  1. Cool...if we have a blizzard that night, the white uni's might be damn near invisible (sort of like a stealth bomber)!
  2. Parrish's number at the U was "1". I'm guessing he picked something to commerate or be consistent with that. I also believe WR's have to have a two-digit number in the NFL.
  3. Another 5' 10" guy, also from the U: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235234 Santana Moss RECEIVING Year....Team.....G.....GS.....No......Yards.......Avg.......Lg......TD 2001___NYJ___5___0____2_____40_____20___33____0 2002___NYJ__15___3___30____433____14.4__47____4 2003___NYJ__16__12___74___1105____14.9__65___10 2004___NYJ__15__14___45____838____18.6__69____5 TOTAL_______51__29__151___2416____16.0__69___19 Postseason____2___2____8____131____16.4__47___1 Scouts Inc. analysis: Moss is an extremely elusive and explosive return man and shows the change of direction skills and agility to make tacklers miss in the open field. Has great speed and was a track guy while in school at the University of Miami. He runs with great technique and shows the ability to outrun most defenders in the open field. Shows good patience and vision. Is an absolute playmaker that shows the ability to go the distance every time that he touches the ball. He is undersized and fearless so durability is always going to be a concern but he proved last year that he could endure a full NFL season as both a starting receiver and return man.
  4. You know, I'm with Marv on this. If the Bills are going to "do it right," with a complete set of new helmets (and all the fitting and personalization that entails), it had better be completed before September rolls around. I don't want the distraction of a "marketing" event to mess with the team's focus/preparation for an in-season opponent.
  5. The problem with Florio, especially over the past year, is that he somehow thinks he's qualified to be an NFL analyst, rather than just a news aggregator. His site draws eyeballs—first and foremost—because it's a fast, easy way to see NFL news from other cities. His growing insistence on putting his own spin on the news is growing intolerable. I still look at PFT, but try to ignore any “commentary” the guy writes. An option I’m increasingly using is the “ESPN Local” feature, which collects newspaper stories from every NFL city and skips the “insights” provided by Mikey.
  6. Yep, you're right...remember Perry (no hands) Tuttle! It remains to be seen how Parrish handles the cold, as well (sounds like he's never seen snow, from one interview I heard). But this is spring, time of hope and good cheer. We'll get our game faces on in July when he drops his first pass in Training Camp!!!!
  7. IMO, it can be a real problem in the late fall after halftime. The one time I sat on the Visitors side on a day like that, I had a massive headache from squinting all day. On the Bills side, with the sun behind you, it warms up the back of your head and neck a bit, which helps as the temp drops in Nov-Dec.
  8. http://www.draftshowcase.com/RoscoeParrish.htm He seems to have pretty good hands, although some reports talk about a tendency to "body catch" too much. I trust Tyke Tolbert can work with him on this.
  9. Is this better? (at least we know THAT face! ) http://dynamic.si.cnn.com/si_online/covers.../1969/0825.html
  10. Looks like it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- War Room analysis Parrish will make the Bills' sparkling return game even stronger, along with Pro Bowler Terrence McGee. If Parrish (5-9 3/4, 170) were three inches taller, he would have been a first-round pick. In addition to making an impact on special teams, he should be a No. 4 receiver behind Eric Moulds, Lee Evans and Josh Reed. PRE-DRAFT ANALYSIS Strengths: Explodes off the line with a quick first step. Plays with good toughness, and isn't afraid to go over the middle. Has great speed, and shows a second gear in the open field. Shows outstanding change-of-direction skills. Is a dangerous return man. Weaknesses: Lack of height is a significant concern. Lacks the frame to shield defenders from the ball. Struggles to negate jams. Bottom line: Parrish is extremely undersized but has the potential to develop into a sure-handed and elusive slot receiver and a dangerous punt return specialist. Parrish reinforced his blazing speed with a 4.37 at the Combine and should be selected late on Day 1. Dan Pompei analysis Shifty runner with top athleticism. Has excellent short-area quickness. Separation skills are wonderful. Can reach and pluck. Has play speed. Has everything except good size. Tough; does not go down easily. Willing to go over the middle. Would be deadly in the slot. Isn't much of a blocker. Correspondent Analysis With his great speed and explosiveness, Parrish has a chance to challenge for the No. 3 receiver spot. Although he lacks ideal size, Parrish is tough and not afraid to make catches over the middle. He would be tough to cover in the slot because of his short-area quickness and ability to separate from defenders. He's also a dangerous return specialist.
