  1. I think the fact that we’re light in the ass at a lot of positions on D hurts come playoffs. Johnson gotta be one of the smaller Nickles. Our safeties ain’t big. Milano is smallish. Oliver is short and small. Epenesa is smaller every year.
  2. Most successful teams have a type of guy they draft. 49ers draft big physical DL and OL. Ravens the same. And it works more often than not for them. Groot, Basham, Epenesa, Oliver… not really clear what exactly we’re looking for there. None of them would be considered overly physical or speed rushers. Oliver undersized, Epenesa was asked to lose weight, Basham and Groot aren’t speed rushers but also not overly physical. Same on the O-Line. Just doesn’t seem like the Bills even know what they’re looking for.
  3. In regards to Singletary, there’s so many free agent RB’s available that will be the same price or cheaper that would bring a much more physical presence to the running game and are also faster. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/running-back/all/
  4. This. The scars from 13 seconds and that ass beating on Sunday aren’t going away. Your All Pro WR is almost certainly not the only guy on the team who is questioning things.
  5. This. I like Singletary, but he’s too small and slow. Get a hammer back there. Damien Harris won’t be that expensive. That’s the type of guy we need. We need to get a more physical run game. Hynes is good in the return game but his number is too big for just that.
  6. Burrow beatdown.
  7. Cincy was basically laughing at our defense. Calling timeouts on your own 20 after a 4 yard play with 30 seconds left in the half when you’re up 10… Ultimate disrespect. Not deferring in the Hamlin game. 13 seconds the year before. Running it back on the defensive side means putting all your marbles on a 34 year old returning from an ACL injury.
  8. Content with good. About sums up things. Considering how bad this organization was the previous 20 years, it’s understandable. Maybe we’ll get lucky and the Chiefs, Bengals, 49ers, and Eagles get knocked off or have injury problems next year, but we ain’t beating any of those teams in the playoffs next year if we’re running it back. They have better rosters and better coaching.
  9. I’d argue that’s not best way to measure since most guy’s productive NFL careers are 4-5 years max and it’s really hard to overcome a bad 3-4 year start.
  10. Has to be something going on with player development, scheme. Can’t be this many whiffs on the D Line without something going on with how they’re being coached/ developed.
  11. Firing this poor guy after that debacle is your answer McDermott?
  12. That’s from December 29th, doesn’t include the Cincy torching before game was cancelled. The Dolphins and Bengals gameplan was to target him. There was no playing with fire. He was bad.
  13. Seemed like the opponents best gameplan was to target Tre. Certainly was for the Bengals. If the Hamlin situation never happened, this would be a much bigger topic of conversation. He was never a speed guy, has lost a step or 2, and mentally doesn’t seem to be handling that well. This is a huge problem.
  14. Yep. Throw in 13 seconds and how bad the defense looked on Sunday, there’s no way Frazier is getting a head coaching job unless the Texans are looking for another guy to fire after a year.
  15. Agreed. I’d be surprised if we got anything more than a 6th or 7th rounder. $11m is a lot for a non difference maker DT.
  16. The excuses Beane made for Rousseau, Philips, and Spencer Brown were half-hearted and particularly weak. Rousseau’s high ankle sprain was 3 months ago. Phillips played good in the preseason?… did you expect a guy that out of shape and already paid to hold up? And Brown…why did you take him in the 3rd round if he was that far from being ready? At least he didn’t even try to make excuses for Epenesa and Basham.
  17. I’m slowly coming around to bringing back Edmunds if it’s $15m per year or under. He’s a good young player. If we’re that strapped for cap room, package one of our 5th rounders to someone to take Oliver’s $11m off our books if you can’t get anything for him. Oliver is way more easily replaced by a vet minimum guy than Edmunds.
  18. This is the first time it feels like Beane and McDermott aren’t on the same page anymore.
  19. I don’t really care. After some time to digest what happened on Sunday, I think the right plan is to focus on the offense. As bad as the defense was, we win if we put up 30 points. The offense was too disjointed a large part of the season and relied on Josh being super-human to score points.
  20. Very important point about Chase not complaining. If we go to a more power run/short passing game, is Diggs gonna be alright with his numbers dropping?
  21. I mean that’s a lot to ask. Elway needed Shanahan to show him the way. Elway is my favorite comp to Allen because there’s nothing on a football field those 2 couldn’t do. They could beat most teams just winging it, but need more structure to take the next step. Cincy was scheming up blitzes on almost every play. Could they have done that if we were pushing them around with a power run game? The Ravens were pounding it down their throats so much that they had to take Hendrickson off the field.
  22. I think most of those misses are because the short pass is his 4th or 5th option and by then the pass rush is on him. How often does he miss when the ball is out of his hands quickly? The bigger question is whether there’s anybody on the current Bills coaching staff Josh respects enough to listen to because right now Josh is a wild stallion relying only on his immense talent. Somebody’s gotta reign him in and teach him how to play championship football.
  23. This scheme/philosophy does the O-Line no favors. Could you imagine Josh playing for Shanahan? It wouldn’t even be fair. Get this man a power running game and stop asking him to be super-man on every damn play.
  24. Leader of the year, yes. Coach of the year, no. Not after that debacle on Sunday. Can’t come out that unprepared for a home playoff game with everything on the line.
  25. Mcdermott is a great leader but just got embarrassingly out-coached by Zach Taylor. I’d go Sirianni 1, Shanahan 2, Daboll 3. Not sure Jacksonville even makes the playoffs if they weren’t in a trash division.
