But it is the truth! A lot of fans think that every player should be Pro Bowl ready from day one! Some think every player should be PERFECT and walk on water; they basically diss every player on the team; especially the bandwagon type! I thought it was the job of opponent fans to bash the team not our own! I mean I know we have some bad players but every player who is not great is not a bum and some may not be a system or given the opportunity to even STEP on the field to excel!
-
If you don't know then you don't know the game; probably a bandwagon fan who judges players by what others say! Whoever is the flavor of the month to bash you scoop it up!
-
Who knows; he may be an All-Pro on another team! This team doesn't know how to adjust and let players play to their strengths.

Some of guys need to get over this hate because Peretrs held out and look at the bottom line in that he has played at PRO BOWL LEVEL for 4 years straight. He held out, had an OFF year AND STILL MADE THE PRO BOWL; in little old BUFFALO!!! He didn't make it because of fan voting I can tell you that! WHile he gave up a lot of sacks, most of those were coverage sacks. For instance Joey Porter got 3-4 sacks (mostly due to coverage!) against the Bills but aside from those plays he barely touched our QB going against JP! The Bills shouldn't let this guy get away especially with 2 years left on his contract. Get over the over analyzing and pointing out of ever mistep the guy makes and think back to the LT's we've had the past few years; do you really want to take it back there? If it was that easy to find a stud LT, why did it take us so long? Why are they paid so much? With a true stud LT like Peters you have more confidence allowing him to block one-on-one on an island with no help; try that with Chambers or Walker for a WHOLE season and see how fast you will be calling for JP!
-
I'm glad some of you guys aren't GMs! This isn't Madden people! Just because you are hating on Peters because he his doing business trying to get his best market value you shouldn't be eager to jush push him out the door and move our O-line aound - remember the last TWO years are the closet we've came to a simbilance of an offensive line! Remeber the revolving door we've had at LT before Peters? Remember the days of our QB getting blindsided after 2 seconds in the pocket? At least the last 2 seasons our pass blocking has been sufficent and at times superb as our QB's have at least had time to SURVEY THE FIELD! Now that run blocking has been lacking but most of that has been up the middle between the tackles; I say we improve upon the good we have: JP, Butler, and Walker and up grade the other 2 positions and get some road grinders. All this talk of tearing up our O-line is obsurd!

Just how bad is Buffalo nightlife?
bluv replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have never been to Buffalo but some tend to forget what is good for the goose isn't good for the gander! Currently I live in Hampton Roads, VA; I love it here! Those from NYC, ATL, DC and other live cities think it is too slow while those from rural areas think it is jumping! I lived in Newport RI for 4 years; I HATED IT! My co-workers loved it and thought that it was so live; it sounds a lot like Buffalo's night life in a smaller scale: bar-hopping! Yeah bars are fine - if you like to get drunk to rock and roll music! If you live in a town full of similar bars and you love this scene and music then you will love that town and act like how can anyone not love it? But what if you are young single black male who likes hip-hop and R&B clubs; if the area doesn't have much of a selection then you probably won't feel the area. And just because a club plays the music you like doesn't mean you will feel it if the crowd is too young. The best areas to live in are those that are multi-cultural with a selection so that you can easily change venues when you want. To those who think it may be strictly a racial thing no it is more of a cultural issue. Think about it: what if you like rock but moved to a town that was full of nothing but country clubs and you hate country music? What if you moved to a town that had nothing but hood rat and ghetto type spots? Everyone who likes those venues would love those spots and would tell you how great it is while you sit in misery wishing you could escape! -
Definetly both! Most would agree we NEVER saw this coming as Ralph and company never have made such a signing. I wonder how much of this is a PR move to keep a buzz going at Orchard Park and to keep fans interested after another disappointing season as let's be honest: a lot of SO-CALLED lefelong Bills fans vowed to either not get season tickets or go as far as change teams after the Bills retain Dick and company. Could this be the mentality if this is a make or break season for Dick (after we rushed and overpayed for him!) we have to keep interest in the team; bringing in TO definitely fits the BILL!

We have our starting SS, his name: BRYAN SCOTT. We need to find a starting FS; lets hope Donte can cut it at FS!
-
I hope DT Raji falls to us and we either pick up Mack in the 2nd or sign Jason Brown; then we'd be really stout on BOTH sides up the middle! Who knows; if Schoebel gets healthy and Ellis develops then we might have the makings of one mean D-line! If the pass rush is still lacking I say wait until next year's draft or Free agency to get a stud! I just dont want to see the Bills reach for a DE in a so-so draft at the position and pass on a stud at other positions as we aren't one player away from contending.
-
Ditto for Scott as he has been our best safety the past 2 years when given the chance as he has been solid in coverage and very active near the LOS. Some will say that doesn't speak well for the Bills but I think when he is given the chance to start for a full season he will show to be better than most SS in the NFL.

The only way I say coaching lost the game is that they played PASSIVE on that last drive instead of bringing the heat as they used successfully for most of the game to keep Ben in check. Honestly though, if the defender hadn't slipped on Holmes big run (#37 I think) and catch this game might have went into overtime anyway!

