  1. 3 years, $30m, $20mgtd. Add extra years to pump up the headline numbers for his wife
  2. You do have a point. We’re all happy that Bates is back, but for an RFA who’s trying to get the best contract it’s definitely a deterrent to other teams getting involved if the matching team can restructure the contract immediately.
  3. Landry, Richie, Tannehill… anybody else? Yikes. Didn’t mean to trigger you.
  4. Bates said he wanted to stay in buffalo. Doubt he was gonna sign a contract that Buffalo couldn’t match because of how it was structured.
  5. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/04/08/dan-campbell-dolphins-had-a-player-who-practiced-every-day-reeking-of-alcohol/ Gotta be Richie. Discuss.
  6. Gotta love social media, but he deserves to be taken care of by the Bills. He’s still playing really well and it’s only normal that a 31 year old on the last year of his deal wants a new one.
  7. Agreed, but it’s probably gonna take a lot less to make Poyer happy than Edmunds. Poyer deserves to be taken care of. Give him $3-4m in new money this year, guarantee his 2022 base salary and half his 2023 base. Let Rosenhaus report that it’s a 4 year $40m contract. Everybody’s happy.
  8. Definitely not a good look to have your wife spouting off about the contract you signed, but it’s an understandable position for Poyer to take. Given his age, his market value in 2023 will be significantly lower than it would’ve been if he were a free agent this year. Beane didn’t put a gun to his head 2 years ago when Poyer signed the extension. I’m sure Beane doesn’t wanna make a habit of giving every vet a new deal when he’s unhappy with the contract he signed, but Poyer is a core guy and leader. I think Beane makes an exception here and makes sure one of his heart and soul guys is happy. Gives him another 2 year extension.
  9. from poyers perspective, this is probably the last year for him to get a decent multi-year deal. He’s coming off his best year but is 31. Unfortunately for him, NFL doesn’t pay for past performance. In 2023, a 32 year old safety ain’t gonna be in demand. I don’t blame him for wanting a new deal now, but that could very well mean that Bills gotta part ways.
  10. interesting timing. one things for sure, we can’t keep paying our back 7 on defense this kind of money. If the choice is paying Edmunds or Poyer, I fear McBeane picks Edmunds because he’s younger and faster.
  11. Edmunds and pick 25 for Bradberry and pick 19 (after New Orleans trades up to pick 5 for a QB). Then we take Dean or Lloyd at pick 19.
  12. Probably really a 3 year deal like miller’s, but $70m guaranteed over first 3 years. Ain’t paying a 32-33 year old WR $25m per year. Looks like McBeane is thinking 3 year Super Bowl window with the current group.
  13. Yes. Really hard to come to a conclusion when you don’t include the statistics for the population of players who didn’t suffer ACL injuries.
  14. Problem is a lot of these enforcer types get abused in the passing game and they also can’t play that way for very long if they want any longevity. One guy I loved when he was on the Bucs was Jordan Whitehead. Dude was a heat seaking missile that brought a physicality to that defense. But do these guys continue to play that way into their 2nd contract? Milano and Poyer have played that way in spurts but seems like they all end up making business decisions now and then.
  15. Where’s Will Smith when you need him. ‘Keep Bills player’s names out your ****’n mouth’
  16. Bradberry probably better option but McBeane gotta be involved with Gimore too just to make sure you get 1 of the vet CB’s out there
  17. He only played 8 games last year. In terms of a contract, he’s certainly a prime candidate for some NLTBE ( not likely to be earned) incentives that won’t effect the 2022 cap. Hard to believe MCBeane is gonna roll with Dane Jackson and a rookie at CB when they are clearly in all-in mode.
  18. Might as well tell him his wife is sleeping with the neighbor while you’re at it.
  19. Things probably a little too sensitive in Browns land to be making April Fool’s jokes.
  20. You’re probably right but Chiefs traded pick 27 plus a 3rd rounder and their 1st following year to move up to 10 for Mahomes. I’d think the price would be a little lighter for a QB-weak draft.
  21. Giants clearly want to come out of this draft with an extra 1st next year. Nobody seems in love with the QB’s in this draft so it’s probably not happening that way for Giants. Maybe Bills trade pick 25, next years 1st and Poyer for pick 7. Bills take Hamilton and have their QB of the defense for next 10 years.
  22. It’s ok to be happy Bills are getting a new stadium and also not be happy about public money funding the majority of it. The Bills organization and players do a lot of great things for the community aside from entertaining us on Sundays so it makes this sh$t sandwich a little bit easier to swallow.
  23. Article says Pegulas have to match the $200m from the NFL so it’s at least $400m in non-taxpayer funds.
  24. I’m sure the cleveland doctors can still find a reason to fail him on his physical
