  1. I guess I'm in he "wait and see" camp on this. Every year we hear "smash mouth" in the off-season and end up with something else when the bullets are real.
  2. Pittsburgh too, in most years. Don't understand TD's thinking on what kind of offense we're going to have -- is it wide open, run & gun or smash mouth?
  3. The summary on Roscoe from the PFW guide says "Not as big or athletic as Randel El, but has better speed and would be a good value for a team with a luxury pick in the third round. Can contribute in the return game immediately and become a solid slot receiver."
  4. Amazing how different publications have different takes. PFW likes him, but doesn't seem to be as taken with him as the Huddle guys: Pro Football Weekly draft guide: Positives - Very well sculpted with good muscle development and thick limbs. Can get separation and stretch the field. Looks the part. Very impressive on the hoof. Has a 39.5 inch vertical jump. Can make acrobatic catches. Gets into his blocks quickly. Was challenged by Kellen Winslow to a footrace in practice and beat him. Good competitor. Can change direction well and get in and out of his cuts. Quick off the line and can sink his hips and separate. Very good body control to adjust. Moves his feet to sustain blocks and can chip and seal. Big upside. Negatives - Does not have natural hands and will double-catch the ball and drop more than he should. Not instinctive. Does not show great awareness and will make too many concentration drops. Not a great route runner. Can improve working zones to get open. Not very sudden. Lacks great football intelligence. Not a great base blocker. Summary - One of the most physically impressive players in the draft, but football skills have a long way to go to catch up with his raw athletic ability. Will need a lot of polishing and won't be ready to play right away. Teams say he would be a great value in the third round, but his athletic ability will get him drafted in the second.

  6. One more center off the board....
  7. Except everything I've read is that Roscoe's too small to get off the line, unless he's lined up in the slot.
  8. A lot of Thurmans' success was on draws out of the shotgun set. If that's what our offense is going to look like, then this pick may make some sense...
  9. I'm trying to get a handle on MM's offensive philosophy...is it smash mouth or gimickry? WM seems more like a power back than Thurman ever was, so I'd rather have 5 massive wide-bodies blocking for him than run a lot of 3-WR sets (especially if the slot WR is a smurf who'll never provide any down field blocking).
  10. The question about Roscoe in my mind is, do the Bills need a 3rd down slot WR/punt returner more than they do an OT/OC or DT? We have huge holes to fill at OLT and DT due to FA losses and the possibility this might be Sam Adams last year. Specialty players are a nice luxury, but championships are won in the trenches, IMO. I can't see Roscoe ever being more than a slot receiver, which limits the number of opportunities he'll have to touch the ball, especially if we're going to have a "smash mouth" run-oriented offense. I've come back "off the ledge" a bit since the pick, but the onus is really on TD & TM with this selection. We need some O-line help with our next pick, IMO.
  11. This press conference should be good....
  12. I love the draft, but I feel hollow right now. Good night everybody.
  13. I like Terry, but I think it'll take a least a year in the weight room to get him ready to go. Would TT at OLT for a year be an exceptable trade off?
  14. Nick Collins FS
  15. Boy, Green Bay, the Jags and Carolina all need OTs...this is going to get hairy.
  16. Odel Thurman to Cinci...
  17. You don't like Bennie Anderson?
  18. Yep...I can see Carolina at 54 taking Barnes.
  19. Damn Jets!!!!
  20. You're assuming TH will be dealt today...I bet TD ends up saying something like "we tried to trade him, but just didn't get the value"
  21. Same with the TH / teen love rants.
  22. It's Arrington. Green didn't blink, apparently.
  23. To protect Eli? Would be a good, safe pick (hope not, though).
  24. He was pulled over by the cops and they found weed in the car...he said it was a friends, and it probably was, but who knows.
