Amen. The Chiefs marched down the field at will. Even forcing the chiefs into a 3rd down seemed like a win for this sorry unit. It’s beyond time to scrap mcdermott’s defensive scheme. That’s the only constant in all these losses. The offense has evolved and made changes. The defense is the same undersized, conservative, soft scheme.

Mcdermott’s scheme is trash when it counts. Chiefs marched down the field at will. Just like last year and against the Bengals and 13 seconds and in the AfC championship game in 2021. We were lucky to even get them to 3rd down. Josh and the offense had to convert twice as many 3rd and 4th downs as the Chiefs did. It’s the same story with this conservative undersized soft defense. Face a good team in the playoffs and they provide zero resistance.

Agreed. Our D is trash in the big games. We were barely even able to force the chiefs into 3rd downs. Bills had to convert twice as many 3rd and 4th downs as the Chiefs. Borderline miracle we had a chance to win the way the Chiefs marched down the field at will and how hard the Chiefs defense made it on us.

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
BuffaloRebound replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
That wasn’t an easy catch. He was the only player who adjusted to the ball including the chiefs defenders. He looks like he’s been playing on a bum knee. That said, he’s good enough to make that catch. -
Hire Spagnola as head coach. We are never beating KC in playoffs with reid, mahomes, and spagnola

Lets talk complementary football and the 2nd half
BuffaloRebound replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Kincaid drop on 3rd down on the first series of 2nd half was huge. Gotta catch that. The Knox tight end screen on the 2nd drive of the half was a terrible play call. Let josh do Josh things there on 3rd down. Getting tbe ball out of his hands immediately was a gift to the Ravens D. Brady definitely got too conservative in the 2nd half but won the game. In KC, I’d like to see us go for the kill more. -
That FG Decision by McDermott
BuffaloRebound replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the terrible spot on josh’s 2nd down run threw off the playcalling on the 3rd down playcall, but Brady was terrible in the 2nd half. Way too conservative the 1st 2 drives of 2nd half. -

This. A terrible spot. Josh landed on the ball at the 1. CBS didn’t even show a replay. I rewound my tv feed. No idea how the spotter in the sky didn’t move the ball up. If we lost that game, that’s ’no goal’ level bad. The difference between the 1 and 2 yard line is huge. -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
BuffaloRebound replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Might use Von more in an extra Linebacker role today to spy lamar and help against the run. Same with Rousseau. I’m going big upfront with Smoot, Jones, Phillips. and maybe even Oliver at End. Rousseau and Von as extra Lineman/LB. We cannot have Bernard, Milano, Taron, hamlin, Rapp consistently taking on Ricard and Henry. -
I’m putting Dorian in for Hamlin. Make Lamar beat you over the top.

Chargers at Houston playoff game thread
BuffaloRebound replied to scuba guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chargers run a 2015 offense. This ain’t the same NFL when harbaugh was with the 49ers. -
With our offense, it only takes a couple stops from the defense. I’m hoping McDermott has learned his lesson that against the good teams/QB’s it’s better to take chances and give up some big plays than let them methodically march down the field and make you die a slow death and while keeping our offense off the field.

Guys I wouldn’t risk injuring: Josh, all 3 RB’s, both tight ends, Cooper, Shakir, all 5 starting OL, Von, Groot, Oliver, Epenesa, Daquan, Milano, Bernard, Taron, both starting CB’s, Rapp, and maybe Lewis and Ingram. That leaves Trubisky, Gilliam, practice squad RB, Anderson, Van Pran, Vandemark, 2 practice squad OL, Hollins, Coleman, Shavers, Virgil, Morris, Davidson. Then Smoot, Carter, Jefferson, Solomon, 2 practice squad DL, buffalo joe, Dorian, Morrow, Ulofishio, Elam, Codrington, Ingram or Lewis, Bishop, practice squad DB. If you only get 3 call-ups, I’m doing them all on offense and playing both ingram and lewis and Phillips.

Priority Free Agents for Buffalo? Early Draft talk..
BuffaloRebound replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s a good player but not a guy who consistently gets pressure on the QB or demands a double team. I like him but he shouldn’t get paid as a top edge rusher. Will be a tough decision because he does make some winning plays and some team with a load of cap room might over pay him. -

Until they change the rules to not favor the offense, continue drafting offense early and spending most of your money on offense. I like Rousseau and Benford but i’m not breaking the bank for them. -
A lot to work with but seems a bit mechanical. For a guy who makes some big mistakes, you’d like to see some more big plays.

Controversial opinion: Elam was pretty solid
BuffaloRebound replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
come playoff time, we could use a physical sticky CB when the refs put the flags away. Not sure Elam can clean up his hands enough to not be a liability, but I’d give him more chances the next 2 weeks. -

BuffaloRebound replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wanna like Elam because we need a CB that can run with the elite WR’s but he’s just too handsy and will continue to get picked on. -
Find somebody other than Dorian to take off the field to get Milano on. We have enough undersized back 7 guys as it is. Dorian might not be the greatest in coverage but least he can take on and shed a blocker.

Josh put his Superman cape on today

Amen. Mcdermott doesn’t deserve to coach him. -
McD will be the scapegoat to hide the real issue this week
BuffaloRebound replied to Cray51's topic in The Stadium Wall
3rd and 17 with 3 minutes left, I bet we had a better than 50% chance of winning. Play a gutless conservative 10 yard cushion and give them 12 yards so they can go for it on 4th and 5 where you send a 4 man rush that didn’t get home the entire game. Then we probably still have a 35% chance of winning if we kept all 3 timeouts for the last minute, but it drops to 7.7% after idiotically burning that timeout.
