53 Man Roster: Projection After OTA/Minicamp
below replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was a nice story but they're clearly trying to upgrade from him. Star's return on its own knocks Zimmer out of the DT rotation. Obada, Basham, and Rousseau all have the potential to play DT on passing downs. And theyve signed several DTs on top of that. -

Yup, as an experienced starter Ike may have some trade value. -
RD 2, Pick 29 (61): Boogie Basham, DE (Wake Forest)

"A lot of his sacks came from the interior" "We see him as an edge but in passing situations you'll see him rush from the inside" -Brandon Beane 4/29/21 -

Beane already said Rousseau will play DT on pass downs. -
Bills not tendering Levi Wallace; have offered a contract

They did the same thing with McKenzie last year bought brought him back eventually. -
Sounds crazy but Jon Feliciano might not re-sign

I bet their offer right now is backup/fringe starter money like the deal they signed Spencer Long to a few years ago. Unlike Daryl Williams where we had NO ONE to replace him, we have leverage and are ok at guard (Ford/Boettger) even if we lose him. I'm sure there are other versatile C/G types Beane is eying for plan B if Feliciano leaves. At least he could net us a comp pick next year. Hopefully we get him back! -
Mcshay Mock has Najee Harris to Buffalo

Singletary would probably net a 5th rounder in a trade. -
LOL ...."saves 1.1 million". The cap for 53 players will be like 175 million this year. Which means the AVERAGE cap hit per player in the NFL is over $3 million TJ Yeldon made over 2 million last year for god's sake. Not only would outright cutting him be mind-numbingly stupid....you'd have to pay MORE to replace him. What a dumb thread.
-
Very impressive how he switched to LE this year, after spending his whole career on the right side.

Lots of possibilities this offseason. On one hand we have almost no cap room. On the other hand we have the potential to clear a lot of space with Hughes (8m) Morse (5m) Brown (8m), Jefferson (6m) Addison (5m), Butler (7m), Matekevich (3m). That's potentially $40 million. A few weeks ago I figured there was no way we'd let Brown go but it's becoming obvious Davis HAS to play full time. Of course we won't release all of them but definitely will lose some of them. My guess: release: Jefferson, Butler, Brown, Matakevich. Possibly extend ONE of Jefferson/Butler for extra cap room. Maybe get a 5th or 6th rounder for Brown in a trade. re-sign D.Williams, Feliciano and one of McKenzie/Roberts. Milano gone for a comp pick and pretty much all the other UFAs gone unless VERY cheap. We'd take a hit next year but collect comp picks and have more money for the future. Very dependent on a good draft in 2021 to replace our losses. Or we could go the Saints route: push money into the future and go all-out next year.
-
No chance on David. Milano's replacement is already on the roster: AJ Klein. We COULD take a swing on a pass rusher if we released Hughes and Addison. No clue if Barrett fits our D. More likely we just keep the status quo though and hope that Oliver and Epenesa step up on the DL.

25 long years ago! I was 40! 😢 😁

I was 12 and the Bills had gone to the Superbowl every year I watched. I remember wondering how Bengal fans could stand supporting such a bad team year after year (5 years in a row). I had no clue how good I had it. But now I do. We've been here before with high hopes that eventually got crushed. The fast starts followed by atrocious finishes. The Billsy losses that seemed to ruin out seasons singlehandedly, reminding us if the losers we were. After the Az hail mary I was devastated. But it was different from the NE losses or the Dallas MNF loss. One unlucky play did not destroy our season. Now we have JA. Even if we fail this year we will have a great opportunity next year. And the year after that. And after that. It's a feeling that only last year seemed incomprehensible. -
Did D. Williams Make a LOT of $ Tonight?

How many teams can you name with TWO OT's signed for multiple years at 10-15 million per year? With Dawkins signed it's probably not realistic to keep Williams. Even if we squeezed him under the cap next year the contract would hurt us down the road. We are probably looking at Ford, Bates, or a high draft pick at RT next year. -
Could John Brown be Released Next Off-Season?
below replied to Halloween Land's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They could have saved similar money this year by cutting Murphy and they did not. The cap situation isn't bad. They can free up enough money by restructuring a few contracts and releasing less-critical players. Brown is a very good WR and well worth his salary. No chance they cut him. -
Top 20 AFC training camp battles to watch (Bills listed 3 times)

"Addison rushed more than 95% from the right side from 2016 to ’18. Last year, Addison rushed 18% from the left and the rest from the right." Highly likely that Addison will be splitting time with Hughes at RE and only rotating in at LE in passing situations. Given the DT depth I've gotta think they saw Jefferson as a LE at the time of his signing (maybe that's changed somewhat with Star opting out). Epenesa/Jefferson at LE Hughes/Addison at RE Murphy is trade bait. -
[Vague Title] Worth a look in my book...

The pro bowl always seems to have a few OL...guards in particular....who make it based on reputation. It just seems to be the same guys voted in by default year after year. Remember Ruben Brown going like 8 years in a row? And didn't Jeff Saturday get voted in even though he was benched by GB? If Watford was that good Saints would have kept him, or at least got some value back in a trade. -

By the time Josh gets paid I think Morse will be gone. -
They will sign one after the draft.
