  1. Amen to that. My cousin is a BIG Gang green fan. He always disses the Bills about losing 4 straight; I tell him that the Jets can barely put two winning seasons back to back! He will then rant on about the 68 Jets; to that I say you weren't even thought off! And Broadway Joe has retired about 15 years ago from making an arthritis commercial and they won't even allow him on the sidelines anymore for he might get drunk and hit on the female reporters!
  2. I'll agree to an extent as with parity all teams have tealent and there isn't as big of a gap in talent as it used to be. Take the Lions; they lost a lot of close games this year and Kitna did throw for 4000 yards. But now that Quinn has played poorly in the big college games he will already have question marks before he throws an NFL pass and will not be given the breaks Matt Leinart was and be as overhyped. Statements such as this prove my point above. That is why I hoped we'd stick with JP and at least give him 2 full season as a starter to fully evaluate his talents. I mean if we draft Quinn and he doesn't come in and set the NFL on fire then all these question marks will start arising by game 5! Then if JP is still on the roster his supporters will come out full force if Quinn struggles any.
  3. Yeah and if he were drafted by the Bills he'd be so much better off surrounded by a great O-line and solid D - NOT! Quin will be worse off no matter where he is picked! That is why I said from day one that JP should be given at least 2 season to develop as a high pick like Quinn will take the same amount of time to develop IF he ever will plus set us back in the draft and salary cap while even if JP doesn't pan out at least we don't lose out even more than the 1st rd we gave up to give him instead of drafting a top QB and paying him as a top 5 QB based on draft slot as he played like the 32 ranked QB for 2,3 years as he develops!
  4. 2 months ago Quinn was in order for the Buffalo Bills according to some. Now JP with the success the 2nd half of the season has won over most; a lot more with his grit and effoert than stats which haven't been too bad when given the opportunity to put the ball up. Now with Quinn's poor performance last night a lot more will now jump off his bandwagon and see that while he went to a big time university, his athletic credentials and potential is no better than what we have with JP. And like most smart fans were saying at the beginning of the season which would you rather have: a strong armed mobile QB who has the tools to get it done but needs experience to show what he can do or draft an over hyped QB who went to a bigger named university and start over again from scratch and give this guy 2,3 years to develop? I think I'd stick with JP; let DeLucia and Holcomb's arm give each other pleasure while they watch Quinn highlights!
  5. OK AS is not Bruce Smith; your point is? It is suppose to be our opponenets who downgrade our good players not TRUE Bills fans. To say that he is not the greatest DE in the league is one thing; to treat him like he is not even a good player is just STUPID! Ask all the Qb's he has sacked or harassesd this year. And one guy listed a bunch of DE's off the top of his head that was better than AS; most of the guys were no-shows for strecthes of the season as well. But I might as well save my breath arguing with such types for it is plain to see that they have it in for such players and nothing short of a Hall of Fame induction will do and even if they do make it they will stay say that they are undeserving!
  6. None. Why? We have a young team, especially on offense that is starting to play well. Why bring in a me type player such as TO who will cry when they don't get the ball? He will break JP down and when the team does struggle he will make it even more frustrating. Plus while I want to see the Bills get some media attention, the negative 24 hour TO coverage is not what I have in mind!
  7. I'll believe it when I see it as no team would be stupid enough to give up a #1 pick for WM. He is a good but not great RB and could easily be replaced. If we get such a deal than vote Marv Levy for GM of the year!
  8. I'd rather have Randy Moss than TO even though I really don't want to see either in a Bills uniform! While Randy might make a few dumb comments and take plays off he has never split up a team the way TO has or dissed his QB as much either. TO will become a malcontent if you don't win and he's not getting his catches. Hell I'd rather have Marcus Robinson; let TO go play with Vick and then watch them become media sparring partners.
  9. Since he wasn't too expensive I wished all along we had kept Sam just to keep in the DL rotation. That would have been an awesome DL rotation! If he begin to freelance or play lazy get his fat @$$ out of there. That would motivate him to play discipline. But Sam has proven that he can get it done and has the ability to dominate the LOS; Anderson, Williams, and Tripplett for that matter can't.
  10. Too bad we have to be forced to listen to Tasker again and his gushing over Young and him going out his way not to say anything positive about the Bills!
  11. I just hate these type of fans who use a loss to just hate on a player they just don't like. I mean if JP runs for the 1st down or Lindell kicks the Fg then you wouldn't have nothing to say about AS. The Bills and their players have hard enough time as it is getting respect outside Western NY; it's bad enough when the fans within bash our only few good players!
  12. You act like WM carried the ball 20 times averaging less than 2 yards a pop. If you rush for 95 yards on 22 carries, numerous catches, no fumbles and your offense puts up 29 points, how can you blame the RB and act like he had a bad game? Some on this board just like to use a loss to bash players that they hate; NO MATTER how they played!
  13. I taped the game and while watching it I got so tired of him hyping up VY that I wanted to puke! He being a homer didn't give JP or the Bills any props whatsoever. I have been annoyed with him before but I hope that this was the last Bills game he ever commentates!
  14. On the play it looked like he wanted to tap his toes but he leaped for the ball too early and by the time he caught it he couldn't get his feet down. If you look close you can see that he had both his feet together.
  15. This hating on WM (and others) after a lost has just got to stop! No, WM is not the best RB in the league but he is still pretty good. Rb is far from being a top need on this team. This would be similiar to picking WM when we already had a good back in TH. While I was one of the 1st to disagree with the drafting of WM, he is a Bill now until his contract runs out and we have to deal with the cards handed to us. Wm is one of the few good players that we do have and instead of worrying about wasting a high draft pick or FA signing to upgrade a good position we need to focus on areas of immediate need like DT. It's amazing how those who ran TH out of town a few years ago now wouldn't ming having him over WM! If we kept TH the same ones would be crying about how slow TH is and when he does fumble harp back to 2003!
