  1. Replace the owner. The Bills have always been a 2nd class organization save striking gold with Polian, Bruce, and Kelly for a 10 year period. Look at what happens when a few starters go down. They have to rely on scrubs or rookies. They let depth veterans like Aiken and Stamer go to save a few hundred thousand and now these guys are playing on winning teams.
  2. You never know. Wilson seems like the chicken little type when it comes to finances. Maybe the current economic times have scared Ralph into getting serious about selling. Add the prospect of taxes being raised on capital gains for millionaires, and it kind of makes sense. A 10% increase in capital gains could mean $70-80m.
  3. Just my opinion, but I don't think he runs as hard every carry as he did last year. He took quite a beating last year and it seems like he, perhaps wisely, isn't fighting for every extra yard. Beast mode has been more selective this year.
  4. Why can't they get the offensive plays into the huddle on time? It seemed like Trent was coming to line with 10 seconds or less every time and if there was any motion or the Jets were showing different looks, the snap was rushed. That resulted in the fake snap by Preston right before the Pick 6 and other plays that just looked out of sync.
  5. Edwards is a much better athlete than Pennington. He has a much better arm. They are both smart players - that's about the only similarity. It's hard to come up with a good comparison.
  6. The Giants and Eagles were smart not to offer anything more than a 4th. It's clear that wanting to go to a bigger market high-profile team was a motivating factor and it was not 100% about going to a winner. I don't want a guy like that on my team. I expect to see him on Dancing with the Stars next season.
  7. It's also plausible that New England wants to wait until after their game to announce the deal.
  8. Could not agree more. Losman has zero trade value at this point. The problem with Losman, like many other QB's like Carr, Boller, Grossman, is that he has talent and experience but five years into his career is still a developmental QB. Most teams already have a guy like that on their roster and don't want another team's throw-aways. I think he might have trouble finding work next year unless teams are convinced he's alright battling for a #2 job. Otherwise, he'll get the Culpepper treatment.
  9. I would love to poll the locker room and find out the confidence level the team has in Losman. It seemed that the game was lost when Edwards went down.
  10. Losman didn't lose the game but I think something can be said about the confidence the locker room has in Edwards and the lack of confidence it has in Losman.
  11. X-ray on his chest. Can't make this stuff up. The Tin-Man!!!
  12. The Jags are good. With Hasselback and playing in a garbage division, Seattle should be a .500 team. Oakland impressed me. Russell is suspect, but their defense is good, they can run the ball, and they have excellent special teams. Lechler almost beat us himself today. I bet they win 6-7 games, but could mail it in at the end of the year depending on the coaching situation.
  13. I agree. Plus that was a huge emotional win on the road against a good team. I kind of expected a letdown game at home against a team the Bills were supposed to handle especially from a Bills team not used to success. Horrible starting field position for the offense didn't help either.
  14. Snap the f'ing ball. Horrible special teams, horrible offense, horrible coaching all around today.
  15. No. Sports franchises are valued using revenue multiples. Plus there is a salary cap and you have to spend the money on someone. At this point, why would Ralph entrust Peters with a huge contract after his antics?
  16. Time to stop f'ing around and go after Peters' signing bonus.
  17. Isn't it great for a change when the other team has to come up with excuses why their starters got their asses kicked in the preseason... Keep up the momentum. When it's starters vs. starters, pre-season matters unless you're Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.
  18. I'd take that anyday than pretending the offense is suddenly going to click in the regular season. Pre-season reveals a lot more than people think. These guys are basically practicing year round together with the exception of February and March. I'm not looking for a 40 point win because guys who are going to be cut play half the game. What I would like to see is the starting offense to show a pulse and score some points. Today's NFL coaches prepare for everything, so this whole sand-bagging argument doesn't hold any water. I'd much rather be having an argument that the Bills starters putting up 17-21 points in the pre-season doesn't mean that much than the endless argument that we can't score because we use a vanilla offense, don't gameplan, have a lot to work on, or some other excuse for why this offense sucks. Build some offensive momentum in the pre-season for a change so you don't have to start the regular season trying to do something you have yet to prove you can do.
  19. No, let's contunue what we've been doing the last 3 pre-seasons. Run for 2 yards... Run for 1 yard... 3rd and long - incomplete...punt. Then let's start the season losing games we could have won because we couldn't score more than 10 offensive points. Showing nothing in the pre-season has sure confused and surprised our opponents in the past.
  20. Pre-season isn't the be-all/end-all, but the SB Bills didn't have anything to prove in the pre-season. They knew they could turn it on when they had to. The current Bills have proven nothing. F the vanilla offense and no game-planning BS. Just once, I'd love to see the starting offense come out and tear it up in the pre-season. Game plan if you have to. Run reverses, trick plays or whatever you have to do to put some points on the board and develop an attitude that you're going to put 7 points on the board every time we get the ball. For young, unproven teams, the pre-season means a lot.
  21. That's why it would be a surprise. Would Gaddis, Whittle, or Preston be much of a drop-off? I can't answer that question, but I do know Fowler is in the last year of his deal and the Bills don't seem eager to sign him to an extension and those other 3 make less money. Plus the only other starter/near-starter who has any chance of being cut would be Ko Simpson.
  22. I think Favre is a horrible fit for New York. He has been hero-worshipped in Green Bay for the past 15 years. I can't understand why he would want to put himself through the scrutiny and demands of Jets fans and the New York media at this stage in his career. This has a much higher probability of being a disaster for Favre than anything else. On top of that, does anyone think he is going to respect much less listen to Schottenheimer's kid and Mangini? Green Bay knew what it was doing. If anything, this was a Hail Mary by the Jets before the season even started and is more an indictment of Pennington and Clemens and the Jets chances with one of them as their QB.
  23. If Peters truly wants a new contract from the Bills, he should fire his agent. All his behavior is doing is backing the Bills into a corner making it impossible for the Bills to re-do his deal even if Brandon wanted to.
