completely agree on the field goal right before the half. In a non-end of half situation, you get the benefit of the other team having horrible field position if they stop you and probably getting the ball back yourself in great field position. I wonder if the analytics go that deep in regards to going for it on 4th down near the goal line when the other team can just down the ball and go into the half if they stop you.

Belichik must watch games like last night and just laugh. All the sloppiness in short yardage and red zone situations because these teams can’t line up and run the ball.

He seems like a guy the players respect and his defense is effective but he’s probably better suited for a rebuild as a Head Coach or DC at this point. Bring some stability to a flailing franchise.

Looks like CB leaves the WR when Josh turns his head to throw the dump off. Kind of similar to the 4th and 14 play against Patriots except the WR probably still had a step on the Bucs CB.

If Dawkins can get it together next year, improving the interior O-line, getting an in-line Tight End, and a power RB should not break the bank and those positions are not usually taken in the top half of the 1st round. Improving the run game and short passing game is very do-able in an off-season. Which is why our current predicament is so frustrating. In defense of McBeane though, there’s really nothing you can do to compensate for bad Left Tackle play. Doubt McBeane foresaw Dawkins gaining 30 pounds in the off-season then contracting Covid.
