  1. In this economy, the number of people willing to pay $700-800m for a team plus a relocation fee plus another $1b for a new stadium has to be dwindling. A move to Toronto is probably the only legitimate chance of the Bills leaving Buffalo in this economic environment.
  2. Well put. The Jets, Patriots, and Dolphins are playing for keeps. Ralph's focus is more about maximizing market value. I would love to see a comparison of what teams pay for their coaches and front office. I would be willing to bet the Bills are in the bottom 3 if not the very bottom.
  3. Could not agree more about the DE's. It is the #1 reason we get no turnovers. You might as well put 300 pounders on the edge to stop the run. On top of that, there were at least 2 times where Kelsay and Denney completely over-ran the play and let Quinn break contain for big yardage. It is amazing that the Giants lost a Hall of Famer in Strahan and one of the best pass rushers in the League in Umenyiora, and they still have DE's who can get to the Qb.
  4. Coaching is important, but so is every man on the 53 man roster. You are only as good as your weakest link. We have zero pass rushers on the roster. All our safeties outside Whitner are suspect. Ellison is way too soft. Losman should have been cut and a viable back-up Qb should have been brought in. We have no fullback. Another veteran WR should have been brought in. Parcells, Belichik, Coughlin would cut so many guys off this roster the day they took over. One good thing Donahoe did was bring in quality veteran depth. That was probably the only good thing he did.
  5. Jauron is what he always has been. A conservative coach that tries to keep an even-keel. The problems have always started with Ralph. Too many other concerns outside of winning. That leads to too many over-paid losers. Parcells might be an a-hole, but his mentality is needed in this organization. I just fear that guys like Whitner who seem to be bothered by losing begin to accept that this is a losing organization and collecting millions a year isn't a bad trade-off.
  6. The Browns only rushed 3 a majority of the time. It almost reminded me of Belichik and the Jets against Flutie. The few passes that he completed downfield were thread the needle. Dump-offs and running the ball were the way to go. On a positive note, I thought we played well from the 2nd quarter on. Huge plays from special teams, offense moved the ball methodically, and defense was stout except for the long run. That's the formula for this team. Not Trenting forcing the ball downfield.
  7. I agree wholeheartedly with this. Trent shakes off a horrible game and throws a beautiful pass to Royal to put the team into position. And chicken-sh%t "I need to think about things" Jauron takes the game away. I don't care that he went to Yale, Jauron doesn't have a winning instinct in his body. All the smarts in the world can't overcome that.
  8. McKelvin almost made a great play on the interception. Can't blame him. He went for it. Plus he was awesome on returns. Roscoe redeemed himself on the last punt rturn, but his inability to catch the ball or not position himself properly cost the Bills almost 50 yards on 2 punts. Corner's miss on Quinn was pathetic.
  9. I'll take Whitner any day on my team. As for the rest of the sorry losers in this organization...
  10. Crennel gave the Bills 5 more yards by calling 2 timeouts. Jauron was content with the 50 yarder. Absolutely mind-boggling considering Edwards just threw his best pass of the night.
  11. That would have been a 50 yarder if Crenel didn't call 2 tineouts.
  12. We are playing for a 47 yard FG???????
  13. Thank god Crenel is an idiot.
  14. It's like losers have a way of getting drafted or finding their way onto this roster. Untouched and Corner whiffs on Quinn who didn't even see him.
  15. If Fewell goes into chicken-sh%t mode, we lose.
  16. Ko Simpson is Mark Kelso re-born. It's like playing with 10 players on defense.
  17. Replace the owner. The Bills have always been a 2nd class organization save striking gold with Polian, Bruce, and Kelly for a 10 year period. Look at what happens when a few starters go down. They have to rely on scrubs or rookies. They let depth veterans like Aiken and Stamer go to save a few hundred thousand and now these guys are playing on winning teams.
  18. You never know. Wilson seems like the chicken little type when it comes to finances. Maybe the current economic times have scared Ralph into getting serious about selling. Add the prospect of taxes being raised on capital gains for millionaires, and it kind of makes sense. A 10% increase in capital gains could mean $70-80m.
  19. Just my opinion, but I don't think he runs as hard every carry as he did last year. He took quite a beating last year and it seems like he, perhaps wisely, isn't fighting for every extra yard. Beast mode has been more selective this year.
  20. Why can't they get the offensive plays into the huddle on time? It seemed like Trent was coming to line with 10 seconds or less every time and if there was any motion or the Jets were showing different looks, the snap was rushed. That resulted in the fake snap by Preston right before the Pick 6 and other plays that just looked out of sync.
  21. Edwards is a much better athlete than Pennington. He has a much better arm. They are both smart players - that's about the only similarity. It's hard to come up with a good comparison.
  22. The Giants and Eagles were smart not to offer anything more than a 4th. It's clear that wanting to go to a bigger market high-profile team was a motivating factor and it was not 100% about going to a winner. I don't want a guy like that on my team. I expect to see him on Dancing with the Stars next season.
  23. It's also plausible that New England wants to wait until after their game to announce the deal.
  24. Could not agree more. Losman has zero trade value at this point. The problem with Losman, like many other QB's like Carr, Boller, Grossman, is that he has talent and experience but five years into his career is still a developmental QB. Most teams already have a guy like that on their roster and don't want another team's throw-aways. I think he might have trouble finding work next year unless teams are convinced he's alright battling for a #2 job. Otherwise, he'll get the Culpepper treatment.
  25. I would love to poll the locker room and find out the confidence level the team has in Losman. It seemed that the game was lost when Edwards went down.
