I gave up on WGR a while ago because of all the OT discussions. But in their defense, the trend appeared to be driven by a severe lack of callers rather than an overt programming change. I can't tell you how many times I tried listening to Brad at night when the phones weren't ringing and he was just furiously treading water trying to fill air time. The lack of calls could be a sign that Sports Talk Radio has peaked. Or maybe it just shows how limited the concept is when there's no hockey to fill the months between the NFL season. In any event, the return of the NHL should help things this fall.

Come on, Scott. This "doctor" appears to be a quack. "Dr. Maloney is a proponent of a new procedure called JewelEye, a procedure in which a stone is implanted into the eyeball. ....Here is a picture of the aftermath of this procedure. Yikes!! (note this is NOT Kathy)" No reputable eye specialist would ever endorse doing something like that. As I said before, we should all respect each others opinion's. No one answer is right or wrong for every person/situation, particularly when it comes to medical procedures. All I can say is that I'm very happy I had it done. But that doesn't mean I'm qualified to give advice, other than a recommendation for Fichte if someone does want to choose a place to get it done.

I respect your opinion, but for every Internet website you can list on the "Con" side, I can match you with a "Pro." For example: Harvard Medical School Many of the horror stories on the net are for procedures done in the 1990s, when the technology was still developing. The rate of complications, which used to be about 5% has dropped to around 2% according to some of the studies I looked at prior to having my eyes done. Everyone has to decide for themselves. I don't think anyone should take advice from MB posters. Talk to friends, family, people you trust.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. When/where did you have the procedure done?

This post is one year too early. If WM puts up monster numbers this year, 2006 will be the time to worry about a holdout.

Let me get this straight: the Raiders are only $137,000 under the cap (worst in the league as of April 29 ESPN Linky ) and they want to sign a guy who's looking to be the highest paid WR in the game? Ol' Al Davis must be really getting senile to want to tie up 20% of this cap space at the WR position. Here's the Raiders Team Needs Needs Oakland has the skill positions covered, but their offensive line still has more holes than Robert Blake's alibi. Yet given the team's bleak salary cap situation, it's hard to imagine they'll have enough money to address this issue or any others via free agency. There is still a chance the Raiders will trade cornerback Charles Woodson to free up some salary cap space. Yet given that Moss has expressed his desire to play with Woodson, we expect team officials to avoid rocking the boat with Randy this early in the relationship. Oakland didn't finish last in rushing last season simply because their running back corps largely consisted of players that other teams gave up on. Quite simply, the offensive line is lousy. The addition of offensive tackle Robert Gallery in the first round of last year's draft was a nice start, but the Raiders still have a long way to go before this unit will be respectable. Finally, I think Jerry Porter's a terrific WR (remember how he killed the Bills a couple of years ago). They'd be nuts to give up on him: Porter's stats T.O.'s stats

I had my mine done by Fichte Eye Associates in Amherst (where many of the Bills players have gone, BTW) a couple of years ago and remain very happy with the results. http://www.wedg.com/fichte.html http://www2.buffalobills.com/fans/index.cfm?cont_id=205404 There are a couple of things to consider though: 1.) If you're over 40 years old, you may still need reading glasses, so don't think of lasik as "giving up glasses forever." Check with your doctor to see if this applies in your case. 2.) You may be marginally more sensitive to light for about a year. Just wear your sunglasses to cut down on glare. The biggest benefit of the surgery, IMO, is having the ability to be more active without worrying about/needing glasses. I'm constantly amazed at being able to see things perfectly when I'm swimming, sweating, etc. (after 30 years of being half blind doing those things). Do your research and talk to as many people as possible. If you go for it, don't use a chain or low cost place, spend the extra bucks to go with a doctor that has a lot of experience and the latest equipment. Good luck.

I think it's too bad we don't have Levi Jones instead of Gandy as well. How does this have anything to do with MW? I'd suggest putting some tin foil on your head for a while...you're reading way too much into this. -

What's wrong with that statement? He's probably right. If you look at Palmer's stats, he got off to medocre start and then got better each month that the season went on. JP will probably do the same thing. The big difference is the Bills' D and ST are better than Cincy's and may be able to pull out an extra win or two to get us a wild card spot. -

It's threads like these that caused me to give up prime time TV...there's more good laughs / genuine humor here than on the tube any night of the week! -
Question about Jeff Burris
Sound_n_Fury replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that's how the Bills have historically handled it. Rather than pay $20 million to Burris, they drafted Thomas Smith and kept him until FA made him too expensive. Then they drafted Winfield, and did the same thing. And then Nate... The Bills have been very good at drafting CBs since the mid-1990s. With the giant signing bonuses free agent corners are getting nowadays, they better hope their good luck continues. -
Question about Jeff Burris
Sound_n_Fury replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$$$$!!!! Do you really think Burris was worth $20 million over 5-years? I think history proved the Bills made the right choice. Burris was a nice player, but there's no way he should have made more money eight years ago that Nate Clements earned in 2004. -

$5-years, $20 million (nice contract, considering Nate only made $3.8 million last year ). -
Question about Jeff Burris
Sound_n_Fury replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You must be thinking of someone else. I found this on the Buffalo News archive: AULD ACQUAINTANCES WILL BE FORGOT WHEN BURRIS FACES BILLS Otober 11, 1998 By MIKE CHAPPELL Regardless of what happens today in the RCA Dome, Jeff Burris wants the Buffalo Bills to know one thing: It won't be personal. Since signing in February, Burris has been stationed at left cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts. He has brought veteran leadership and dependability to one of the team's more volatile positions. But when Burris steps on the field this afternoon, he'll do so against a team that brought him into the National Football League. He remains close to many of the Bills...(have to pay to get the rest of the article!) -
Wow did you see they want to do to Wherle Dr.

The Town of Clarence's population has grown by 38% (5,414 people) since 1990. The road system was never built to handle that kind of volume and it's been a major bottleneck for commuting. -
Question about Jeff Burris

I always thought Burris was one of the most polished guys that played for the Bills during that era. I doubt he's spout off, but I'll Google around a bit. -
