5 plays is being nitpicking when they overall held Brady in check. And of those 5 plays you point out, 2 of them were just seam plays that are normally completed at least a few times a game against a known weakness in a Cover 2 scheme over the middle when a QB gets time in the pocket.
-
I never said that stated that they played poorly. All I'm saying, to pick on these guys is nitpicking for overall they did a good job holding an elite QB in check. And the guys they replaced wouldn't have done a much better job. Now if Wire makes those mistakes it would be pointed out as he is always under a microscope. But if Vincent made the exact same mistakes it wouldn't be noticed.
-
I see it now; you just want to point to a few plays to prove a point that he never should have been drafted. It's like those KH fans putting JP under a microscope. If the run D does its job, Brady was held in check the whole game and most of his successful throws came against poor LB coverage.
-
So what; one or 2 plays they missed. You can't make every play; it's not like they gave up a game winning TD catch or missed a 4th down tackle and should have made a game winning play. While they can improve, they looked pretty good for their 1st action. They might stink it up the rest of the season but today they played OK.
-
I'll agree with the non factor in run game but Brady only completed 11 passes and at no point got into a passing rhythm; I can see if Brady was picking us apart with efficecny. I mean he throw a pick in the 4th quarter by Whitner that if it wasn't for questionable block and play stoppage, he'd be on ESPN right now and all those guys would be saying what a genius pick by Marv. If our run D was more discipline and stayed in their lanes and our offense didn't become conservative, there is no way we lose this game. I mean for their first action they played very well; you can't expect them to be Pro Bowlers right out the gate.
-
What hurt the run D was that the D Line gave running lanes by rushing upfield and not making any plays and running themselves out of the play.
-
Maybe on a few plays but go back and watch the tape: Willis tip toed and didn't hit the LOS with authority on any plays. Even the ones in which he had holes in the 1st half, he still didn't punish defenders to try and wear the D down. Look at how Dillion ran and you'll see the differences.

The Pats got 2 seam passes: the one to Watson after the stop on 4th and 1 after he blew by Fletcher and split the safeties and the 4th quarter pass in which Simpson was in the deep middle. Other than that they were fine as Vincent and Wire probably wouldn't have faired much better. If the Pats didn't have success running the ball OR we had converted that 4th and 1 and went up 24-7, the running game would have been an afterthought and our guys would have been able to pin their ears back and bust Brady up like they did in the 1st half.
-
I totally agree. Just like when Belechik got the 4th and 2 to end the game, Jauraon went to close the game as well and if not for a questionable spot he might have got it.
-
How is that; the LBs got worked over on a few plays but over all over Run D lost this game. The secondary played a pretty good game as they held Brady in check and got an int. In the 2nd half the pass rush slowed down a bit. I was actually encouraged by their play.

Stop tippy toeing and get back to the line of scrimmage.
-
I like that as well. I think Coy and Troy needed to be cut anyway
-
My point exactly; a lot of those 2 yard lose could have been to a minimal a no gain if he didn't tiptoe to the line so much looking for the big play and just hit the line with effort he could have had more success as most NFL backs don't have gaping holes. Personally I think he runs better in the single back as on plays that he has to follow the FB into the hole, plays in which you have to punch it up in there he dances too much. On stretch plays, his cutback ability would be more utilized.
-
WM tiptoed the whole 2nd half so I wanted to see more of the A Train
-
McGahee tiptoed the whole second half so it doesn't matter...
-
McGahee ran like a B!tch in the 2nd half. I'm not a Willis basher but he tiptoed to much in the 2nd half and left us with too many 2 and 12!

Thanks. I called and being that I was ahigh valued customer I did get NFL Superfan for free this year!

I guess Bills fans in Hampton Roads VA got lucky as based on tvguide.com the game will be broadcast on CBS. That means that I can watch it in high def! I got the NFL ticket; while I LOVE watching the games in high def, $200+ is all they are getting out of me; I'm not forking over another 100 bones to watch all games in high def. But with the game being on FREE local channel, you best believe I will be watching the game in high def on my 100 inch display from my projector! GO BILLS!

I beg to differ. If the Bills were to, oh God turn things around and made the playoffs, Pittsburg scares me more than the Colts or Bengals as you would have to out physical them on both sides of the ball and their D would confuse a young QB such as JP; hell they did a good job of that on Manning last year. That is why teams such as the Colts struggle in the playoffs for once teams catch on to your scheme that at one point seemed unstoppable when they meet up against strong teams that they can't outscheme and have to out muscle on both sides of the ball they can't get it done. With their strong DL who holds ground and allows their LBs to make plays they will still be tough. No Miami was lucky to be in this game as the fumble snap caused the Steelers one TD and the dropped INT allow the Dolphins to score another; that is a 14 point swing. As far as Daunte goes, that first pick was unexcusable as it was ill advised and underthrown. The second pick is one that would scare me if they played JP as it would take a veteran QB with much poise to avoid that pick as they set him up big time to look like a rookie when Porter facked a rush and dropped into coverage. It reminded me of one of those Madden plays!

Ooooh, Miami...I'm sooooo scared!

Overall I think both teams Oline did a decent job of pass protection; besides the few blitzes. Now the Dolphins run game stunk the whole night. But I think the reason why is that they ran at least %80 of the time when not in shotgun and used the shotgun at least %30-%40 of the time, passing everytime; making them predictable. This is just the way the Bills have been the past few years as you could guess their plays by the personnell on the field as they could never find a group proficient in both run and pass so they bring in these packages. I guess Murlakey took that garbage down there with him! -
2 more days of the NFL network for WNY'ers

Besides the regular season games that have just been added this season and the replays of preseason games, you aren't missing much. -
AMEN BROTHER! I mean there are other fans out there besides those of America's team! And if it wasn't for the preseason games and the regular season games that as of this year will be carried by the NFL Network then it would be a complete joke as they show too many redundant shows (how many times do you need to see the making of the Dolphins or Chargers cheerleader squads?) or Total Access which by the way doesn't cover the NFL totally. This was especially worrisome last weekend as instead of having No huddle they instead showed the cheerleader episode they have showed a 100 times already. And when they finally get around to No Huddle, they focus almost exclusively on TO and the 'Girls. If they wanted to focus so much on them then why no air that game live? To those who are about to lose the NFL network, if it wasn't for the regular season games then you woudln't be missing much!
-
This is suppose to be No Huddle, showing clips from games around the league; not an exclusive TO deepthroat footage!

A lot of people are going to be very disappointed

I thought (or hoped) that you had crawled under a rock! You are the type I was referring to when I say there are those who are hoping the Bills, Losman, and Levy all fall on their face so that they can say see I told you so! But it is really a shame when a SO CALLED fan of the team hopes they fail! -

Yeah; especially if Losman BUSTS out this year instead of being the bust many of the experts hope and if our draft picks put this team over the top. I didn't even mention how they expect Jauron and Levy to fail as well as they all are looking and hoping, as well as a percentage on this board to see them fail so they can say see I told you so.
