Lawsuit: Teacher Makes Girl Unclog Toilet
Sound_n_Fury replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yikes! I know this is eventually going to get kicked over to PPP, but what the heck: http://www.bcnys.org/whatsnew/1998/acciddrm.htm -
I can't believe it took 23 posts to answer the question about WM "marketability."

(OT) Man Tackled Outside US Capitol
Sound_n_Fury replied to zow2's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Here's what happened on the Rainbow Bridge last summer. I wonder if today's incident was similar: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2...tent_351350.htm -

I agree, but the implications ("better safe than sorry" vs. reduced freedom of speech, movement, privacy, etc.) are still going to take a while to get used to. It's a new world order, for sure. Any news on what was in the suitcases yet? -

He looks Asian to me. I hope this isn't a repeat of the incident where a Chinese woman was roughed up by security when she was crossing the Rainbow Bridge to Niagara Falls last winter... -
Wow is Josh Stamer chisled or what?

I do get it. Ignore.

Hey, Jack received the same treatment...Tiger's no different. He's the one golfer in the world that "the man in the street" can recognize. It's been nearly 3 years since he last won a major. Good for him, and major props to CD for slugging it out to the wire. Sorry to read your last two lines...they say more about you than they do Tiger.

Pretty decent article on Ryan Miller
Sound_n_Fury replied to Campy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to the Amerks game at HSBC Arena last weekend. Miller played a very inconsistent game...great saves mixed with a very weak goal that gave the Leafs a brief 3rd period lead (Vanek eventually scored two late goals to give Rochester the win). It looks like Miller, and the rest of the team, may be tiring down the stretch... http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/p...RTS02/504090315 -
"We're leaving this entry's status as "undetermined" for now because we plan to talk to the OCSD again to obtain some additional background information (such as why the dispatcher stayed on the phone so long over something that was clearly not a police matter), and because the fact that the recording is genuine doesn't necessarily mean it was on the level. Was the caller really a harried mother with an overinflated sense of entitlement, or was she a prankster [read: radio morning show "personality"] pulling one over on the sheriff's department for the sake of a laugh? Since no one responded to the call, we may never know.

Funny...but a great big radio morning show hoax. Here's the source of the tape: http://www.kiddlive.com/

Lenny P. has some T. Henry stuff in Tip Sheet

Pasta-belly's only repeating the sweet nothings Ol' Whitey whispered in his ear, in hopes that Green will--to parahrase TD's comments a few weeks ago--"blink first." -

Yep, I agree. Ol' TD just putting the heat on Denny Green to swap second round picks. You'd think TD's long-standing use of Pasta-belly to "send messages through the media" would be well-known around the league by now. -
He's 73. He hasn't played Agusta in three years, so I give the guy credit for teeing it up. I believe I saw a story where he said he declined to turn in his scorecard because "I'm going to put this in my scrapbook." Sounds like he's not taking it too hard.

Proposal calls for new downtown stadium
Sound_n_Fury replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And the state and local politicians already have their hands in them, up to their elbows! Seriously, there's no way the State of New York is going to fork over more than a token amount of money for a new stadium. This is not Manhattan we're talking about. And unfortunately, as long as Buffalo's population continues to decline, the private money will look for opportunies elsewhere. -

Scouts Inc. Todd McShay says Henry for Shelton
Sound_n_Fury replied to brihs2005's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know if anybody saw this, but the ESPN Insider rumor page has the following, with a date of April 6th, so it must be pretty fresh: http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/rumorcentral?sport=nfl Apr. 6 - Scouts Inc. is hearing that the long-rumored Travis Henry-for-L.J. Shelton trade will be consummated within the next few days. The deal has been delayed over the Bills' insistence that draft picks are included. Buffalo has been asking the Cardinals to switch spots in the second round, which Arizona now appears willing to do. If the trade goes through, Buffalo will move up from pick No. 55 to No. 44. The only thing that could hold up the deal now is the status of Henry's contract. He has one year left on his deal, and the Cardinals would want to sign him to a long-term contract before making a trade. Also: Apr. 6 - Left tackle L.J. Shelton appears to be on his way to Buffalo in exchange for running back Travis Henry. Scouts Inc. is hearing that the long-rumored trade will be consummated within the next few days. Shelton, who fell out of favor with Cardinals coach Dennis Green last season, was granted permission to seek a trade in February. He has already undergone a physical by the Bills. -
Proposal calls for new downtown stadium

Antoine Thompson is the lightest of lightweights. In a city with an overflowing history of prepostrous preposals, this is an all time high (or low, as the case may be). The city and county can't even keep toilet paper in their bathrooms, yet this guy wants to spend $$$$ for a new stadium. Too bad my pet bird just passed away, this story would've been perfect lining for his cage. -
