I just made my call to Directv to end our long term relationship
davefan66 replied to Xwnyer's topic in Off the Wall
Classy sign off by Andrew. Honestly will miss him, hope he is somehow involved in the next iteration of ST/Redzone. He’s a NFL network guy, so not sure how that would work. That being said, will now need to research who my next tv source will be. Waiting to see if YouTube has a new subscriber deal including ST. Verizon had been all over my neighborhood placing new fiber runs, expect FIOS to finally be available. Not sure what my next move is, just know I gotta get rid of DTV and reduce my bill. -
Final 2023 first-round NFL Draft order after Super Bowl
davefan66 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Will be interesting what current QB’s get in the mix. Does Rodgers stay? Mitch? Did Tannehill play his way out of Tennessee? If Mr. Irrelevant takes the niners to the dance, what happens with those 3? Brady watch, part..who even knows. Is Mac on a short leash? Minshew had his chance to shine, wasn’t great. If McVay stays, does he keep Baker. What about Stafford? Do the Cards take a huge hit and get rid of Kyler? Ditto Broncos. Where does Derek Carr end up? Zach Wilson? Did Heinicke play his way out of Washington? What happens with Lamar and his contract? Going team by team, didn’t realize how many starters/decent backups could be switching teams next year. I’m sure some will stay, but there will definitely be movement. Do teams go with known entities, or draft and hope their guy is the next great QB? Will be an interesting off-season. -
Schedule looks good. Never know though what teams continue to be good, what teams fall off, or what teams elevate their play. I understand why we play kc again…but can someone explain why they continue to get us at home? I get the rotation, and playing certain seeded teams. Not whining, just askin.

Bease will need to step up. Brown had a great catch for sure, doesn’t necessarily elevate him to number 2. McKenzie. Done with him. Bease should get his playing time for sure, but.. Shakir should have been developed better this year. Not sure if he had trouble getting open, running routes or blocking, but wish he had had more impact. Seems over the last few games any pass to him was either a throw away over his head, or into traffic that most players would have trouble with. His catch and YAC yesterday was nice. Exactly the type of play we need from him. Davis. Dude has the yips. May be part of Allen’s struggles this year? Not able to depend on him when he wants? Can’t bench, he’s too good. Can’t have him continue like he has though, dude has got to get better. Maybe if the team has an actual real week before a game, Josh and him can spend some time to try and get past this. edit. Dorsey needs to do better incorporating the run game and taking some pressure off Josh. Game was going bills way and Josh was still in shotgun throwing. Need to run to kill clock. Need to have an effective run game to open the pass game.

Mitchell Trubisky regrets signing With Steelers
davefan66 replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills will most likely go for a vet with some sort of a track record. If that’s staying with Keenum, so be it. As for Mitch, under the Daboll watch I’d probably want him back. Under Dorsey? Maybe not. Allen is having a tough enough time under him, don’t see Mitch thriving here as a backup. -

When it was obvious he was taking it to the house, the crowd went absolutely nuts! It kinda felt like a collective sigh of relief. Amazing!! -

Disappointed, but not surprised. Figured Stidham wouldn’t have the same game as last week, but had hope. Wish the refs called a better game, makes a loss feel worse. I can’t get mad at us not being number 1 seed. I can’t. What happened was more important than any football game. That being said, starting tomorrow the Bills destiny is in their own hands. Damar is making a remarkable recovery and the team can now focus on what’s ahead of them knowing he will be OK. Whatever happens this season, it had been an honor watching this team handle the adversity they have with so much love and grace. -

Bang bang play?? No! Adams had an arm around his throat. Gotta call those DPI’s! Just makes it worse when the dback knows they can get away with it. -

I hate the fade pass. One of the most low percentage plays in the red zone. Should have rolled Stidham out. -

With proper training, anyone can do CPR. I’m sure Kellington has had extensive training for this type of scenario. It shows in how they saved Damar’s life. Problem is, not everyone does proper CPR. The importance is proper depth and rhythm, or as they called it “High Quality CPR”. Proper depth is 2” and 100 to 120 BPM to enable proper circulation. Ventilation is also important for oxygenation. Intubating him as they did allowed for ventilation via an ambu bag allowing for little or no stopping of compressions. It is not easy to perform CPR and keep up with the amount of pressure to achieve that depth and the proper amount of compressions per minute. Sing the song “Staying Alive” in your head and that’s the rhythm you need to achieve. It’s brute power to keep up with the depth needed. What this team of people at his side on the field did is nothing short of a miracle. Incredible response time and working flawlessly to save his life. Amazing work.

Peyton Hillis in critical condition

Prayers for Peyton. Thankfully and hopefully he continues to improve. Can 2023 just stop trying to one-up the last few years?? -
What if the Bills refuse to play the Patriots?
davefan66 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
A wildcat strike is a strike by union membership that does not have union leadership authorization. Pretty sure the union would not step in and tell the Bills, or any player wishing not to play this weekend they have to play. Nor would the NFL. -

Appreciate the response. I understand what you are saying, and I understand many probably feel the same way. I hope you understand my take. At the end of the day, all that really matters is this young man continues to improve and regains most, if not all of his pre-injury self. -

Terms I can understand? Thank you dearly for helping me throw out any shred of empathy I have for the situation and those involved. You are correct! A game that does nothing to change my life is more important than the mental health and well being of those involved in the situation. If the people involved closely with what happened decide they can’t move forward, only THEY have the right to make that decision. I wouldn’t question this teams desire to win or think any less of any one of them. -

davefan66 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I understand the emotions. I do. My question is, why do they “have to move forward”? Especially on others timelines? Just asking. I’ll be honest. If they decide to play, good for them. If not, I’ll support the team. Thing is in this league you need to be 100% your mind in the game. If not, you are at risk for injury, and obviously at risk for losing the game. I’m not saying what they should do, just saying I would support these men in whatever decision they make. -

davefan66 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why is it that they have no choice? The league has said they will support the Bills in their decision. I think whatever they do will receive support from the other players and teams in the league. Look at how shook Aaron Rodgers was if you saw his interview. How others spoke of the situation, coaches and players. I think this team is incredibly close, more so than any other in the league maybe. That is a big part in how devastated they are. -

That’s the question, isn’t it? Does the team move forward? If the team doesn’t move forward, how does it impact the season? Thats up to them to decide. If they choose to play, it is their decision. If they choose to not play, it is their decision. I don’t expect McDermott or Beane to force a single one of these guys to do play now, or later. Looking at the players reactions while it happened spoke volumes to me. This is something a number of them won’t “get over” in 6 days, weeks or maybe months.
