I see this as a great idea. I think too many guys get blown out of the league without seeing the field. If the league has spring games and then gets rid of the preseason games in the summer, I think it's a huge plus. Spring games would be cheaper and the fans would have not have to pay full price like they do now for presason games. Plus, we get two more games in the regular season. Also, if a guy gets a pulled hamstring in the spring, who cares. He has time to get well and he doesn't miss weeks during the fall season.

\ Ticket scalpers always sell before a market is starting to tank. I was a ticket scalper and I seem to be able to call it better. I find that people who listen to others always do worse than they normally would. Take control yourself. I've never had money in the stock market, but I did tell my parents to dump all their mutual funds and they did it before the bailout was passed. I know I just contradicted myself, but my mom wanted to get out and I told her to do it. You could just feel that the market was going to tank even if the bailout passed. No one was for it. That means get out. I think it's going to 5,000. The bad news has to stop before we have a prolonged rally and that's not going to happen soon. We may be in real trouble. I hope not.

I think the Dow will be drop to 5,000 or a little under that. I have two thoughts: 1. Part of me thinks that Wall Street is just a bunch of spoiled brats, like Dave Ramsey says. Wall Street reacts just for the sake of reacting. Common sense is never a part of the market. It's overreact everytime. Wall Street did this in the late 90s in the dot.com boom and I think they're doing it again, but instead of going up it's going down. Wall Street is hanging on every "bleeping" word out of someone's mouth. I think they should just invest in a company and not worry about someone's mouth running. So I think it also could rebound really fast, like it's a "false crash". 2. Part of me also thinks this is real and it really should have happened in the 90s, but it didn't. Now we will suffer dire consequences because of the delay with bigger losses mounting. And I also think college educated people are to blame. For some stupid reason, college educated people act like they're the only ones who deserve to make a good wage, salary, etc etc. And educated managers cut labor costs down to nothing. Cut, cut, cut. Downsize, downsize, cut, cut. "The company needs to get lean". The economy tanks, interest rates fall to prop it up. There are not enough people with money to buy a house. So they push sub prime loans and ARM's and the whole economy goes under. Some really smart educated people out there. Didn't Henry Ford say he paid his workers $5 a day so they could buy a car?

I watched the Arizona-Bills game after the Broncos game and I don't think you guys should feel that bad. Like I said earlier in the week, Warner is that good and I think he's the best QB playing in the NFL right now. And if Dallas fans think they're going to have it easy, they're nuts. Dallas has a better pass rush than Buffalo, but I still think the Cardinals can score at will against them, in fact, I think the Cardinals can score 30 points on any defense in the league. The Cardinals should win all but two games on their schedule (Carolina and NY Giants) and they'll make the playoffs. They could do some damage there too. And I base all of this on Kurt Warner. We're talking about a two-time MVP guy here. He's not the joke so many people portray him to be. Losing to the Jets and Redskins, doesn't look so bad now. And killing the Dolphins looks even better.

Kurt Warner walks on water (post two)
RLflutie7 replied to RLflutie7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kurt Warner is not a turnover machine and you know it. When you said he had 80 fumbles in 104 starts you were implying that he had lost 80 fumbles. He's lost only 36 fumbles in his whole career. Plus, he has only one year with over 20 ints and his number of sacks is way below others . . . like Elway . . . another one of my favorites . . . I also did more research and you are wrong about the fumbles thing. Most fumbles in a career: Warren Moon (Hall of Fame) 161, Brett Farve 147 (Hall of Fame), plus he rules the world in INTs, Dave Kreig 153 (should be in the Hall of Fame) 9th all time TDs thrown (according to his website). I did an edit on this post to add the info. -
Kurt Warner walks on water (post two)
RLflutie7 replied to RLflutie7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for making a better post than mine. I can't understand why people don't like Warner. They sit on Tom Brady's jock and rub Brett the right way and yet no love for Warner. Warner's numbers last year were just as strong if not better than Brady's, especially in the last seven games. And he was void of a running game also. -
Kurt Warner walks on water (post two)

