  1. This guy did a great job breaking everything down. Would love for somebody to do the same for the defense. I assume it would be even uglier. This is the type of loss that makes you question almost everything.
  2. Find a running game and underneath passing game on offense. Get more physical/aggressive on defense.
  3. Lashing out that Bengals had to suck to draft Burrow and Chase is not a good look. Get more aggressive with your draft picks then. You did it for Josh. You went after Diggs. Sitting back and drafting JAG’s ain’t gonna get you over the top.
  4. I think Edmunds is gone. You don’t talk about how nice a guy is who you’re gonna give $20m a year to. Beane sounded disappointed in Oliver. He defended Dorsey pretty strongly. Barely talked about Frazier. Hines ain’t getting cut which means Singletary is probably gone. Defensive about Spencer Brown in a similar way he was about Dorsey.
  5. Seriously. Hyde is good but if his injury is why we fell apart on Sunday, we need to build a stronger team.
  6. As long as there’s been idiots, there’s been people trying to take advantage of them. Story old as time. Internet/Social media just made it easier.
  7. We need Tre to return to form. I’d expect Miller to be effective next year. Tre needs to run with 4.3 speed guys. Miller has to beat 300 lb guys. Different timetable on effectiveness. Hyde returns. Milano is an All Pro. Elam looked good at end of season. Poyer at $7-8m per year or Edmunds at $13-14m. One or the other at that price. Bring back Shaq and let Phillips walk. All the other money and high draft picks need to be spent on O-Line and weapons for Josh.
  8. This team is already dripping with JAGs. Adding more in free agency doesn’t move the needle at all.
  9. Exactly. It’s almost negligent if you don’t push current money into future years. If I know my income is guaranteed to go up 6-7% every year (the TV contracts are locked in for the next 10 years) and I’m allowed to push some of my bills into the future interest free, I’d be a fool not to.
  10. Not saying we won’t, but you can’t pay a guy $20m per year that doesn’t sack QB’s or create turnovers. Edmunds is the embodiment of The Frazier/Mcdermott defense. He’s a good player but the guys you pay big money to gotta be game changers.
  11. I don’t hate the idea, but it’s gotta come with improvements on the O-line. I’d much rather sign Barkley than Edmunds.
  12. Tre was targeted again all game. I don’t remember Burrow throwing at Elam at all.
  13. I think part of it is drafting players for a stale non-aggressive defensive system, part lack of opportunity due to a quality roster, and part just missing on guys.
  14. The defensive timeouts especially 2nd half ones are idiotic. I don’t see any other NFL team that does this. McDermott doesn’t seem like a guy who keeps his cool in big moments and that is a problem for an NFL head coach.
  15. Beware. We got a lot of former pee wee football players and Edmunds family members on this forum that will explain Edmunds was doing his job getting pancaked there
  16. Poyer- re-sign… he’s a core team leader, still a good player, and nobody’s gonna break the bank for him White - I seriously consider moving on if he’s not significantly better by training camp. Everybody’s gameplan seemed to be attacking him. That’s a major concern. Edmunds - since there’s no circumstance where I’d give him a penny more than Milano, I’m sure he’ll get more money somewhere else. Lawson- re-sign… he was one of our better Ends and he’ll be cheap Phillips - guy is washed up. no thanks Oliver - following in the footsteps of Edmunds. Under no circumstance do you sign him to a long term deal unless he miraculously has a break out year Hyde, Poyer, Elam, Jackson, Benford, White (maybe), Taron, Milano, Bernard or under $5m Edmunds replacement, Groot, Miller, Lawson, Epenesa and Basham(because those 2 are still cheap), Settle, Jones, Oliver and vet Min or late round rookie at DT. That defense should be as good as this year and then I’m using my high draft picks and free agency dollars on offense
  17. Beane stays, but it’s clear you need an offensive minded head coach to advance in the playoffs. Daboll was a huge loss. Hire the best offensive minded guy available as head coach. Don’t really care about DC. Just somebody that ain’t gonna choke in 13 seconds and plays a more aggressive brand of defense.
  18. Yep. So according to spotrac, we were top 5 in cap spending on the D whether it was active or full roster. On Offense, we were between 16th and 21st in cap spending on Offense depending on active vs full roster. And that’s not even weighting for all the high draft picks on the defensive side of ball still on their rookie deals. Insane to throw all your resources on the defensive side of the ball especially for a bend but don’t break defense.
  19. Yes, there were injuries, but name me a defense that has this many vets and this much money and high draft picks invested in it. Our entire starting back 7 made north of 8M per year outside of our 1st round pick at CB this year. And our D Line had 2 first round picks, 2 round picks, Von Miller, Jones at $8m per year, Settle at $5m per year, and Phillips and Lawson. Frazier/Mcdermott have been given everything they want on D and when the chips are on the line, the D gets their asses handed to them. Let’s change philosophy and start spending more money and draft resources on the offensive side.
  20. First question I’m asking if I’m Beane is why were the Bengals so damn confident against our D even with a patchwork O-Line? Is Tre White that bad now that teams just know throwing his way us an easy completion or penalty?
  21. Like it or not, McDermott ain’t going anywhere. I think the best we can hope for is McBeane realizes you gotta bring in a fresh voice at D coordinator who can do more with less and allocate more cap resources to the offense.
  22. Then that would be the only positive from this ass beating. This roster ain’t good enough to afford a luxury like Edmunds.
  23. No way anybodys hiring Frazier after todays dumpster fire unless Houston is looking for somebody to fire again after a year. Everybody wants Head Coaches from the Offensive side of the ball anyway, not a lifeless un-exciting D-Coordinator who plays bend and get man-handled defense. If Dak is the white Kirk Cousins, Frazier is the black Dick Jauron.
