  1. Can anybody more knowledgeable than me care to explain why he has dominant games like Detroit then you don’t hear his name for another 2 months. Is it his motor? Scheme? Can’t beat decent or certain types of O-Linemen?
  2. https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/analysis-the-buffalo-bills-have-an-ed-oliver-problem-with-no-easy-solutions/article_9adf0716-a4b6-11ed-9067-bbf527263e1a.html Lots of points this thread has already touched on.
  3. It’s not an over-reaction after the last 3 playoff losses to think this coaching staff can’t get it done. KC made our defense look as bad in 2020 as cincy did this year. Then KC went on to the Super Bowl and Tampa’s D destroyed them. Cincy’s Offense looked very average against the Ravens before us and KC after us and made us look like clowns. And 13 seconds speaks for itself. I’m sorry, it’s not an over-reaction to have no belief in this coaching staff to be Super Bowl caliber especially on the defensive side.
  4. I’m fine with keeping Edmunds if it’s $15m per year or under. He’s a good, not great player and will give you at least 5 more good years. The problem is the D Line. You can’t count on Miller being that guy anymore. They really need a difference maker on the D Line. Cut Settle, trade Oliver for anything you can get, and go sign Daron Payne. We desperately need a guy that can draw double teams and free up other guys. Then on offense, trade up for the best OT prospect still available in the top 15 picks. Sign a hammer at RB for under $5m per year. And go get a vet WR that has a year or 2 left that is chasing a ring.
  5. I actually think Rivera is his best comp. When Newton was a top 5 QB, Carolina was in the playoffs every year and even made a Super Bowl. McDermott has a top 5 QB.
  6. Guys who’ve won Super Bowls are absolutely higher than McDermott. That’s 8 guys including Sean Payton. I think I’d put guys like Taylor and Sirianni higher than mcdermott because they’ve made a Super Bowl. definitely shanahan too. That puts mcdermott around 12th.
  7. If we’re gonna spend $20m per year on anybody this off-season, it better be for a guy like Daron Payne. I think we get too focused on perceived holes in the roster and not enough on true difference makers regardless of position. Paying Oliver $10m next year is borderline criminal. You gotta make tough decisions like these to take the next step. Hoping that Miller and his 34 year old repaired knee puts us over the top ain’t a sound strategy.
  8. If that’s the contract we could sign him for, I’d take Edmunds. You’re not getting a significant upgrade in free agency at RT for $11m per year. OL and WR’s get stupid money in free agency.
  9. I can’t imagine anybody paying Edmunds $20m per year. He’s a good player but nowhere near the level of the premier non-rush LB’s like Roquan and Fred Warner. Would have to be a team with crazy cap space. Chicago would’ve paid Smith. Maybe Houston? Pittsburgh? I really can’t think of anybody else who’d pay $20m per year for Edmunds.
  10. Interesting take on an Oliver extension. Even if we’d be buying low, I think i’d rather see him take the next step in a contract year. I’d rather have to pay more next year and reward him after taking a leap than pay him after a mediocre year.
  11. Hodgins was a great pick in the 6th round. That’s an A grade. Same with Teller in the 5th round in a previous draft. It’s not the GM’s fault the coaching staff doesn’t know how to use the talent given to them.
  12. The Eagles O-Line and D -Line are scary good. They would destroy us unless Josh played out of his mind. I think the Eagles are much better than KC but if KC can keep it close, you can never count out Mahomes. Cincy with a healthy O-Line would’ve given Eagles the best game.
  13. That would require a more physical, attacking style defense. Playoffs are big boy football. We’ve gotten pushed around 4 straight years to end our season.
  14. Well Beane, KC didn’t need to suck to draft Chris Jones in the 2nd round. Find some difference makers.
  15. Cincy looks like more physical team. Philly will destroy KC. Cincy/Philly would be good game.
  16. The more physical team almost always wins in the playoffs. Can’t see us winning a super bowl with a guy like epenesa getting snaps, a 195lb nickel CB, and a pair of lightweight RB’s.
  17. Can we really put another undersized LB on field (Milano is awesome but he can be run at) when our Nickel CB isn’t even 200lbs?
  18. Parsons, AJ Brown, Deebo, Kelce, Josh. Power, speed, agility. Edmunds would actually fit the physical profile too if he wasn’t so damn robotic.
  19. I think the fact that we’re light in the ass at a lot of positions on D hurts come playoffs. Johnson gotta be one of the smaller Nickles. Our safeties ain’t big. Milano is smallish. Oliver is short and small. Epenesa is smaller every year.
  20. Most successful teams have a type of guy they draft. 49ers draft big physical DL and OL. Ravens the same. And it works more often than not for them. Groot, Basham, Epenesa, Oliver… not really clear what exactly we’re looking for there. None of them would be considered overly physical or speed rushers. Oliver undersized, Epenesa was asked to lose weight, Basham and Groot aren’t speed rushers but also not overly physical. Same on the O-Line. Just doesn’t seem like the Bills even know what they’re looking for.
  21. In regards to Singletary, there’s so many free agent RB’s available that will be the same price or cheaper that would bring a much more physical presence to the running game and are also faster. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/running-back/all/
  22. This. The scars from 13 seconds and that ass beating on Sunday aren’t going away. Your All Pro WR is almost certainly not the only guy on the team who is questioning things.
  23. This. I like Singletary, but he’s too small and slow. Get a hammer back there. Damien Harris won’t be that expensive. That’s the type of guy we need. We need to get a more physical run game. Hynes is good in the return game but his number is too big for just that.
