  1. Hard to draw any conclusions from preseason. Looks like we’ve improved the pass rush. Our non-Josh run game looks like it’s been emphasized. Jury still out on improvement. I think we can be stouter against the run when we want to be with return of Star and some bigger DE’s. Tight End still seems like a weakness.
  2. NFL players gotta chase the money. Their careers are so short. Shaq would be a nice $4-5m per year vet option once Addison and Hughes are gone.
  3. He tried to get Gronk. The rest of the elite TE’s in NFL weren’t highly drafted or big money free agents. Seems like a position where you gotta either be patient or lucky.
  4. We’re getting dangerously close to it being time to cut our rapping smurf. Love his play on the field but Bills can’t have a guy on team leading the anti-vax crusade. It’s clearly giving cover for other Bills to not get the vaccine and is now a huge competitive disadvantage.
  5. I don’t think it’s a safe bet anymore that all 16 make the Final 53. Bills can’t go into season with that much uncertainty. This week had to be wake up call for Beane. For example, you can’t have both your 1 Techs unvaccinated. You gotta take the vaccinated player over the unvaccinated where you run the risk of both guys on top of depth chart risk being unavailable. Sucks that this is a huge story for Bills.
  6. I’m kind of shocked the owners aren’t pushing harder for mandatory vaccinations. A lot of employers around the country are heading in that direction if they haven’t already done so and 99.99% of them don’t pay their employees anywhere near what NFL owners pay their employees. And that doesn’t even take into account the much higher risk of unvaccinated players not being available to play. Crazy that owners aren’t making this a bigger issue.
  7. If they’re only keeping 4 DT’s, no way 2 of those can be Star and Butler as proven by what just happened.
  8. Head scratching that teams still draft RB’s in 1st round. Even if you hit on the pick, there’s still bad value based on RB’s being lowest paid position in the League and easiest to replace. Exception would be a guy like McCaffrey who’s as much a WR as RB.
  9. If he’s ready to go for week 1, no way he gets cut especially given the Bills other 2 options at 1 Tech are unvaccinated.
  10. Unless he was getting paid 7 figures at Clemson, his decision to return for his senior year was a head-scratcher. A RB only has so many hits in him. NFL clearly hasn’t adopted analytics as fast as NBA and MLB have in the draft. A senior RB with that many carries and a large drop-off in YPC probably shouldn’t be drafted before late 2nd round no matter how much you like him.
  11. It’s doubly bad because one of the only rationales for taking a 1st round RB is that they are ready to play Day 1.
  12. I can’t see how Eagles go into season with Hurts and Flacco as their QB’s. 9 wins might win that division. Hurts is a giant question mark and was never drafted to be the answer at QB. Flacco is your man if you’re trying to tank. They still have a decent roster and are in a terrible division. If I were them, I’d inquire about Trubisky.
  13. One thing I will say about the Patriots is that their RB’s all run extremely hard. They did last year too. Taylor is a goner after that fumble though. Belichik has zero tolerance for fumbles.
  14. Eagles look like trash, but Patriots look to be in mid-season form. I don’t think they’ll win more than 8-9 games, but Belichik has these guys dialed in. He clearly doesn’t want to miss the playoffs again.
  15. Eagles could be early favorites for #1 overall pick next year. Hurts is not good and Flacco was washed up a couple years ago. If the NFC East didn’t suck so bad, people would be talking a lot more about how bad Eagles are gonna be.
  16. In defense of Hart, the End he was going against just kept speed rushing wide on the edge. He got no help and one called run inside the gap that End was leaving wide open would’ve put a stop to it. And Fromm even though he deserves credit for some good throws was very statuesque back there. When the End didn’t rush extremely wide Hart generally stuffed him.
  17. That deep catch by Stevenson is how you catch the coach’s eye. Huge play that won the game. And kudos to Fromm for making the throw. He didn’t have much of a chance on most of his drop backs because of how bad the pass blocking was. The 4th quarter defense was pretty bad. Terrible tackling, bad coverage and penalties.
  18. Philly sports radio has been raving about Tyree Jackson. They all seem to think he deserves a spot on the 53 man roster.
  19. These are the fluff articles written about guys right before they get cut or traded.
  20. Yeah. Mission already accomplished by Pegula and NFL. The leaked 100% publicly financed ask already has lawmakers on their heels and admitting a portion will be publicly financed.
  21. I agree with almost all of this, but I think a Niagara Falls NY stadium is the only option that won’t be a complete money pit. Niagara Falls is by far the best thing WNY has going for it. It was once a must see destination and could be again with the right investments. Downtown Buffalo doesn’t have the corporate/business base and nobody vacations in Buffalo. There is even less reason to build something new in Orchard Park.
  22. I disagree. There’s no LA out there anymore. An Austin or St. Louis move isn’t a jackpot for Pegula. Increases value of Bills by $1B at most. Then subtract from that all the investments Pegula has made in WNY which will basically become worthless. Then factor in that he and his family will become the most hated people ever in WNY and among Bills fans all over the country.
