It seems your going to get alot smack for it but I would essentially agree with you. Though i personally would not want to give up the truck i could see why the organization might so I would definately make the deal but if i had to throw in a pick which i dont think i should it would be a 5th rounder or later because its lynch for cutler and trent for scheffler i would definatley use the first on beanie but hes not the truck that lycnh is but is a better hole runner.

What is it with the fans thinking we need love from the Networks it seems everytime the Networks see Buffalo starting to do good Buffalo does everything possible to get out of the spotlight. We were 5-1 talked about by just about everyone Trent edwards was the talk of the town then we fizzled out. So when we heat up again so will the press until then what have we done since the TO signing to desrve any needed press. Ummm NOTHING!

To what degree are the trying to win? 1. They kept a Coach who has gone 7-9 the past 3 years and of those 9 losees last season 6 were against our division-Should have been fired 2. The OL needed 2 players to upgrade- So we get 1 and lose 4 including depth with 1 in serious jeopardy 3. Argue the point all you want Greer was the best CB on our team he is gone replaced with another guy that was once good in hopes that the system will make him good again a 6 mil gamble 4. The back up Qb isnt going to teach Trent a damn thing and certainly isnt going to push him for the job once he falters thus no back up plan 5. TO- as much as everyone loves him and thinks he makes us an instant contender is purely the Marketing move this team needed to sell tickets- I like the idea of him to ease the double team on evans then I thought about our QB and said he doens throw more than 5 yeards at a time and will only take 1 shot down the field. This is going to spell disaster once TO starts calling trent out on his ability to throw to him I can se it coming but on the flip side TO has the Attitude this team has long needed The winning attitude he might be able to motivate them better then DJ ever will. Then again its all a toin Toss on this move. 6. Still havent addressed the TE and I would rarther an expereince TE , Known quantity if youd like then to draft someone becuase this team cannot get it right with the TEs in the draft. 7. The OLB is the next need getting overshadowed need someone with experience if we are looking to make this a winning season. To sum it up too many holes and TO signing does not overshadow all those holes in my mind to make this team better than the 7-9 they have been. Unless I am missing something I see nothing improved on this team compared to last year!!!

Does Cutler have that Jimbo attitude we've been missing??
Poeticlaw replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh and just to add the one that pains me the most. Wasnt it Jimbo that was cryin and being a baby that it was his team and if any QB should be winning the SB it was him. When we got totally annilated from Dallas when in all actuality Frank Reich should have started that game. Considering he had the biggest comeback in NFL history and was riding a 3 game hot streak to boot!!!! -

There have been many posts on this board regarding Culter it seems pretty split. I for one would take him in a heart beat over Trent becuase of durability, strong arm and alot more TDs. People think becuase they had a number 1 reciever and a rookie 2nd rd pick that was better than our second round pick and a TE that could catch the ball thats also on the trade block is waht made him succesful. I disagree. Throw him on our team and we will be legitimate again. He would definately get the ball to Lee and To both of them would have 1000 yard seasons and 10 tds apeice. -

I dont live in Buffalo but I think the Bills should
Poeticlaw replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://football.ballparks.com/NFL/BuffaloBills/index.htm "The Bills' stadium lease had been signed in 1998 by Giambra's predecessor, Dennis T. Gorski. The agreement assumed the Bills would play all of their home games in the county-owned stadium but let the team play home games elsewhere with county permission. Giambra in late 2007 quickly let them do so for the 2008 season, without trying to change any other terms. Gorski had negotiated the contract as he headed into an election year. When completed, it was considered both an extravagance and a triumph for Erie County. While the deal committed a fortune in taxpayer money, some $125 million through its life, the county didn't have to build a new stadium, as some other cities were doing for their NFL franchises. " After looking up more info I came acroos this link and bascially WNY didnot renegoaite the deal and give them permission to play the games in Canada. Sorry I find that to be a bone head move! -

