Good points all. Agree that Williams and Dareus could use help on the D-line, but I noticed that Kelsay was doing a very good job of disrupting plays at the line of scrimmage when he was lining up there. I think we all knew how thin the Bills are at LB talent from the start of training camp. There's no question we need coverage of backs, TE in passing situations as well as the occasional blitz package.

I can't find the original post, but I think it was the cynics in the media who jumped all over Gailey for saying that. Most of the posters responding said it was a refreshing change from Jauron's gloomy outlook.

Rankings like this are opinions not fact, so I don't let it bother me. Wins/Losses are the only evaluating factors that matter. Win alot of games and you earn respect.

Kinda hard not to say positive things about Brady last night. He has an ability to immediately recognize the weakness of a defense and exploit it. The Miami guys trying to cover Branch and Fernandez were toasted repeatedly. Makes me worry that Brady is going to salivate when he sees McLovin across the line of scrimmage when the Pats play Buffalo. Who ever he covers....Branch or Welker...is going to see the ball alot.

ITA. I'm sure Todd Haley is getting roasted for having his team poorly prepared. They looked like a team that expected to win just by showing up. I think the Buffalo media whiffed on this game because none of them expected Kansas City to be so bad although they might have if they paid attention to their pre-season. I'd also like to believe they didn't see this coming because Gailey put an emphasis in camp on conditioning rather than pre-season games. And I think the play calling in those games was very vanilla; those games weren't a good gauge of what the Bills can do.

What else do people expect Gailey to say. "We're exceedingly mediocre and there's no point in playing the season"? C'mon of course he's going to say he expects the team to win.

Trading down in the draft for more picks always seems like a good idea unless those 2nd and 3rd rounders turn out to be busts. The best thing the Patriots have done with some of those lower picks is turn them into veteran acquisitions. They have been successful at FA acquisitions and trades. Vrabel, Harrison, Moss, Welker, Dillon, and the various OL FAs they got were an impressive group of FA acquisitions/trades. I don't think you can compare what the Patriots have done draft-wise with a team like the Steelers who have built multiple championship teams through the draft.
