  1. If they trade Roscoe for anything less than a 2nd round pick, I agree with you. But if he can net the Bills a starting OL, TE, LB, or DL, he is a luxury when the Bills have many other needs.
  2. If the Bills take a WR, CB, or RB in the 1st round, all hope is lost. Even if the Bills think Crabtree is a top 5 talent, I'd hope they trade down in that scenario. I'd much rather see the Bills take one of the QB's than Crabtree.
  3. Roscoe and a late round pick to KC for Waters? If Peters is traded, the Bills can't start 2 rookies on the OL and expect the QB to remain upright.
  4. Why? It seems like Andre Smith is being compared talent-wise to Peters. Philadelphia would probably have to trade up to #6 or #7 to get him. Assuming they can find a willing trade partner, the trade value chart suggests that would cost them at least their two 1st rounders. The contract for a #6 or #7 pick isn't too far behind what they'd have to pay Peters. I bet St. Louis and Seattle would trade their #2 and #4 pick for Peters instead of paying the same price for guys who may or may not be Pro Bowl LT's. I think the Bills should ask for Philly's 2 1st rounders and then maybe settle for a 1st and 2nd.
  5. That thinking led to taking Whitner when we could have had Cutler. I'v never seen Freeman play, but if the guy is a Roethlisberger type QB (who would be the ideal QB for Buffalo), I don't think Edwards has shown enough promise to pass that up. It's better than reaching and giving up multiple picks on a Losman next year when the Bills decide Edwards isn't the answer. That said, it will never happen because Jauron has to win this year.
  6. What about Freeman? If the guy is that good, wouldn't a big QB with a big arm be perfect for the Bills?
  7. The only way I could see the Bills trade for Cutler is if Denver has an interest in Edwards. I'd give up Edwards and next year's #1 pick for Cutler. Then the Bills are in the same position this year dealing with Peters, finding a pass rusher, TE, and OG and have all their picks.
  8. Doesn't Jauron usually have a 'no comment on contractual matters' stance? Unfortunately, this makes me feel like it is much more likely Peters gets traded.
  9. That video reminded me of Joey 'Sunshine' Harrington than anything else. Sanchez looks too happy/giddy for my liking. Your QB's gotta be tough and get the respect of the locker room. Hanging out with Rob Johnson doesn't help either. Hopefully they are not hanging out in the hot tub together.
  10. "Guards Brad Butler and Brandon Rodd are decent. Depth is lacking and they could use some help behind the five starters." Who the F is Brandon Rodd? This dis-credits everything else in the article.
  11. The Bills desperately need a pass rusher, but I wouldn't mind Maualuga if the Bills think Maybin is too high risk. Cushing seems like he'll be a good player, but not a difference maker. Bills are in desperate need of difference makers in the front 7.
  12. Drew Brees is the only QB I can remember who significantly increased his arm strength. It took him from an average/below average starter to elite starter. Edwards should call him up.
  13. Not saying Maybin is that guy, but the #11 pick is a great place to take a chance on a player with elite talent. The salary structure at the top of the draft prevents teams from taking a chance on players with the most upside. The #11 pick isn't an exorbitant contract.
  14. If Peters is traded, then someone is gonna have to get paid on the left side of the OL. I'd rather pay Peters premium money than a LG like Waters, plus Waters means a draft pick on top. You can't have a rookie next to an average player on the left side and expect our QB's to remain upright. Pay Peters, draft a pass rusher in round #1, get a starting LG in the 2nd round, and sign one of these free agent LB's.
  15. I found it curious that Thurman mentioned that he heard the Bills weren't done acquiring talent after the Owens signing. I don't think he'd say that if it meant bringing in Scheffler or a Guard. I also don't think Cutler would be acting like this if he didn't have a destination picked out.
  16. McDaniel gets a chance to send Cutler to the AFC East as revenge for Belichik not sending Cassel to Denver. That's how a-holes like Belichik and his proteges operate.
  17. T.O. or not, Brady is going to put up 40+ points against that pathetic pass rush. The worst part about it is the Bills spend top dollar on their defensive ends and get nothing for it. Now that they got a legit playmaker on offense, the Bills must get a pass rusher on defense. I really hope there is a plan to address this. I don't see how Brandon can cut dead weight like Dockery and Royal, and be fine paying Kelsay and Schobel like premier defensive ends. Schobel probably gets another year due to his injury, but no pass rush means no playoffs and you can't rely on a rookie no matter how high you draft him to significantly improve the pass rush.
  18. He's one option. I'd consider giving two 1st round picks for Peppers. Maybe Buffalo becomes more attractive to him with Owens. I disagree with the original premise of this thread. I think getting Owens ups the ante for another dramatic move on the defensive side.
  19. A 1st round draft pick is not going to remedy the anemic pass rush. Schobel is still a question mark. I think getting a veteran pass rusher is the #1 goal.
  20. Agreed. Jason Taylor on the other hand would interest me s a situational pass rusher.
  21. The Bills are in desperate need of an identity. The only thing we do well is special teams. Get a guy like Andre Smith and with Peters you have the building blocks for a dominant Offensive Line. I wouldn't be against taking Raji either. I'm weary of taking a 260 lb pass rusher who's only going to see the field on 3rd down if Schobel returns to form.
  22. It's probably to the point where Ralph has to go after Owens. You have to give the fans something. Fitzpatrick, Hamgartner, and Florence aren't selling tickets or giving people hope. Draft picks, short of a top rated QB, aren't doing it either. With Owens, you don't have to give up draft picks or even much money since no winning team is taking a chance. The Bills have as many if not more warts than Owens.
  23. Well said. Plus, Owens' talents complement Edwards perfectly. With the state this franchise is in, they can't afford not to look into Owens.
  24. If Owens is willing to come to Buffalo, it would signal that he's serious about playing football. Buffalo has to be the lowest profile team in the NFL. The Bills and Owens would most likely only agree to a 1 year deal. The Bills have nothing to lose. Give him a 1 year deal with huge incentives for winning games. If he made the Bills relevant again, he'd totally redeem his image. He is exactly the type of WR that Edwards needs.
  25. The jury is definitely still out on Edwards, but he needs a TE and a better OL much more than he needs a 2nd WR. I don't think he's the type of QB who's going to consistently get the ball downfield to 2 WR's. The money would be much better spent on a TE or the OL.
