Jp isnt an option because JP WONT sign with the Bills after they way hes been treated. The question has to be this: What do you want to do at the Qb position and at what cost do you want to do it? Kurt warner will still be with the cardinals or retired I dont forsee him going to another team. The Seahwaks would be idiots to get rid of Hasslebeck- so the chances of landing him would be 1% Matt Cassel is a young option nad KNOWS THE PATRIOTS PLAYBOOK I really like that fact. However he is the most sacked QB in the leaugue and I know how this board hates the Drews, RJs and the JPS at the position MAtt to dat has been sacked 44 times. This was his first starting season on a seasoned team with good leadership his toools could be very useful to us but his year with the Pats will make him a hghly paid QB so we would have to annoit him the starter over edwards for this to happen- I am not sold on Cassel just like I am not sold on Trent. A golden opprotuinty is to trade for a seasoned veteran who knows how to win and has been to countless playoffs, league championships and a Superbow ad has played on teams with the talent of the bills and had that type of success. Could really mold trent and teach him the position and put us on the map of instant credibility even with the rumored extenstion of Jauron-Problem he would cost us 2 first day picks. Is it worth given up drafting a first day pass rusher for Mcnabb we havent had much succes tradng away our first round picks on QBS. however if we could trade awy 2010 first round pick and not this years I would say definatley. Or better yet trade schobel & kelsay for macnabb and call it a wash. Either way the best available option with out totally ruining our future is Matt Cassell.

Yes he will be on the trade market no the free agent market. " According to NFL Network's Adam Schefter, the Eagles will free up $9.2 million in salary cap money if they trade Donovan McNabb this offseason" So not only will it cost the team money but its going to cost draft picks to get Mcnabb.
-
Unless Dovavans released (unlikely) we would have to trade for him which would probably cost a first and conditional third

so it wasnt the defensive that gave up the first 17 points it was the poor play of the QB put down the pipe the reveolving door at qb HAS TO STOP!!!!!!

First-JP was not as bad as everyone on this board mad him out to be. HE had one bad series and one really bad decision to throw to Lee evans in the end zone. He made two good decisons to throw the ball away. Lynch had two drops, Royal had a drop. And Hardy had a first down drop that turned into 3 points instead of a continud drive. Lycnh wasnt able to pick up the first downs when he needed too. Peters was the reason for the fumble on JP and I saw now way JP could have avoided since he was pulling the trigger on his pass and the DE push peters around him so there was no way of avoiding it. His other fumble he was doing a good job eldudeing in the pocket when the miami player was able to get a good hand on the tip og the ball to pull it out. JP made some great passes under pressure and Reed looked realy good catching the ball. The over thrown ball to Lee evans was clearly an anticipation throw that landed dead center of the end zone and I beleive if Evans doesnt get tripped up he makes the catch for the TD. The overthrown ball to Parrish was another anticipation route by JP but I dont think parrish had the awareness of where he was versus where the ball was. JP had only 5 BAD PASSES the entire game and appeared to make good decisions when he had to. If his play this game is any indication of this game with a second week under his belt and improved timing I honestly believe the BIllsare going to win this game. Lynch needs to do a better Job knowing where he is on the field and piking up the first downs. The defense was NOT as good as the score made them seem way too many mis tackles and too much of a cushion on many plays allowing miami to extend their drives. The atmosopher was not a home game I did wal away a couple of time and heard some good cheers cme bsck and it was the Miami offense making a good play and they were cheering for it -AWFUL Again this is my observation on a clear head and no emotions of the outcome . I hold no Bias for JP I do think overall he had some productive drives that didnt always end because of him. REED is clearly the best receiver on the field to catch the ball and after the catch but only in the slot. Duke PRESTON is not that good of the center his fumble was very costly and there were a few other plays he failed to have the awareness to pick up the block on. IF they are able to clean up just a couple of things and JP improves on the timing on the long routes with LEE and PARRISH and they can hold up the blocks for the running game I dont see why we cannot pull this one out.