Why not review what was called a Kurt Warner fumble?
bluv replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No matter what anyone thinks, the play SHOULD HAVE been reviewed at a BARE MINIMUM BY THE BOOTH! A call like this takes away (even though just a little!) from a Steelers win. Think about it: what if it was overturn; not many would complain either way as it wasn't an OBVIOUS fumble as we ALL have seen more OBVIOUS fumbles called incomplete forward passes (case inpoint Brady and Cutler!) The fact they were at midfield combined with an added FIFETEEN yards added for unsportsmanlike conduct for helmet removal would have gave the Cards a real shot; especially with the WR's they have. Then if the Steelers had defended successfully then all hats off to them! -
Move the Bills and Oilers to 3 & 4 as they had both good QB, WR's and RB. If the Eagles had ONE good WR then they would be number 3 but they don't. Oilers had FOUR GREAT WR's and a great QB and a decent RB (who fumbled every other caryy but hey!) Redskins would be a top 3 team if QB didn't suck so bad; ditto for the Raiders!
-
I KNOW I can tell a lot about you about all of your posts in this chain; go back to my original post and figure it out!
-
Why would you be so cold regarding a players health? This is a final season game and it is not like he is in our division and this is mid-season and we need a break to catch up and even then: the game isn't that serious;what an A-hole you are!
-
Why do we go through this same process YEAR AFTER YEAR! No one, not even the SO CALLED EXPERTS can properly predict the draft or even GAMES for that matter! There are just as many hits as there are misses! For every Peyton Manning there is a Ryan Leaf or a Tom Brady! For every Fitzgerald there is a Rogers or a Andre Reed or Jerry Rice! Lets just hope we get lucky and the guy we pick in the 1st round can produce; just thank god we don't have a top 5 pick that if it goes wrong would set the franchise back for this is the LAST thing this team needs is a setback!
-
Whatever! We are not as far off as you think. Look 3 of the 4 top seeds went down which shows there isn't much seperating the elite from the rest. A few plays or bad coaching decisions here or there and we would be in the playoffs and who knows... who thought the Cards would win TWO playoff games AND go into Carolina AFTER the way they ended the regular season? If we can pick up a passrushing DE, establish an offensive identity, and stay healthy for a change we can compete. I think Edwards will improve in his 3rd year and if he learns to play against 3-4 defenses he might excel. The problem will be sticking with the run and establishing an offensive identity that isn't just run from the I formation and pass from shotgun! Also moving Lee around and keeping him involved wouldn't hurt!
-
The Bills hardly EVER attract the best free agents without spending top dollar as most NFL players outside see Buffalo as NFL Siberia! So unless Ralph spends top dollar, the only way he will attract top name free agents is if they have connections or affections to WNY to give a hometown discount!
-
I went the bar route both in college and when I lived in an apartment; the ticket was a major benefit of being able to afford a house and get DirecTv! While I like watching the game with fellow Bills fans, especially if they are winning, I HATED sitting in smoked fill bars eating expensive and unhealthy foods! Why rush and try to make it to a crowded bar when I can watch in the comfort of my own home PLUS watch other key games as will in HD? Now if the only option I have is to watch at a bar or not watch at all I'd suck it up and come back home after the game smelling like an ash tray! I'd even take that over a streaming internet site and definitely over sound broadcast as I have to SEE the game!

They could bring in Payton Manning to play QB
bluv replied to jwws9999's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we had even AVERAGE CONSISTENT QB play and a competent offensive coaching staff that established a true balanced offensive identity then we'd be at least 10-4; with Manning we'd be 13-1! Even though our D isn't dominant and the pass rush sucks, Manning has taken teams with way worse Defenses far into the playoffs and to the SB! We don't even have to change personell on offense with a capable QB as our skilled players aren't that bad and the O-line pass blocking has been sufficent the past 2 years. Think about it: if Manning had all day to scan defenses as our Qb's have had most of the year, you don't think he could find an open WR at least 80% of the time? Do you think defenses would stack the box against Lynch with Manning scaring them to back up or audibling out and killing them with Lee going deep? -
He is just telling it ike it is!

I've never been to Buffalo but I think I know where most are coming from in that while Buffalo might be a great party town if you fit into the age and ethnic group in a particular area that likes to party but if you don't then you feel out of place. I mean if you are white kid straight out of college you'd love being in a college town like South Bend. But if you are a middle age minority (black, asian, hispanic) in an area that is 90% white then you'd probably feel out of place. I lived in Newport RI for 4 years; everyone in my age group who was white loved it there as they felt it was a party town right on the beach and would bar hop and get drunk stupid! I hated the scene as I'm not a big drinker and the only bars and clubs played techno or rock; both of which I hate! They only had one urban club that was far right as it was nothing but a hole in the wall spot where thugs and chicken heads hung out at! And I know if I were a professional athlete with millions I'd hate living in a town I couldn't enjoy!

Exactly as they didn't seem as predictable as in previous weeks as they actually passed with Trent under center in run formations and actually used playaction and Trent ACTUALLY CARRIED OUT A GOOD FAKE! They also continued to attempt a few run plays out of shotgun as they did on Monday night although it is predictable as they run 90% of the time when lined up in shotgun in a splitback look with Royal lined up with a HB. I like it when they can run a balanced offense in which they find sets to both run and pass as it keeps the D off balance. Lets hope they can continue the trend against good teams and finish the season strong; hopefully as a wildcard!

Oh he will play great next week as it seems every weak link a team has disappears againsts us!
