  1. I am REALLY bored...with these kind of threads. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football...2p-261226c.html
  2. I found the following NFLPA info on MW and Bryant McKinnie's salaries to be odd. I know this doesn't show the bonus and LTBE money, but it seems like Big Mike is making quite a bit more than McKinnie, even though he was picked only 3 spots higher: http://www.nflpa.org/Members/playerProfile.asp?ID=32980 http://www.nflpa.org/Members/playerProfile.asp?ID=32983

  5. To put this weekend's mini-camp in perspective, here are some news and notes from the 2004 camp. Prophetic and in DB's case, funny: 2004 Buffalo Bills mini-camp news and notes from Buffalo News and Rochester D&C:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...Losman is excited to be able to watch and learn from Bledsoe. "I've been watching this guy for so long, and now I see him in person it's kind of like a little shock, too," Losman said. "All quarterbacks in the NFL you look up to growing up, and he was definitely one of them. I was learning from him as much as I can. He's just basically showing me how it's done, and he does it right every time. The thing that I respect about him the most is how much the other guys respond to him when he talks. Everyone respects him, and so you have to learn how to get that respect." Bledsoe said Losman will be fine in time. "He's obviously a very talented guy," Bledsoe said. "It'll be interesting to watch him develop. Hopefully, in a few years down the road when I ride off into the sunset, I can look back and watch the progress he's made with us working together." Bledsoe said he understood the selection of Losman. "Completely," he said. "It makes sense for the organization. Hopefully, it will pay dividends for the Bills in the future - not just the immediate future." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Running back Willis McGahee got through his second minicamp without any setbacks to surgically repaired left knee. He appeared to have a bit of a hitch in his stride, but insists the knee is sound. "My knee is 100 percent, so it's not like I'm getting any swelling," McGahee said. "It's just the fact that I'm getting back used to things. It's going pretty good. I'm just trying to work on little stuff like my explosion, coming out of cuts." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lee Evans was confident he could outrun the defensive backs placed in front of him. What the speedy first-round draft pick from the University of Wisconsin couldn't leave in his dust were the emotions bubbling inside of him at last weekend's rookie orientation camp for the Buffalo Bills. So many years had passed. So many obstacles had been hurdled. Now here he was. In the National Football League. "It was exciting the first time putting on a professional uniform," Evans, 23, said. "I can't put it into words, that's how much it means to me. It's something I've set my sights on from Day 1, and finally now it's a reality. Throughout the whole process, I learned to never take anything for granted, so just stepping out there on the field was a blessing for me. Now I've got to take advantage of it." Evans is off to a roaring start. Sure it was only four practices, the first of many more before the Bills kick off the season on Sept. 12, but Evans left no doubt he can be a factor his rookie season. He caught every pass thrown his way, including a spectacular grab during the team's open practice on Saturday when he went over cornerback Terrence McGee, juggled the ball, and snagged it one-handed before it hit the ground. The Academic All-American also picked up the subtleties in the playbook, something that pleased coach Mike Mularkey the most. After all, fast is nice, but the faster a player learns, the sooner he plays. "He looked comfortable out there and it looks like he's picking things up rather quickly," Mularkey said. "You can tell a receiver, or any player, a lot of times when they're young and they don't play to their speed. They have a little bit of doubt, 'Am I doing the right thing?' But I didn't see that out of Lee. He came off the ball on a route we call 'Z-Win' - you want to win the game with a touchdown - and if he can't, he hooks it up at 16 to 18 yards. Well, he came off smokin'. He read it perfect. Those are things that typically you have to practice a few times to get them down."
  6. Hey, does this guy look innocent to you?! http://story.news.yahoo.com/photo/050430/480/garf10204301005
  7. What I want to know is, who filed the complaint? http://story.news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050428/...ex_dc&printer=1 OSLO (Reuters) - A Norwegian court has sentenced a woman to nine months in jail for raping a man, the first such conviction in the Scandinavian country that prides itself for its egalitarianism. The 31-year-old man fell asleep on a sofa at a party in January last year and told the court in the western city of Bergen he woke to find the 23-year-old woman was having oral sex with him. Under Norwegian law, all sexual acts with someone who is "unconscious or for other reasons unable to oppose the act" are considered rape. The court sentenced the woman Wednesday to nine months in jail and ordered her to pay 40,000 Norwegian crowns ($6,355) in compensation. "This is a very harsh sentence," the woman's lawyer, Per Magne Kristiansen, told the Norwegian news agency NTB. The woman argued the man had been awake and consented. The prosecutor had sought a 10-month sentence and argued the court should not be more lenient with a woman than a man. It was Norway's first conviction of a woman for rape. Norway has long traditions of equality -- 40 percent of the cabinet of Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik, for instance, are women.

