Losman's bailing out and going to safety valves too quickly. He's taking one quick look down field and then dumping it short if he doesn't see the pattern develop.
I thought he had plenty of time several times but just didn't show enough patience. On his interception (a 15-20 yard over-the-middle pattern, BTW) he had plenty of time. He just locked onto LE and the corner read his eyes.
Yeah, Atlanta's 50% conversion rate on third downs must be the O's fault too. The Bills won the time of possession (30:49 to 29:11) on a 75 degree day, so the D can't say it was tired.
That's why there are 120,000 fans running around telling people they were at the Come Back game
If you're going to call yourself the 12th Man, you have to stay til' the final whistle blows, good or bad. Otherwise, you're just a spectator.
Don't confuse JP's lack of success in hitting some throws with the effect it had on the D. The defense has to respect EM and LE if they are targets and keep the safeties back. The only place you can run every play is on Madden...
Sounded to me like the reporters wanted JP to point some fingers at the D. Sort of like "when did you stop beating you're wife?" I thought he bit his tongue pretty well.
Yes he did. Like it or not, there had to be some 3rd and long passing plays that JP had to hit...and didn't. The run-pass mix on play calling wasn't the problem. It was JP missing when he had to make throws.
MM and TC had a much better mix of passing plays called today and it worked in backing the 8-man fronts off to give WM the running lanes he needed. But if they went to a total run offense, we've seen a repeat of last week's TB game with the whole D crouding the line and Willis having nowhere to run.
Nobody likes to hear it but JP's just not executing and the coaches appear to be scrambling to find out what they can and can't do with him yet. Sort of like Carson Palmer during the first half of last year in Cincy.
The question that drove MM from the podium was "....so if our vaunted D isn't getting the job done to take the pressure off of JP, is the plan falling apart?"
And yes, I believe it was Sullivan who asked it.
