Now that we've seen they'll be wearing the 60s-era jerseys, I think the white helmet is a lock. It would look overly stupid if they wore the current helmet with the throwback jersey. As someone else stated, look at teams like San Diego and even Denver and New England on Thanksgiving Day a few years back. They go all out, jersey, helmet, the whole nine yards. You'll see the white helmet with the red standing buffalo, guaranteed.

That's where the white helmets will come into play.

Vanity Fair story identifying 'Deep Throat' as
loadofmularkey replied to UConn James's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Can't believe this hasn't been posted yet, but if I missed it and it has, please merge it. "Deep Throat" reveals identity after 30-plus years I would imagine the reporter for Vanity Fair must've wet his pants. -
Are you kidding me?? This is what they used to wear 40 years ago. It does look like a BILLS jersey. BTW, how many NFL teams actually have their logo on the jersey?? Not many. In other news, we all know how paranoid Berchtold and the PR staff can be over there...can you imagine the reaction at OBD this morning when it was discovered their grand unveiling was spoiled thanks to a clever computer person and a message board?? I'm glad I got to see them before the link became broken...sometimes it pays to stay up till 1:00am.

If all this comes to pass, I'll be walking around with one of these on my face for a week.

Should Frank Reich make the Wall of Fame?
loadofmularkey replied to Mort Hendrickson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be sentimental for Reich to go up on the Wall, but I don't think it would be right to do based on one game (however incredible that one game was ). Ultimately, you just can't put a career 2nd string QB up there. Same thing with Beebe...nice player, but considered 2nd tier on those teams. I think Phil Hansen should and will make it up there eventually...he fits the same mold as Talley, Richer, and Hull, all of whom have gone up in recent years. Fina doesn't stand a chance in hell. A jerky personality and an incredibly mediocre career with very few highlights will keep him off. Might as well put Lonnie Johnson up there. -
If this is what the alternate jerseys are going to look like (and I have no reason to assume they won't) I'm getting a Losman one on Saturday. These look exactly how I hoped they would...classic throwback, no extra frills as some here had feared. Now let's hope the helmets they wear will be white.

Firefly, Wonderfalls and Tru Calling were all part of Seth McFarlane's salvo at Fox during minute number one of the first episode of the new season of Family Guy. Hilarious

Turley been talking to the Bills
loadofmularkey replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In other news...anyone heard from Rudy lately? -
I dislike NASCAR about as much as anybody, but a contract is a contract especially when we're talking multi-millions.
-
According to Seth McFarlane on "Loveline" a few weeks back, he was made fully aware of Fox's plans to show Star Wars and then NASCAR. The racing is contractual and they wanted the network premiere of Ep. II to coincide with opening weekend of Ep. III. Don't worry though, I did see a Family Guy promo for next week...

Turley been talking to the Bills

If I had a dollar for every time someone posted a rumor on this board based on something they overheard from a person who is "very involved with the Bills"... -

WBUF 92.9 Changed format today
loadofmularkey replied to Talonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wasn't it only two weeks ago that Don and Mike were trashing all the Jack and Bob stations popping up around the country?? Now they've been replaced by one in Buffalo The program directors like to say that Jack FM is like "listening to your iPod". Well guess what...I HAVE A FRIGGIN IPOD. At 3:00 I want to listen to Don and Mike, not "Call Me" by Blondie followed up by Mellencamp's "Little Pink Houses". Wow, what an original idea...play all sorts of random songs that you can hear on every other radio station. I am bitter about losing D&M. -
I think I can pretty much guarantee that.

MAJOR Announcement from TD

Hey don't shoot the messenger!! I'm on your side. I was just telling you that certain people were getting their hopes waaaaaaaaaaaaay up for this major announcement. Personally I think the event is going to be awesome and I can't wait to see the new jerseys. -
MAJOR Announcement from TD
loadofmularkey replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's all about the $$ baby. Get those jerseys mass produced so you can get your very own on June 4th and show it off proudly all summer. Then the home opener rolls around and people are not only talking about the start of a new season, they again start talking about the new throwback jerseys and a new wave of them are bought in time for Opening Day. It's really not that much different than what they did four years ago when Kelly went up on the Wall. Why wouldn't they do it during the Miami game, everybody asked? Well because the team sucked on ice that year and the Miami was one of the few guaranteed sellouts. Instead, they scheduled it during the Seattle game in November and voila...instant sellout. The teams the Bills play (while nice for sentimental reasons) don't matter to them, the dates and circumstances surrounding the teams do. -
The Official "Unofficial" American Idol Thread
loadofmularkey replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes we know, you post the same thing every week. At least the show never did anything for Kelly Clarkson, who most people forget even got her start on American Idol. That being said, I think the finalists this year are different than in previous years because all three are pretty well defined. I could see Bo having a hit record or two with a decent band...I could see Carrie becoming popular on the country circuit...and I could also see Vonzell doing well on the charts doing her thing. A couple of years ago, Ruben and Clay could both sing but it was difficult to picture them having any sort of success following the show because no one really knew what kind of records they'd be coming out with. All they did for 10 or 12 weeks was sing covers of Motown and "Mack The Knife". They weren't clearly defined as pop, rock or country and here we are today. I think at least two of these three finalists will find considerable success on the charts following the show, IMO. -
MAJOR Announcement from TD
loadofmularkey replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because there were those who were sure that the "announcement of a major event" meant that Travis Henry was finally getting traded. Never mind the fact that a team has never ever gone into a press conference to announce a trade or signing by teasing at as a "major event" the day before... -
What will the "major" event be?
loadofmularkey replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good Lord, once and for all it is definitely the Celebration of Champions thinger. 1.) The TT Wall of Fame announcement was already officially made by the club, was all over the news five days ago, and was on the front page of the Bills website. 2.) What free agent signing/trade in the history of the world has ever been preceeded the day before by the team announcing on its website that an announcement for "a major event" will be forthcoming? It's never happened folks. If this were a free agent signing/trade, don't you think it would've been leaked by now either to a local outlet or ESPN? How about definitely. Here's how major free agent signings/trades work in the NFL today: --ESPN.com's John Clayton/Chris Mortensen/Len Pasquarelli reports that ___________ have signed ________________ to a ______ year deal worth _________. --Later that day, Team X announces they will be holding a press conference at _______. Team X never specifies what the press conference is regarding, because thanks to the magic of today's media, everyone already knows. --Team X makes the announcement that they have signed __________ to an undisclosed deal, as in accordance with team policy. If the "major" announcement today isn't the upcoming Celebration of Champions, I'll eat my hat! -

I don't like Anthony that much either, infact there have been abour 4 or 5 weeks where he should've been voted out, but last night he was pretty darn good. He wasn't the worst performer last night, and I agree. Carrie was. -

Great episode. "Lisa It's Your Birthday" is a pretty catchy tune.
