  1. I actually agree with this. It would be nice to load up on the front 7 with both 1st rounders. Orakpo/Ayers and Cushing/Matthews plus a trade for Henderson and we could actually have a pretty nice defense.
  2. For some reason, I think the target is Orakpo who is strong enough to play on the right side. Schobel, Stroud, Orakpo, and Henderson? could be a nice defensive line.
  3. I think that would decrease Jackson's effectiveness. Plus, Jackson probably splits return duties with McKelvin if/when Parrish is traded. Getting Rhodes obviously helps in the first 3 games, but also allows Jackson to be used more situationally and on returns. In addition, I think Lynch doesn't run hard all the time especially early in the season to save himself for later in the season. Two work-horse backs like Lynch and Rhodes with an all-purpose guy like Jackson is almost an ideal backfield.
  4. Curry if he falls. Maybe Smith. The way things are happening at One Bills Drive, nothing would be too surprising at this point.
  5. Even if a trade with Jax is true, why would the Bills tell them who we are targeting, and why would Jax leak the info? I don't doubt that the Bills have something in the works, be it trades in the draft or picks for veterans, but I seriously doubt this happens.
  6. Parrish is a great punt returner because of his quickness in the open field. That does not translate to offense because he is too small to break tackles. Welker is much more powerful than Parrish. Parrish is probably the slightest non-kicker in the NFL.
  7. I think this means Parrish is gone. This frees up Jackson to split return duties with McKelvin and be the 3rd down back.
  8. They better do something or Jauron should just box up his office now. Waters and a Tight End for 2 4th's would be a start. If they are hell bent on trading Parrish, I'd like to see them package him and #11 to move up with possibly the Raiders and get Curry. Parrish seems like an Al Davis type.
  9. LT Walker LG Oher C Hamgartner RG Butler RT Chambers
  10. I don't know how anyone can be happy that the Bills just got rid of a guy who was our best player in 2007 and certainly our best OL since Hull. That said, the way things went down, there's no way the Bills could justify paying a guy that kind of money who did what he did last year. In an ideal world where the Bills hadn't sucked for the past 10 years, I would have let Peters piss his career away and made him play under his current deal unless he showed up to every offseason workout program and training camp. Unfortunately the Bills need all the help they can get and couldn't afford to not take Philly's offer.
  11. I really hope Brandon knows what he's doing. He certainly isn't lacking balls. Let's hope he has brains too.
  12. Philly was probably our most realistic trade down partner, but that is obviously out now that they have their LT. Maybe if Crabtree falls, someone will trade up, but Detroit is the only realistic team that has the ammo to trade up. I doubt the Bills would trade down to the Giants at #29, and I pray that Brandon is smart enough to never do a deal with New England.
  13. My guess is Oher at #11 and he starts at LG his 1st year.
  14. The better question is what do the Bills do with the money ($8-10m? per year) they were going to give Peters? I really hope they have a plan that doesn't include starting rookies and journeymen on the OL. What's the latest on Waters from KC?
  15. Arizona would be idiots if they trade him to another NFC team. I'd imagine he goes to the first AFC team who meets the Cards' demands.
  16. Because without teams like the Bills, the NFL is just a big corporate behemoth whose main goal is to satisfy suits and fantasy geeks. Basically it becomes the NBA.
  17. How about Curry and Pettigrew? Curry falls to #8, and we trade our 4th to Jax to move up (in this economy, I don't think a team spends top 5 money on a LB that doesn't rack up sacks). If Pettigrew falls to the mid 20's, trade up with our 3rd.
  18. If I were an offensive lineman, Buffalo would actually be one of the places I'd want to play at. Endorsements and publicity are irrelevant as an OL, and making $10m per year in Buffalo is a lot easier than $10m per year in a place like Philly where the fans are brutal and the media worse. For a dude like Peters that seems to avoid the media, I'd think all else equal, he'd want to stay in Buffalo. After the draft, his position is weakened as much as the Bills unless the guy is willing to flush his career down the drain.
  19. Then Losman should re-pay his salary for that year. A professional athlete making 7 figures should not look like that no matter what the situation is.
  20. Losman never had the mental makeup to be an NFL QB. It was obvious when he looked like a pop warner QB at the end of the New England game his rookie year. It is dis-concerting that the guy responsible for college scouting who made huge misses on headcases like Mike Williams and Losman is still in charge.
  21. The Bills need to find a way to get through to Peters and keep him. Then trade for a veteran Tight End. This allows the Bills to take Freeman at #11. Edwards still starts and gets a chance to take the next step but Freeman is waiting in the wings. Then take a pass rusher in the 2nd round like Michael Johnson or if need be package it with their 3rd to move up if pass rushers are flying off the board. I know there are needs like OLB and OG/C, but without improved pass rush and QB play, this franchise will continue spinning its wheels.
  22. I am secretly hoping we take Freeman at #11.
  23. Roscoe does not have enough power to offset his size on offense. Welker is much more powerful than Roscoe. Roscoe needs the space that 10 guys plus a punter running full speed for 50 yards creates to take advantage of his elite quickness and change of direction skills.
  24. Returning punts is a lot less taxing than returning kicks. Letting McKelvin return punts should not affect his ability to play defense. Kick returns are a different story, whether Roscoe is traded or not.
