  1. Too much has been written about KW's joyride, but at least this guy has an interesting angle: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/colu...=orl-sports-col
  2. Snobbery will get you nowhere! Sigh.... [p.s. I had seasons tix for 16 years...can I get a few hundred posts knocked off my "graduation" requirement for that! LOL!]
  3. Welcome, newbies. My only request is that you talk a little FOOTBALL around here, just to balance out all the OT posts!
  4. Not an AHL fan, huh? "[league-wide] Average attendance in the first round was 4,275 – up 23.1 percent from the division semifinal round in 2004, and the highest first-round average since 1998." http://www.theahl.com/AHL/News/2005/05/02/1022533.html

  6. http://www.nfleurope.com/stats/leaders 0/0 on FGs and 1/1 on PATs Is this guy getting paid or is he on a European vacation!
  7. Anybody ever seen him play? http://www.nfleurope.com/news/story/8443097 ...France already tied two all-time single-game NFLEL records in Week One at Cologne, when he connected on 5-of-6 field goals - 54, 30, 26, 38 and 48 yards - and missed a 46-yarder. He tied the record for most field goals made in a single game... Also: Buccaneers | France Named NFLE ST Player of Week - from www.KFFL.com Wed, 4 May 2005 15:08:19 -0700 Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Todd France was named the NFL Europe Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time in five weeks after connecting on all three field goal attempts during Week 5, April 30.
  8. The before picture: http://us.news3.yimg.com/img.news.yahoo.co...f551351.jpg?v=1 OT: While I was looking for this scumbag's photo, I found some pics of Angelina Jolie at the same site and was surprised how smokin' hot she looked: http://story.news.yahoo.com/photos/ss/even...?sp=-1&lsp=6000 I don't seem to remember her looking this good in "Tomb Raider!"
  9. ....more pimping for Ezekiel! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...yers/75788.html Factoid from the East-West Shrine game: Even though Ezekiel was second team behind starter Lionel Turner, he ended up with 6 tackles (1 solo, 5 assists), third highest in the game and two more than Turner.
  10. I'd like to see if Gandy can stay healthy for a whole season...he always seems to be nicked up. IMO, that's the biggest reason why the Bears cut him.
  11. Not with Joe Linta as his agent. The guy's the anti-Rosenhaus. http://www.jlsports.net/players_profiles/joelinta.html FYI, check out TD's quote on Linta's website: http://www.jlsports.net/teammates.html "JL Sports may be the smartest agency in the business…they understand the rookie cap and the salary cap. They came in one afternoon and got 3 deals done." -- Tom Donahoe, Buffalo Bills President
  12. Agggh...I jumped back a few inches when that page opened up. Is that "war paint" on his cheeks?
  13. And here's a photo of the erstwhile Mr. Lederman. He looks like I thought he would...Got that Mick lip thing goin' on http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/pa...ls/3inn6ki9.gif Complete article (may need to register): http://www.nu-news.com/sections/282539.html
  14. I wouldn't put much stock in the ramblings of a pissed off 20-year old pencil-necked english major writing his first "column." As you said, LE's measurables are comparable to or better than the ILBs drafted in the second round. His agent, Joe Linta, is one of the most respected in the business. And the fact that "only 20" 1-AA linebackers are playing in the NFL, IMO, reinforces rather than hurts his chances of making it. Is he a lock? No way. But at the worst, he'll probably make the team as a ST wildman and if things work out, supplant Haggen as a LF's backup. I could go on, but this "columnist" isn't worth it...
  15. How long before KW himself ends up there???
  16. The OL depth is the biggest thing I'm excited about. I like both draft choices (very smart, blue collar maulers) and agree with you that Gandy and Anderson are effective (if not accomplished) vets who should be upgrades from Lawrence Smith and Marcus Price. McFarland might also be a real nice surprise if he's got his weight/strength up. Nevertheless, I think Shelton might still be a good insurance pickup, given that he'd come in at a much lower price tag. His $3 million per year salary, while low for a stating OLT, seems to have soured most teams--including the Bills--on his services. For some reason, I get a nagging feeling the Peters experiment might hit a pothole, despite the many fans he's got here at TSW!
  17. Oh great...another excuse for all the cowbells to come back out: http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0503ferrell03-ON.html Associated Press May. 3, 2005 NEW YORK - "Saturday Night Live" is getting some more cowbell. Will Ferrell will host the show May 14, his first appearance since leaving "SNL" in 2002 after seven seasons as a cast member, NBC announced Tuesday. Queens of the Stone Age will be the musical guest. Ferrell became one of the stars of the sketch comedy show with skits such as Craig the Spartan cheerleader, an impression of President Bush and the cowbell-playing member of Blue Oyster Cult. The 37-year-old actor stars in the soccer-dad comedy "Kicking & Screaming," which will be in theaters May 13 (the preview for which looks like absolute ****). He also co-stars with Nicole Kidman (ummmm...yummy!) in the upcoming "Bewitched," an adaptation of the classic TV show, directed by Nora Ephron.
  18. Browns | Winslow may Miss the Entire Season - from www.KFFL.com Tue, 3 May 2005 17:04:36 -0700 Clark Judge, of SportsLine.com, reports the Cleveland Browns are concerned injuries suffered by TE Kellen Winslow Jr. in his motorcycle accident may cost him the entire 2005 season. The primary problem, sources said, are potentially significant injuries to the right knee and right shoulder. The team cannot confirm the extent of the injuries until the swelling in the knee and shoulder subside. In addition, sources said the Browns believe Winslow may have suffered a punctured lung and an injury to his kidney, but neither of those injuries has the team overly concerned.
  19. I'm fascinated that people find her attractive...I see better looking women every day, regardless of where I go.
  20. I thought that was a very fair and balanced analysis, especially the comparison of JP to Palmer in Cincy. I've seen much worse from higher profile writers.
  21. LOL! That was my thought when I saw the title of this thread. Let's worry about "blue screens" before we hit the road, OK Bill.
  22. I think Bennie agrees with you. I saw a short interview clip of him on the Channel 4 sports roundup and he said something like, "I played pretty well against the Bills last year, so I should be able to do OK at the LG spot."
  23. I agree. Gandy appears to be this year's Lawrence Smith.
