My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports
BuffaloRebound replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like there’s still a glaring hole at WR. Rest of roster except maybe OT is deep, talented, and championship caliber. Keeping my eye on Mike Evans. Tampa is going nowhere and he’s on last year of his deal. Could see him being dealt to a contender. Think he’s got an elite year or 2 left in him. -
C’mon. He’s an idiot for even getting on a jet ski during his playing years and is lucky he doesn’t play for an organization like the Bengals, who wouldn’t hesitate to go after his guaranteed money.
-
You can’t compare a guy who makes $3m a year playing football who injured himself a week before training camp riding a jet ski to a minimum wage worker who has cancer. It’s probably not worth the bad press pursuing his $3m guaranteed, but if I’m the Bills I’m extremely disappointed in Hines.
-
Agreed. Lawyers and insurance companies know what activities to prohibit in these contracts. Riding a jet ski might be a normal activity on vacation for the average joe but not for a football player whose playing career is on average 3-4 years. I also find it interesting the report was that he was ‘stationary’ on the jet ski. Clearly put out by his agent since ‘riding a jet ski’ is probably clearly prohibited by his contract.
-
Pretty sure most NFL contracts have clauses that negate guarantees if you engage in risky activities. I’d be surprised if jet ski isn’t one of those activities.

That $10.7m cap hit this year was a bit of an albatross for Beane. The extension allows him to finagle Oliver’s cap numbers going forward. We are lucky to have owners willing to spend the money to give Beane the flexibility to build a championship roster.

4 team divisions is bad enough. The 17th game means teams don’t even have same amount of home games anymore. Add in all the non-sunday games creating rest imbalances and NFL has by far the least equitable scheduling. Not even close. That’s why the 1 seed getting a bye is so dumb. 8 teams per conference should make playoffs.

good. Would rather be the hunter. The hype machine was outta control last year.

Are the Bills committed to Ed Oliver in 2023?
BuffaloRebound replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s hope he has a breakout year, but he’s definitely been underwhelming especially when you look at the top 20 picks that year. That was a pretty stacked draft. In hindsight there’s no way he should’ve went that high at that size without huge production. -
1,076 Yards, TE Rookie Record = 1961
BuffaloRebound replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s possible because he has better hands than Gabe and Knox. Especially if Josh develops trust in him early in the season. But if he did break that record, there’d probably be controversy over whether Kincaid is really a tight end. -
Definitely a theme this off-season. Our slot Receiver is going from 5’9” 180lbs to 6’4” 240lbs. Our RB additions are 20 and 30lbs bigger than Singletary. Torrence is bigger than whoever he’s gonna replace. Poona is a stout physical guy. Rapp is big and physical for a safety. Hopefully the days of being a soft non-physical team except for our QB are in the past.

Bills are grandpa's based on average roster age.
BuffaloRebound replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
10 or 11 months difference from the youngest. And we haven’t yet announced the college udfa’s. That 12-14 guys around 22 years of age which orobably drops the average age by 6 months. -
Looks like Settle will be inactive on game days unless there’s an injury.

Bills sign Latavius Murray to a one-year deal

Shows McBeane is committed to being more physical on offense. -
You would never know we were 13-3 by the way most people are talking about this team. I think it sets up nicely for us to be the hunter instead of the hunted this year. There’s a lot of guys who could have either bounce-back or contract year type seasons. Tre, Hyde, Oliver, Epenesa, Basham, Rousseau, Spencer Brown, Gabe, Harris, even Knox. Then I’d expect increased contribution from Elam and Cook plus a jolt from Kincaid and Torrence. That’s not even factoring in Josh coming in re-focused after a year in which he became a mega-star. Diggs, Milano, maybe Tremaine, Morse and Dawkins were probably only guys who had really good years by their standards. There’s a lot of room for this team to improve.
-
Hard to be a top pass catcher without elite hands. That’s what holds back Knox from taking the next step. Same with Gabe. Mckenzie was even more inconsistent catching the ball. None of our RB’s have great hands either. I expect Kincaid to be Josh’s #2 target rather quickly.
-
Sometimes you just get lucky and the guys you need fall into your lap. I’d say that was kinda the case with Kincaid and definitely the case with Torrence. We haven’t had that kind of draft luck probably since Josh. Look at the Jets last year and all the guys that fell into their lap. Then look at this year with Steelers moving up and stealing their left tackle. With 31 other teams going after the same guys, there’s definitely luck involved. I’m not sure we could’ve had a better first 2 rounds considering where we were picking.
-
Not sure there was a top 7-8 team who helped themselves more. Maybe the Ravens. Maybe Philly. We arguably added 2 top flight starters to the offense. To a team that was 13-3.
-
I’d think Dawkins, Mcgovern, Morse, Cyrus, Brown with Knox, Kincaid, Diggs, Gabe, Harris and Josh is our base offense with Cook and Harty as our smaller package.
