  1. Unreal. So who would the ones saying NO NO NO NO actually like as HC?? By the way, if Andy Reid were available would you take him? Because without Donovan McNabb, the teams he took to the playoffs are 8-8 at best. If Belicheck were available would you take him? Because without Brady they probably wouldn't have won 3 of the last 4 SBs. If Tony Dungy were available would you take him? Because without Peyton Manning the Colts aren't an AFC power. I am absolultely convinced there is not a single candidate out there that will make you people happy.
  2. I am 90% sure that the originator of this thread keeps posting opinions by ESPN radio personalities as fact.
  3. That is a knee-slapper
  4. When the word "safety" is actually used in one of these reports or comes from the lips of Mularkey himself, then you have an arguement. As of right now the word being tossed about by Mortensen is "criticism" as in, "Mularkey's family is concerned about criticism directed toward him". This could be insults that his kids are getting at school, this could be what has been written about him in the paper or what is said on the radio, etc. What it sounds like right now is that Mularkey's family has had it with the man of the house being called a "moron", "dumba$$", "dolt" or worse in regards to his coaching everytime they turn around. If someone has made physical threats toward he or his family, that is something completely different.
  5. Don't let your hate for Sullivan twist your view of Cottrell. From what I remember he led the Bills to the #1 defense in the league with guys like Keion Carpenter, Jay Foreman and Keith Newman. The Vikings defense was very good this year, and a big reason for their turnaround. As far as Childress not wanting to meet with him...do you think maybe Childress has his own guy that he wants to bring in, as is the case with most other new HC's? (Mularkey-Gray being a rare exception).
  6. There's a reason the Lightning decided to waive its captain halfway through the season. 42 reasons to be exact.
  7. It's a funny ad
  8. George Takei has been a regular guest on Stern for years. He's going to be the show's full-time announcer following the move to sat. radio.
  9. Because you use words like "jack-stain".
  10. Definitely. I know it couldn't have been only me (and you) who noticed an air of paranoia around One Bills Drive during almost all of Donahoe's tenure. Everything was so uptight and robotic during press conferences...that's why, while people seem to enjoy ripping on them, the PC's with Ralph solo and Ralph & Marv were so refreshing.
  11. I would love to know your sources as to what the Bills, four months prior to the draft and with a day-old GM, are thinking for their first-round pick. Can this guy play OL??
  12. You seem very pent-up
  13. Similar to how if you don't like what they have to say, you can choose not to listen to them.
  14. You'd think this would've been brought up on the board by now...weird...
  15. How dare you crusade like this?
  16. Listening now on WGR...anyone else hear the relief in Mularkey's voice??
  17. Who says we're surprised?
  18. He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
  19. Wait...wait...where did you get that from??? Link????
  20. I think it's easy for an "outsider" and a friend of Donahoe, such as Mortensen to look at the situation and simply say, "Well, the guy did all the right things including bringing in Bledsoe and McGahee, but 2005 was a down year" as Mort has said in his ESPN.com chats. The truth is, it's been more than one down year. It's been a down five years. Yes at the time bringing in guys like Bledsoe and M. Williams and Milloy seemed dynamic and genius, but the fact is moves such as those did not pay off. I know it's been absolutely beaten into the ground but the OL was addressed minimally. If Donahoe was the guy who went out, looked at Gandy and Anderson (or Ganderson as I affectionately call them) and decided that "Yes those two can make up the starting left side of the line next year" then something is seriously wrong. He made outstanding draft picks like Evans, McGee, Crowell, McGahee, Schobel, Clements and Henry but whiffed with the 4th overall pick, and on guys like Reed, Wire, Bannan, Denney, etc. He made it clear that JP Losman will be the starting QB in 2005 no questions asked. Looking back, does that make any sense to anybody?? Also, the most important decision a GM can make is the head coach...something that Donahoe failed at TWICE. And don't give me anything about how Mularkey is unproven and he deserves more than two years or anything like that, because if that were so obvious Ralph wouldn't need days to figure out if he's going to fire or keep him. Ralph said it himself during today's press conference. The last five years just haven't been good enough. 31 wins over FIVE seasons is not good enough. So spare me Mortensen and spare me with your pitchfork and crusade talk. The team has been incredibly mediocre since Tom Donahoe walked in the door and a change was needed, and if you can't recognize that then I guess it's your problem.
  21. And you're spending your night getting into a war of words with a radio talk show host on an internet message board. You also have a lot to be proud of.
  22. Wow, surprising coming out of Burris. He was a guy who wasn't shy about his Christian faith when playing here. Sorry to hear he's been haunted by those thoughts.
  23. Here's something that I've found interesting. We keep hearing from the national media (Clayton, Mort) that it appears Mularkey's job may be safe. Notice that we are hearing NOTHING about Donahoe (except from profootballtalk.com but they don't count). We know that TD is buddy-buddy with many of the guys over there at ESPN...I think that if Donahoe knew his job was safe, he would've let it be known to his media friends immediately.
