  1. I beg to differ, nothing in life is free, especially when it comes from a big business. Such as, with DTV, I was told my new HD receiver was "free", but in the small print it added two years to my agreement so over time I actually pay for it . DTV just chooses to add HD as a line item on my bill, while TW tells us it's "free". Trust me, if they pay for it(TW), so are the customers.
  2. There are a few ways to get around tree interference, like putting the dish up on a pole or the tallest part of the house (has it's drawbacks though). Although, the new DirectTV dishes do a much better job with tree and atmosphere (snow/rain) interference.
  3. Yes, DirectTV has new dishes that greatly reduce downtime due to snow/rain. I used to lose signal quite a bit, got the new dish, and have been out of service only a couple of times since the beginning of the year. The biggest problem with snow is when it accumulates and ices over, than I gotta hang on the gutter to knock off the ice. Also, DTV has a few pluses over TW. Yes, you do pay $10/month for HD on DTV, but you receive many more channels than TW. Thing is, you do pay for HD on TW, they just don't line item it. Overall, I pay $10/month less with DTV then a comparable package with TW, and have 2 additional boxes in the house. Now when it comes to broadband internet, DTV does not have a viable option. I have broadband and telephone from TW, and pay $3 more a month than Verizon phone and dial-up internet access. I do still pay less for DTV and the TW internet/phone option than if I went full bore with TW for everything.
  4. Forget TW. DirectTV is cheaper, and has more channels in HD, and the Sunday Ticket.
  5. I thought Al did a pretty good job in the press conference. He showed passion and was pretty articulate. I was on Lane's side prior to this, but now am on Al's side. I believe he held this conference because he really did want to stay out of Lane's face, and looked like and a$$ by not doing something about this stuff earlier. Now he wanted to clear the air and give his side, which I actually believe. Like Al said, if he didn't believe he would win the case against Kiffin, he wouldn't have done it. With Al's track record, I don't think Kiffin is getting paid. Also, Kudo's to Al for calling out Mortenson and calling him a liar! Loved it. Good read: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/09/30/...opaganda-lying/
  6. It's official http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/09/30/...-kiffin-is-out/ http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/09/30/...succeed-kiffin/

  8. Dude, drink more beer. A nice beer gut should fill out that jersey pretty well.
  9. Yep, looked that bad. Seems to me his footwork and gamespeed need work, hands seem fine. His poor footwork keeps him out of position, and when he tries to catch up, he gets in trouble. Has a lot to do with conditioning, missing all those preseason games is definitely taking its toll on him.
  10. While I agree Marv helped guide them through tough times, Russ Brandon is the future of the Bills. Love Russ and the things he has done for this team. If you agree with his moves (Toronto) or not, he has the best interest of this franchise at heart. Don't mind Marv being a "Face of the franchise" and maybe being a member of the hierarchy, but not the ultimate decision maker....or consensus maker.
  11. Yeah. But he got himself pretty motivated after that though.
  12. I DVR'd the game (was working) and am watching it without sound listening to the radio. Here are my thoughts while watching: 1. Didn't post it here, but thought the Bills might lose the Rams game. Did not like the 1st half at all and did not see much from the Bills that would led me to believe they could win. 2. I do like Trent, very much. Love his body language, especially when things are not going right. Love his touch on the ball, puts it in some tight places were only the WR will get it. Does not get rattled. I'm not worried he will screw up every time he goes back to pass. 3. Lynch is a BEAST! Love the way he runs, just wish he was a bit more fluid with his cuts. 4. Love what the coaching staff did after halftime. Made some major adjustments that won the game. 5. This team believes they will win. That is the difference between a 0-4 and 4-0 team. Just look at the Pats* in the past, a team that imposes there will on the opponent and wins. This team is learning how to do that and has showed us the past few weeks. 6. Don't care if they "Haven't played anyone yet". Every team that has made the playoffs has played against a scrub team at some point in the season. 7. Most important, if they could play the whole game as they did in the second half, man they could absolutely be the best team in the league. Love this team and am expecting a whole lot from them this year. As an aside, what the heck is Leonard Little still playing in the NFL for? I got sick to my stomach every time I saw this guy during the game.
  13. The Rams give up 25 points in the second half on defense, and Haslett ends up the interim head coach. Kinda funny.
  14. Peters has given up at least a sack game since his return, plus Lynch had a huge run wiped out by a holding penalty by Jason "Pay Me" Peters. Sorry Jason, this is a league of what have you done for me lately, and your performances don't equate to $7 million/yr.
  15. I guess Jason is stupid....thought he was pro bowl caliber in the offseason. They showed a replay were he pushed his guy "out of the play" about 2 inches and the dude ended up smacking edwards. Funny part was, Peters walked his way towards the play and looked like a LAZY PIECE OF SH*T! The dude suked again this game. Let him sit a couple of games to get his head in it.
  16. I would say tomorrow. Gone on Monday. At least they have a reason to can his a**.