I think you need to reread your link Hamilton county is off the hook and the Reds are flipping the Bill. -
Lets not turn this into a flame agains JP or Trent. But TD brought in JP to be a deep threat QB he is great at the medium long range passes. Then they wanted him to manage the game instead of chucking the ball down the field so then i thought we were a dink and dunk team taking atlest one medium range pass down the field. Then I thought we were suppose to be a running team as well. Next we sign TO not that i am completely oppsed to this after thinking about it for awhile but I am questioning the Philosphy of the team are we a running team that dinks and dunk or are we now going to be a passing team with a little run. The TO thing makes no sense hes not a possesion receiver hes a deep threat like Evans. Trent is not a deep ball guy hes a guy very comfortable with the 10 yards or under no way you can intercept my ball type passes. How is this going to bode. The question has always been out there it was even more evident when you had the announcers stating the Offense has no Idenity and oonce again I look at this upcoming season as an offense with no Identity. Ae we going to be using the pass to set up the run or the run to set up the pass are we still going to be dink and dunk move the chains only type of offense because if that is the case why the hell are we spending 22 mil on our top 4 receivers?

I was reading that the Bills got last year and this years payment owed to to the Bills per their Lease agreement. I would have to assume that this agreement was made on the basis that ALL of their HOME games were played in WNY and not in CANADA. Feeling thats a safe assumption I feel the Bills should be obligated to give back the prrated amount for the HOME games Played in CANADA and not in WNY becuase WNY is seeing no increase in revenue with the games move to Canada only a decrease in Revenue. Somebody tell me if I am seeing this the wrong way or not

It would have to be Franchise QBs go For a 2nd round pick and an Aging LB not a 1/3 and a 2nd

Poeticlaw replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

Things that frighten you most about the upcoming season.....
Poeticlaw replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Trents shoulder 2. OL 3. DL 4. LBs 5. CBS 6. DC 7. OC 8. HC 9. DEPTH Whats not goint to worry me SPECIAL TEAMS if we had two more units like special teams we would be SUPER!!! -
I think my question is being missed... I am not saying that Thomas Smith is best of all time I am just stating that I personally believed he should be a choice along with Winfield and Clements. Though thomas smith didnt get many intercecptions I have this memory of him defelcting a ton of passes each and every year. So i did some scanning and found that one season in 1995 he knocked down a team high of 16. Im just wondering why hes not a choice. Personally I felt he was a better player than clements and I really liked winfield as well but he wasnt a big int guy either he was abig hitter and tackler. http://www.nytimes.com/1996/02/28/sports/s...omas-smith.html
-
Granted he didnt make many interceptions but I seem to have a memory have him deflecting alot of passes being a really good cover corner. outside of Odomes nobody in my mind has been better than thomas smith since then. I know My mind cant be that rusty or its been that long I dont link my mind to favorite players that sucked.

Is my memory escaping me. I thought thomas smith was one of our best CBS I really liked him but i dont see him on the CB choices. Am i mistaken here someone clarify this for me. thanks

Yet another reason to feel good about 2009
Poeticlaw replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasnt talking about blitzing the Lbs though that woould help in pressuring the Qb but you stated my pint about the excellent coverage LB Spikes was which leads to coverage sacks/incomplete passes or INTS -
Yet another reason to feel good about 2009
Poeticlaw replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Though Many might not agree with me I have posted before that the best our sack rate was is when we had LBs like Spikes and Fletcher both great covering LBS. The problem with the LB core we have now is they are very good run stoppers but not very good in coverage. If the LBS/CBS are not good in coverage the sacks go down becuase the QB has time to get it to the open man. IF the Coverage of our LBS/CBS were good we would have more coverage sacks like we did in 2006. If the QB has noone open he cant get the ball to the reciever which either leads to throwing the ball away, incomplete pass or poss int, or the coveted coverage sack that we are lacking! As i said most will disagree but the sack problem isnt the Front 4 its the back 7 and the DC who only sends the front 4 against 5 to 7 players. -
