i’d argue no. Unless your offense is weak, give me the ball on the 25. It’s not worth it to start inside your 15 yard line ten times (factoring in penalties and poor returns) for the 2 times MCKenzie gets it to the 50.

Wouldn’t it be counter-intuitive for McDermott to want Bass to kick it high and short of end zone but want his returner not to take a touchback?

On a side note, has a team ever brought in a different Center on short yardage plays? it’s clear that Morse is a good Center but lacking in that department. The inability to get 3rd and 4th and less than a yard is gonna kill us down the stretch and has already cost us a game.

dawkins personally blew up 2 of our first 3 drives with a sack given up and a holding call when he was badly beaten. we aren’t gonna beat good teams with that type of play from our left tackle

Certainly validates what most posters are saying. Defenses don’t even have to think about defending the run against Bills. And our defense isn’t built to stop the run.

When it comes to Ford and the Offensive Linemen on this team, it’s hard to write them off as busts until they get a chance in different offensive scheme. See Wyatt Teller. And for those clamoring for Taylor, do you really think he would’ve been used properly here? Heck he probably would’ve been plastered to the bench the way he started his rookie year with Colts.

You don’t become a professional football player and make a 53 man roster if you have motivation issues. Players not believing they’re being put in a situation to succeed mixed in with Covid/vax issues the more likely culprit.