  10. Whether he can play or not, I think it would be funny as hell if Shelton signed with the Bills after all of Denny's crowing about TD....
  11. He probably hates the previous GM who gave Shelton that big new contract. When they cut him, it will add $3.5 million in dead cap space to this year's salary pool. I don't put much stock in the opinions of the Cards' message board posters...how can you trust the talent evaluation abilities of a guy who has a Cards' logo tattoo on his arm!
  12. More on Shelton's impending release: Cards, Green can't avoid Boldin's absence Kent Somers The Arizona Republic Apr. 30, 2005 12:00 AM http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/...0cards0430.html Then Green reiterated one of his off-season themes, that he's going to be less patient this year than last, when the Cardinals went 6-10. "I've got a lot more on my mind about what I'm going to do with this football team," he said. "And I don't really care who buys into it or not." With that, Green started to leave, saying: "I think I've probably said enough." But he changed his mind when someone asked him about offensive tackle L.J. Shelton, who was not encouraged to attend. The team is trying to trade Shelton and didn't require his attendance. It's a precautionary move, but the club doesn't want Shelton to suffer an injury. If Shelton isn't traded, it's likely he'll be cut after June 1
  13. Interesting article from PFW on the top picks from the 2002 draft, three years into their careers. I won't include all the picks, due to space, but the Mike Williams vs. Bryant McKinnie comparison is interesting in light of all the hits MW takes on TSW : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It takes at least three years to accurately assess a draft class. The 2002 class produced at least six blue-chip players in the first round, including Julius Peppers, Roy Williams, Dwight Freeney, Javon Walker, Ed Reed and Charles Grant – with just as many coming in the latter half of the first round as the first half. Some teams regard John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth and Jeremy Shockey as blue-chip talents. Wendell Bryant, Mike Rumph and Marc Colombo were regarded as the biggest busts. Phillip Buchanon and Napoleon Harris, thanks to the Raiders, will get a chance to prove themselves again with new teams. What follows is a breakdown of the 2002 first-round class now that it can be evaluated after three years. Editor's note: Blue chip indicates an elite talent – a difference maker who consistently makes big plays. Red chip indicates an impact player with starter-type production who can improve in at least one area. Purple indicates a solid starter you can win with and who usually gets the job done. Orange indicates backup production. Green indicates a player with upside but who can be a liability to put on the field. A plus or minus indicates that a player is on the verge of fitting into another category. 4. Buffalo Bills OT Mike Williams | Texas Not a great athlete, but has made big strides under tutelage of Jim McNally. Can continue to improve in pass protection, but flashes ability to knock defenders off the ball as a run blocker. Evaluation: Red chip. 7. Minnesota Vikings OT Bryant McKinnie | Miami (Fla.) Too lazy and gets beat much more than a player with his athletic ability should, but he did finish last season strong. Has the size, natural athleticism and foot quickness to be dominant, but strength, conditioning and football demeanor are average. A very capable starter with upside. Evaluation: Purple-plus. As to other guys the Bills could have drafted in Round 1 had they opted to go in another direction, only 5 are rated as Blue chippers and 1 as Red-plus, ahead of MW: Roy Williams, Dwight Freeney, Javon Walker, Ed Reed, Charles Grant and Jeremy Shockey. It looks like the 2002 crop was pretty average, in retrospect. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2048948
  14. You're right, no shoulders from that pic. Better get that security guard application back our, Geir.
  15. Cards' message board chatter: http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showth...29&page=1&pp=15
  16. Man, that's a genius idea! I can't believe in this day of reality TV that the NFL or the networks haven't thought of that already. It would get tons of press coverage and be really fun to boot.
  17. Cardinals | Shelton Excused From Minicamp - from www.KFFL.com Fri, 29 Apr 2005 18:22:27 -0700 The Associated Press' Bob Baum reports Arizona Cardinals OL L.J. Shelton was excused from the team's minicamp which started Friday, April 29. With a potential trade of Shelton to the Buffalo Bills apparently dead, Arizona could release Shelton soon. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/...-noshow-ON.html "The only other player missing on Friday was offensive tackle L.J. Shelton, and he had Green's permission to be absent. The Cardinals have made it clear that Shelton, who started at right tackle most of last season, does not fit in their plans. With a potential trade to Buffalo for running back Travis Henry apparently dead, Arizona could release Shelton soon. If they wait until June 1 to release him, it would reduce the salary cap implications for the team."
  18. I'll pass on both of them. Now, Sophie Sandolo...there's one fine looking woman golfer. Um.... (you can Google to find her calander shot...I won't linky it, since TSW is a family-oriented site committed to high moral values!)

  20. Oh ****... TD installed tracking software on our company's network and now I can't spend all day on TSW.
  21. More often than not, why do I think of.... http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcry.../multspikes.jpg after reading some of your responses?
  22. Yep, and if he doesn't work out, he can always apply for the Bills security guard position!
  23. Wow....no need to shout, when a linky will do: http://www.nflpa.org/Media/main.asp?subPag...+Complete#art36
  24. I know. I was just busting on Florio's dream of someday joining the cast of the "Best Damn Sports Show"...
  25. Please don't use logic in the same sentence with Florio, unless there's an "il" in front of it.
