Cameron Brate possible cut, should we sign him?
davefan66 replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. Kind of a must have thread whenever someone gets cut that wasn’t Mr. Irrelevant. Oh man, that’s gonna change! It’s one of my pastimes actually. As soon as I read a known individual get cut, I come here to see the thread. Never disappointed. Although, there is always some go pros and cons within the thread. -
Old Buffalo Bills Message Board
davefan66 replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Started on this message board a long time ago under a different name. Stopped posting for a bit and once I came back I had lost those credentials. Signed back up using my current name (not a lot of originality, I know) and posted for a bit. Found BBMB, and for no particular reason shifted there using this name. Found my way back after they nuked BBMB. Kinda miss some of the goofy stuff from over there - some of the odd posters like TOSharpie (sp?), some of the posters that didn’t make it to here that are mentioned above, rogue moderators, permabans, etc. Very happy I found my way back. -
I’m for whoever coaches up the defensive line to play to their potential. Provide consistent pressure up front, helps the defensive backs do their jobs. First couple games this year showed that. That is contingent on aggressive play by the defensive backfield. No longer play 10 yards off the WR. Hit them coming off the line.

My son and I grill wings every home game. Used to par boil them to help expedite cooking and not dry them out. Now I Sous Vide them. Grilling time is cut in half and they come out super juicy. Figure that would work for air frying also. As for deep frying, have the Butterball XL for turkeys. Deep fry them in peanut oil, comes out perfect. Has a spout on the back, just strain right back into the oil container. Can use several times until it becomes dirty.

Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
davefan66 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m conflicted with this. Damar has been attending meetings, hanging around the facility for the last week. Not sure why he would deflate the team. What Saffold said about “uncharacteristic things” is more concerning. Is he pointing to a divide in the locker room? Was it a poor week of preparation? Is he trying to bolster his view the team was tired? Not a great choice of words without providing context. -
There was nothing fancy they just got beat

No more journeyman offensive lineman. Q stood tall a few times. Saffold played well at first, then folded down the stretch. Need to draft a few early round guys who can provide youth to the line. Need better defense line coaching or a change in scheme. -
Beane is going nowhere. After the job McDermott did this year holding the team together, he is going nowhere. Frazier? Unless Sean’s job was on the line, he’s not firing Frazier. We may have been a top rated defense this year, but a change would be good. Need more out of the defensive line for sure. Need to stop giving up huge amounts of yards. Bend-don’t beak isn’t good enough.

It was a bad finish, but after all the distractions the team faced this year I can’t believe they held it together as long as they did.

Free Agents and Offseason Situation
davefan66 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kinda worried, but Beane will be Beane and fill the roster. Concern is, the estimated increase of 11-12 million doesn’t fix our problems. Will need to restructure some contracts to gain space enough to keep this team viable as a Super Bowl contender. A running theme with Beane is picking guys up and hope they become diamonds in the rough. One of those is Hines. Hines didn’t flash as a runner, but did great in returns. Not sure he lands a roster spot based on that. I believe Beane had hope he’d be a good backup to Cook next year. That now leaves a decision on Singletary. You can’t sign him for what he will want. Although I don’t believe he will get a huge deal in FA, but it will be more than Buffalo will be willing to offer. Need to spend time getting Shakir ready as a 3rd WR. Also need to draft another in the higher rounds. Davis needs to get his act together as well. Not interested in journeyman offensive line any more, but don’t see any change in that philosophy. Q, Ike and Van Roten will be brought back. Saffold showed his age and don’t see him back unless it’s as a backup and cheap. Need to spend a higher round pick on an offensive lineman. Someone you can groom to start. Id like to keep Phillips. Although he may have done well enough to demand more than Beane is willing to pay. Shaq can be had at lower amount. Need the other guys to be more consistent. Groot should take another leap. Don’t see how Edmunds is resigned. My concern is spending big bucks on guys who have their best seasons in the last year of the contract. I’d like this years Edmunds back, not the guy from previous seasons. Need to sign Poyer. Our backup FS and SS are not ready to start. I’d draft a backup in the higher rounds. No doubt Bills are in the window. Salary cap is an issue. Current backups are not ready to step up in starter rolls. Beane will probably work his magic and keep this roster largely intact. Not sure that will be enough. -
Who are you rooting for next week? Cincy or KC?
davefan66 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cinci. Hate mahomes too much. -
Feel he hasn’t been up to the challenge several times this year. Dline should have been a menace all season, wasn’t that way. Schemes start with the D coordinator which translates to what happens on the field. Coaching up players is the positional coaches. Players gotta play, but need to be put in the right position. Defense couldn’t get off the field this half. We can say all we want about the offense, but they were losing possessions all day because of the D.