  16. My biggest problem with Simpson is that he seems slow at times. I mean LT outran him a few weeks ago and Henry not known for his speed was pulling away from him on his 60 yard run that got called back. Whitner while solid needs to develop into a playmaking, ballhawking safety to justify being picked 8th overall as being solid just won't cut it. He was more off a playmaker and game changer in the first month but kind of faded away. Other than that I will give them credit for at least being solid for while they didn't make many plays they didn't give up many either or get exposed on a game to game basis. But in hindsight I wish we had drafted Ngata and traded up to get Whitner later in the 1st if he was still there. But no one can deny that the 2006 draft overall was a success for the Bills.
  17. To score 29 points in that wind; even though we left points and could have scored 40 plus, there is no way we should have lost that game. The only issue I have with the O is the last play as poor game management left JP out their to dry as the players didn't seem to be on the same page as the coaching staff wasted time trying to decide whether to kick the FG. But in all likliehoods the D and the special teams return team let us down. There is no way the Titans should have scored 30 points without getting turnovers that lead directly to TD's. They haven't showed that ability all season. I mean if the 57 yard run by TH wasn't called back he'd have close to 200 yards rushing by himself! I thnk we definitely need to find a tough nose run stuffing DT to throw into our normal DL rotation. If we can somehow resign Fletcher & Nate and hope Youbouty can develop into a solid starter we could be in line for a big turnaround next year IF we get the run stopper we need to keep blockers off the LBs and kep teams in 3rd and long to allow our passrushers to tee off! I'm still proud of the team however for we have much to look forward to next year. The offense yesterday was the one I was hoping to see since midseason for it seems like they have finally found an offensive IDENTITY. I know some have heard me use this term all year but with the improved play of the O-line and Shelton being hurt yesterday and utilized less the past few games the spread single back offense has become as I thought it should have been all along the staple of our offense. If we can find a better target opposite Lee in the off-season I think we have all the pieces in play to start off 2007 running as the O-line has improved dramatically and the other skilled positions are good enoguh to win with as they have finally started to involve the TEs. I think JP is the PERFECT QB for Buffalo as he has shown that he can throw the ball in the wind. All those who clamour for Leinart or hoped we'd get Quinn; I'd love to see how they fair throwing the ball in tough conditions! He has gotten much better at feeling pressure and stepping up in the pocket and I can't wait to see how this team will look next year. GO BUFFALO!
  18. Hello people: the main reason why he struggled today is that he was on the injury report ALL WEEK with a bad ankle. All those who say that he has lost all his lateral movement hasn't been watching him play the past 3 weeks. Remember how he ran and force LT out of bounds? WHile he still needs a whole offseason to be the TKO we knew in 2004, the TKO you saw yesterday wasn't even the best TKO you saw in 2006!
  19. Every GOOD MLB needs the big guys up front to play GREAT. Ray Lewis play fell off until they put a big run stuffing DT in front of him. Urlacher play fell off big time when Big Ted and Traylor left in the same season. While these good MLB can still make game changing plays, they can not make many tackles for no gain if they aren't allowed to run free. We need that type of DT but he isn't available in this draft. I'm sure there will be better players available when we are up to bat in the draft.
  20. Let me first say that I'm a Bills fan but have never set foot in Buffalo. WIth that being said , you can't just compare household incomes; how much does housing/rent and taxes cost in Green Bay compared to Buffalo? Without comparing that it is useless stats. Like I tell my former co-worker it's a big difference if you choose to take a job paying $100K in an area where the average house cost $440K as compared to where the same job salary is $70K and the average house cost $250K. You might think $30K more is a big difference but it's not when you consider %40 of that will go to taxes while you will definitely have $1000-1500 month mortgage difference. It's not how much you make but how much you are worth and I'm pretty sure those in Green Bay in the Midwest where evrything is cheap are living much better than anybody in the state of NY where taxes alone can break you!
  21. So what; Gandy has shutdown Taylor the past 2,3 games as well as until Sunday when JP held the ball too long he hadn't sacked JP and really hasn't been much of a factor the past few times we have played them.
  22. I'll agree with you about Pennington and drafting a run stopping DT (or big WR)Why not keep chemistry and leave Gandy where he is and if we do bring in Steinbach start him at RG? The left side is solid and if we re-sign Gandy he and Peters should man the left side and should be left alone!
  23. Yeah but he hasn't admitted it or said it out loud, YET! More of that talk will start to come out the next few years if JP continues to play well for I remember before that draft a lot of draft experts mentioned similar comments about JP with the only knock being that he was cocky, supposedly. When we drafted JP I thought we had a steal because he had the potential to be better than those drafted before him as he was the fastest and had the strongest arm based on the so-call experts who said that behind closed doors. Once he flourishes more GM's and experts will start to admit this or come out and act like they knew he would be great all along; you know how those who claim they knew Drew Brees would be better than Culpepper before the season!
  24. No he doesn't get enough credit. Vince Young hasn't came close to putting up the numbers JP has but he gets all the credit where as it has taken JP 5 good games to even get noticed. QBs and coaches both get too much credit or blame. In our case though with only one real threat at WR and no real passing threat at TE or RB I think both deserve a lot of credit.
  25. I saw that as well.Too bad the rest of the NFL world doesn't care about the Bills or Qb's who didn't play at major colleges! But we will turn some heads next year no doubt!
