the have won 3 SB in the last 4 years, No me I would jump to the other enemy in our Division. I would have to be a Miami Dolphin fan becasue they will never move their team, change their name and always make a run at the playoffs year in and year out just wouldnt like the fact they are not a cold weather team, one of the things i take pride with with Buffalo. So hopefully my nightmare will never be realized, and the Bills will always be in Buffalo and we start experiencing superbowl wins as a Buffalo Bills team. On a side bar imagine this, The leugue will allow one more team to be added as an expansion team , Ralph has stated if the team is sold they would lose Revenue sharing, so what if Ralph is planning to move his "Team without the name to LA" sells the team before he dies, leaving the Buffalo Bills open as a possible expansion Team Like the Cleven Browns Did when they Moved to Baltimore. -
I was playing another game of chess online watching some opponent quit yet again because i took their queen, See they feel the game is over once you take away the queen. However, i have been taught that the queen makes you weak, granted she is the strongest player on the board the more you rely on her the more your exposing your weakness. Learn to play with out the queen and you find your strength let your opponent think that you have weakened. I know im strong with the queen but i have to know im stronger without her using the other peices of the board to help me win the game and not rely soley on the Queen. I think the loss of Moulds"our Queen" will help us become a stronger team and help us use all of our offensive players to help us win the games. Just thought i would share my anology with you.

One thing that just occurred to me on Moulds
Poeticlaw replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry guys but I am of the few who feel Eric needed to go. I even have a different perspective that many might not thought of.... Eric wouldnt take a pay cut scheduled to make ateleast 7 mil ove the next 2 years base pay. Yet he takes a 3.5 mil a year job with the texans over 4. even if the wanted him to make 4.5 mil base this year hes still making 1 mil more than his houston deal. Its not about going to a winning team because he could have been cut and went to any team he wanted too. In Buffalo he wanted to be the goto guy and believes hes a number 1 receiver but is going to Houston to be number 2. I think the underlying thing here and I could be reaching on this is I dont believe that Eric wanted JP at Qb and he might have been told there is a chance that JP could be the starter and no guarantee that he wouldnt be. Which means to Eric that there would still be inconsitency at the QB position so he goes to Houston because Carr is the starter and he might feel that Andre and him can make carr even better but for they very least of next year he knows its one guy not 2 or three. -

IS Moulds Suppling the Rumors to the media
Poeticlaw replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

ITs been pretty intersting reading the last 48 hours. Media sourse indicating that Philly is moulds destination with Philly denying that the have even had trade talk conversations. Then you have meda outlets in Houston stating moulds has agreed to a contract extention and they have to work out the trade with the BIlls. But the Bills are denying any of this taking place, and Houston is denying, Philly is denying now Moulds is denying. The theory here is this, Bills would not deny anything if it was true because it only increase the value the Bills could get in return for him. So it sounds like the Moulds camp is trying to Drive up his value by dropping these tips do the media, I am only specualating but it sure seems pretty apparent this is whats going on. Any thoughts?

A couple points about Losman and Moulds
Poeticlaw replied to Gambler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look this need to be reiterate or restated the players do not respect him-who are these players and what is your source. I know of 2 players that have voiced there discontent of JP one is Sam Adams stating he would not want to play for us if JP started and hes been released and the other grey area person is Eric Moulds who should be dealt to Houston in a matter of days. Other than those two on the team the only person i would specualate would be Kelly Holcomb who helped mess up the Clevleand Brown Qb situation with Tim Couch Because Kelly wants to be a starter not a back up. I have watched gamse this past year wher it really looks like JP and Evans not only have a good realtionship on the field but seemed pretty good to each other off the feild, i have seen many time sam aiken, josh reed and Lee evans helping him through his Qb contraversy times of the season. Since its the offense that needs to be led and these are the guys hes throwing it to unless you show me some lineman who dont respect this kid I strongly believe with Moulds influence over the team gone and the true QB competition coming up the JP will out shine the other 2 and be ready to show us they great stuff i saw in preseaon before he broke his leg, the great stuff i saw of him in college games, and the flashes he has shone in KC/Houston and Miami games. If the start using Mcgahee as a screen option and if Royals can realy catch in the short game like Marv beleives he can this kid is going to improve a great deal in waht is his true SOPHMORE season. -
Moulds to Houston, per ESPN/radio/Clayton
Poeticlaw replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A fourth Rounder from the Texans is actually a good pick. Hear me out for a second... Texans are pickingg number one over all, It would be nice to have the first over all pick of day 2 as a personell man you have alot of time to get the pick right.