  11. I'd take the upper deck. I had seasons tix for 16 years in what's now Section 333 and they were the best seats in the house, IMO: http://www.buffalobills.com/photos/333b.jpg Why not see if they have anything in rows 20-30 between the 35 yard lines in the upper deck on the Bills bench side. You can get a great perspective on how the play is developing and the sun will be behind you, and not in your eyes, like it is on the visitors side of the field. Good luck.
  12. Some interesting stats on Parrish….his combine workout numbers vs. the four highest drafted wide receivers: 40-Yard Dash Braylon Edwards------4.45 Mike Williams----------4.58 Mark Clayton----------4.40 Troy Williamson-------4.32 Roscoe Parrish--------4.40 Winner: Williamson 20-Yard Dash Braylon Edwards------2.67 Mike Williams----------2.67 Mark Clayton----------2.60 Troy Williamson-------2.57 Roscoe Parrish--------2.53 Winner: Parrish 10-Yard Dash (very important for slot receivers) Braylon Edwards------n.a. Mike Williams---------1.60 Mark Clayton----------1.53 Troy Williamson-------1.58 Roscoe Parrish--------1.55 Winner: Clayton 20-Yard Shuttle (Good test of lateral quickness, coordination, change of direction) Braylon Edwards-----4.38 Mike Williams---------4.23 Mark Clayton----------4.07 Troy Williamson-------n.a. Roscoe Parrish--------4.22 Winner: Clayton 3-Cone (Another good measure of shiftiness, change of direction, body control) Braylon Edwards------6.87 Mike Williams----------6.98 Mark Clayton----------6.95 Troy Williamson-------6.99 Roscoe Parrish--------6.69 (fifth best among 59 WRs invited to the Combine) Winner: Parrish --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bottom line: Parrish’s short-area measurables are every bit as good, and some cases better, than the top WRs drafted this year. His change of direction skills will be particularly valuable on punt returns and in the slot, where the DB will be backed off the line of scrimmage. While his size is a liability, the up-side potential is exciting.
  13. If God is indeed merciful, your's should be the final contribution to this thread!
  14. Sorry, I think that one's being reserved for Mr. Mexico....
  15. Well, it seems they do (what a joke): "Looking up at dozens of empty black leather chairs and a lone lawmaker, former Steeler Steve Courson testified to Congress about his use of steroids and how that might have contributed to his heart disease." and: "In a hearing room where all but one congressman left because of a floor vote, he said steroid use in the NFL began in the 1960s and was prevalent in his day." http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05117/495484.stm
  16. Yep...when ol' Roscoe's running down the field, I'll bet he just pondering over stuff like this....(representative questions from Wonderlic test): Q. How many of the five pairs of items listed below are exact duplicates? Nieman, K.M. .......Neiman, K.M. Thomas, G.K. ...... Thomas, C.K. Hoff, J.P. ..............Hoff, J.P. 17. Thanks...found it myself. Here's another linky worth looking at: http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showth...ghlight=Shelton
  18. ...................................................................................... BTW, I found the following story, so even though you're technically correct about it being an approved absense , it doesn't sound too promising for ol' LJ: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/...rdsnb04260.html Boldin misses voluntary workout Kent Somers The Arizona Republic Apr. 26, 2005 "Offensive tackle L.J. Shelton was excused from the workouts. The team is trying to trade him." http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showth...ghlight=Shelton
  19. Well excuse me... But my statement still stands.
  20. Don't give up. Just provide a well-reasoned point of view, not emotional, off-the-cuff rants or unsubstantiated statements like "our O-line sucks." I think most TSW posters will respond in kind.
  21. No offense, but Shelton's about two inches away from being cut, and knows it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cardinals | Shelton Absent from Start of OTA - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 25 Apr 2005 14:27:54 -0700 Mike Jurecki, of XTRA Sports 910 in Arizona, reports Arizona Cardinals OT L.J. Shelton was a no-show for the team's on-field training session Monday, April 25. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now it looks like Shelton's crawling back to Denny on his belly and asking for forgiveness. TH on the other hand still has nothing to lose (yet) by moaning and groaning, because he knows TD's not going to cut him.
  22. This guy wants beaucoup $$$$, so no matter how you want to structure it, he's going to take up meaningful cap room. For example, say he gets a 4-year contract with an $8 million signing bonus...that's $2 million per year in cap space alone, not even considering his salary and incentives. I'd pass... It also sounds like Philly would like to move Simon for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick, which tells me they'd give him away pretty easily: http://ravens.scout.com/2/366966.html