You just proved my point. How many QBs have thrown 160 TDs in 98 games. Name another QB who has come close to those stats. I remember looking at his stats when he had 2 TDs per game (after about 40-60 games) No other QB can say that. Name a QB who comes close to that. People need to grow up. I think Warner got into a personality conflict with Mike Martz and Martz made a snide remark about certain NFL players need to read their playbook more rather than the Bible. And I think I know who he was talking about. Mike was making it a personality issue rather than a production issue. There was also that 2003 or 2004 SI preview issue where his teammates where defending Warner against an irate fan base. The guy was a two time Superbowl QB within three years and he threw over 40 TDs. My point is, Warner gets ripped all the time and other QB performances don't come close to his. Brett Farve has the lead for INTs, so I think anyone can understand my point. -
I would put Warner in the top 10 of QBs to have played in the NFL, no question, and I think Warner put that on display in the second half last week. He got beat up and made mistakes in the first half, but he proved he's one of the best QBs in the game in the second half. Warner is probably the best 2 minute QB to play the game and he's deadly when they come out throwing to start the game. I'm thinking that Bills fans are scared of Warner and the Cardinals. Warner gets dismissed because people got tired of his thanking Jesus all the time. But, he gets written off and he keeps coming back. His performance doesn't deserve the second class treatment. He does committ turnovers, but overall, his play has been far better than about 95% of NFL QBs. When he's been on the field, it's mostly positive. Warner doesn't have much of a running game and he still puts up big numbers in the passing game. I think James has had about one or two games over 100 yards rushing since he's been with the Cardinals. Anyway, enough of the Warner lovefest. I'm sure you all have some thoughts.

Why Don't Americans Mass Default?
RLflutie7 replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I thought the same thing. If banks can walk away and let the tax payers pay the bill, why can't average the average guy . . . and I think it will happen . . . but not by choice. -
Thanks, I can always get my answer here.!

Didn't they put rules in place to suspend trading on the stock market if it ever fell more than 500 points?
-
Taken off by cart on a back board. I thought he had a TD with about 30 seconds left.

Kurt Warner walks on water . . . game's not over yet.
-
And it could be that Kurt Warner is in another SB before he is done.

I think the same thing. He looks pretty darn good. -

I sent them a credit card application a few days ago. I wonder if they'll still give me the 7.9 rate. 0% until Jan.

Ranting against Free Government Cheese
RLflutie7 replied to finknottle's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I agree with everything you said. . . but "your own stock portfolio" is fools gold. You work 60 hours a week, only to have Wall Street destroy everything with bad bets. It's not that you bought stocks . . . it's just that Wall Street's bad behavior on your dime, and everyone else's dime, has brought everyone down. -
I think some of the folks on CNBC have been pretty good. The guy on morning show squawkl box has been pretyy good. He basically said the bail out has too many holes in it and it's not going to work. They also laid into Bush, Paulson and Bernanke.
-
Not all are saying that on TV. Some on CNBC are saying that but not all. In fact, a majority say that the tax payers will pay. I also heard hedge funds are exploring their legal options????

Social Security and The Financial Mess

Yep, just slap it on the credit card and let the kids and grandkids pay for it all, meanwhile grandpa and grandma live the "high life". -
Social Security and The Financial Mess
RLflutie7 replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's trillions of dollars in relief and now on CNBC their saying "money market mutual funds" are also going to get relief. I don't understand much of this, but don't a majority of Americans hold mutual fund accounts? So in other words, we are bailing out ourselves? Poor people bailing out the rich, i.e. those that don't have a mutual fund are propping up the investments of others that do. I'm not liking this. If you have an investment that means money is put at risk. It's clear, the leadership in this country doens't want their wealth wiped out and they'll do anything to protect it. It's just wrong. We are not communist. -
Jay Cutler is better than John Elway
RLflutie7 replied to RLflutie7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the smarty pants out there: Elway first 25 starts: 25 TDs, 4261 yards and a 51.9% rate. Jay Cutler first 23 starts: 35 TDs, 5148 yards and a 63.4% rate -
At the same time in their careers, as far as games started, Culter is light years ahead of Elway. Elway had a tough go of it and he's a hall of fame guy, but Jay finds open guys better and he runs a standard offense better than Elway did.