I dont belive JP is as bad as many wnat to pint him to be. JP has been incositne as of late Ill agree to that but so has his starting. JP showed me in 2006 that he has the ability to be a good starting QB for a team that knows how to use his offensive style and abilities. There have been plant y of QBs inthe history of the NFL that were shown by the team they were on to be inept and best at the third QB position but for some of those QBS 2 or three teams later they were a great player for the team they were on. OUR fan base is totally biased because we compare every QB to Jim Kelly and thats wrong for us to do. I honestly feel and flame me all you want JP is going to be the QB in a couple of years that we are going to be saying MAN why did we let him go???? Hes better than RJ, his arm is equivelant to Drew Bledsoe and his stlye is comparable to Bret Farve. The right offensive system might not make him Bret Farve but he would definatley be a top 10 QB. I know you hate stats and not to turn this into an edwards vs Jp thread but I just wanted to pint out the JP on a Weaker team than the Edwards driven one in his full season campaign was : #11 rated passer in the NFL #13 in Passing YDs #9 in Completion percentage Tied for 11th in TDS thrown #21 in ints # 15 in Completions- I would like to add that the top 10 had over 100 attemps more # 18 in attempts- I would like to add the top 10 had 100 attempts more he aslo had 2 4th qtr comebacks He was Healthy For the Whole season His passing effencies has improved yes he takes too many sacks as most gunslingers tend to do becuase the are looking for the big play. My personal preferenc is JP over Edwards but Like a true Bills fan I support whomeever the coaches put in the game. BEcause no matter which one of these QBS are in their the team is soo bad the results are the same. So to answere your question his chances hes played his last game is 10%

chances of Bills winning this week
Poeticlaw replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
50/50 there are only two teams playing now if we want to talk odds of them winning 1:2 or hopes of them winnning slim to none. It is unlikely they will win Jets are playinf ro survival at home and the Bills are playing for....________? I dont know what. -

Let's say we win 2 of the last three...
Poeticlaw replied to Hazed and Amuzed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
now thats funny win 2 out of three... maybe 1 if we are lucky -
I have said before disagree with me all you want but sometimes the QB is only as good as the players around him. How many dropped balls do these receivers have? I cant tell you how many time s i have seen both Edward and JP throw it in the numbers and the reciever of the ball just couldnt catch it. We also forget about all the great plays Edawards and JP and lynch have made just to have it erased by a dumb penalty this happens more than not. Atalnta and The ginats have a pretty good supporting cast and Just as i once said with BIG BEN throw him on another team in the NFL out of the drafte and he looks like a first round bust becuase PITT had the best supporting cast a rookie could ask for. Outside of that WHO IS THE EXPERINECED QB that our giving the QBS on our teams thier pointers???? I will tell You a CAREER THIRD STRING QB COACH Im sorry I just dont see it as a good teacher the best lessons are learned on the field the problem is US FANS and how quickly we want to pull the trigger on a QB get another one in their before the learn the ups and downs of the game. To go into the KELLY era he had a lot of bad games to go with alot of good games but he had one of th ebest supporting cast a QB could ask to have.

Have they played this season???????????????????? -
HELL NO!! NO NO NO NO NEVER

because like a few posters on here they still think they are in the playoff hunt.

I found this : "Minnesota Vikings* (8-7) at Washington Redskins (5-10) 1 p.m. Last season, the Vikings started the season 6-0 but failed to make the playoffs after losing 7 of their last 10 games. This year has been similar. Minnesota started 5-1 but has lost six of its last nine games and needs a victory this week to make the playoffs. They also could get in with a loss and either a St. Louis or Carolina loss. Minnesota could have won their division with a victory over the Packers last week, but they failed to get it done. " In 2003 Min started 6-0 and finshed 9-7 missing the playoffs in 2004 they started of 5-1 and finshed 8-8 fortunate enough for them the rest of the NFC sucked and they got into the playoffs or they would have missed them Has their been anyone else. Becuase just like the Bills The Vikings lost 3 straight SB and the 4th one a year later so I dont like the vikings being the only comparison
-
There in no long odds the BILL ARE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS dont talk about the playoffs wish about the playoffs this year ypu can dream about them that sit this playoff run is over. Before it was beleak now its fade to black there is no way 3 teams are going to lose the next 2 and no way theres a tie at the end of the season with the division on the line and THERE IS ABSOLUTLEY NO WAY WE WIN 3 IN A ROW AGAINST TEAMS WITH A WINNING RECORD

A Realistic Wish List for 2009
Poeticlaw replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Overall I disagree sorry -
I like POZ Whitner and certainly LOVE LYNCH he is a much better back tha MCGAHEE and he plays with fire on every play of every down it would help him a lot if we had a center or a passing game.

In 1998 Marv Retired and he had left WADE PHILLIPS as HC in waiting. Personally I did not like wade phillips. I am wondering with all the talent that team was stocked with if they would have gone thru the hiring Phase would we have hired Jon Gruden instead of Oakland or maybe Jim Mora instead of Indy. As bad as the Oak franchise is can you imagine if we had Hire GRUDEN that he might still be our HC today with a gritty team.... oh then again maybe not becuase ralph doesnt beileve in Paying the HC the market worth so he might have left instead. Any way just a thought FLAME AWAY!!!!

I understand footbal is a differnt sport But I played on a socccer team that lost almost all its games that coach didnt return the next season but all the smae players did and we won the championship becuase the Coach knew how to coach knew what was wrong knew how to improve it and was a differnt style of coach he was a coach accustomed to winning and coached that way the prior coach was accustomed to losing and coached that way. Im just saying to me it is and always has been the wrong coach for the Bills, I didnt like the GW signing and I hated the Jauron signing even more becuase of what was available to us versus what we got. Mularkey I wasnt sure of but was slightly hopeful based on three seasons of a top 10 offense and he was an offensive coach.

bills coaches pay for errors in front office
Poeticlaw replied to bigskyfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the Thing, think of it has a buisness. You have your ceos , marketing adminstration and such forth. The HEAD COACH is the Director of all players(employees) for the organiziation regardless of the talent the recruiters bring in and we know he has had his imput on those players The Head Coach is directly responisble for the play of their players Just as the MANAGER is responsible for their employees even though they dont do their work they are responsible for making sure the are ready, capable and able with minimum mistakes. Talent or not its a collasal failaur after a 5-1 start though I am one the the few who stated we didnt have talent at the 5-1 market either but they got thier and raised everyones exepctaions of them. I was hoping after 5-1 they would build confidence and endurce as they were starting to learn to win. But Just as trent had 2 4th qtr comebacks in a season so did JP in his full season of starting, the fact is the HC is just a responsible as the people above him why becuase for three years now this whole baord has been saying our receiving core sucks and we need improvement yet the QBS and the HC have defended their recieveing core and this is where it has gotten them. I also would like to know who is responsible for overlooking the need at center. To the HC credit this season he finally realized that fowler wasnt the guy so now that should be addressed in the off season. In conclusion Remove Ralph from everyday operations, BRING in a TRUE GM let him determine whether JAuron is right for the job which from past references Chicago said he wasnt I would throw in Deteroit but their GM was a Joke as well as so I would suspect he would be gone along with all the cordinators with the exception of april. Then bring in someone who is proven for instant respect among the players have a solid FA and Draft players that are going to have an impact on this team. I am not opposed to see trent one more year under center but give him the tools to succeed. My personal preference would be to see what Philly would be asking for Mcnabb and see if we would be benficiaries of a good trade? -
How does Ralph market Dick Jauron for 2009-10?
Poeticlaw replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only way he could pass off Jauron for one more year is by making a big splash in FA he will want to get us excited about the players he got in here and their chances to get us to the long awaiting Playoffs and we will but it till the end of September where Jauron will cast his shadow over the positive moves or the moves will be seen as overrated underperforming FA and BAM we are right back at a 7-9 season but Jauron might pull one out and we will be 8-8 and FOr the season folowing that He will say we are keeping Jauron because we improved then after that season he will be done becasue his 3 years will be coming up and we just wasted 48 sundays/Mondays or a min 144 hours watching JAuron screw this team up becuase Ralph refuses to admit he made a mistake resigning the baffoon. -
DICK Doesnt believe in practicing out doors WHAT!!???
Poeticlaw replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Iwas watching the eagles Ginats game and players from both teams were sitting on the side lines with thier coats off, All i can remeber was I think last year or the year before where the showed our bench and everyone was bundled up to the hilt of warmth trying to protect themseves from the elements unlike the Bills of a decade past who would be o the sidlines with their coats off showing you their toughness trying to pysche out the other team. WE ARE MISSING MENTAL TOUGHNESS ON THIS TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
